U guys can also notice that the arrows on top of Puss are shivering which represents Puss being scared of Death. And when Perrito helps Puss, the arrows stop shaking which shows that Puss isn't scared anymore.
I personally think that after Perrito comes and calms Puss, it would cut to the part where Puss and Death have their final battle in the wishing star and the song continues.
