I love this part of Whoopie. Just talking friendly about movies and people, so carefree and no heavy politics. Too much of that from too many people nowadays.
I’m not surprised Patrick Swayze was such a sweetheart and Whoopi Goldberg bright a certain magic to that film that nobody else could bring. That movies doesn’t run without her. Patrick Swayze is a legend for a reason. He has good natural instincts. ❤
WOW! I never knew this story. From that she wins the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The first black woman to win an Academy Award since Hattie McDaniel for "Gone With The Wind". WOW!
I’m confused as to why whoopi doesn’t seem to get the respect she deserves why this woman was a huge part of mine and everybody’s child hood being a kid in the 90s
Patrick swayze was an awesome actor ghost was his movie. Him and demi where absolutely awesome in that movie. But his show The beast he was doing before he past was absolutely great.
At 1:22 did she really just say something along the way of"I like how you will just wear anything?" I've heard of women making passive aggressive insults like that.
it did not sound passive aggressive. what if the lady who said that is always too self-conscious and chooses clothing by what she thinks people will judge her and not what makes her happy?
I love everything about Whoopi except for the glasses. Ditch em. My favorite role of hers will always be the part she played in Star Trek TNG. Ghienan. (Sp?). Gene Roddenberry create that role just for her and she was perfect for the part!
Annnnd Patrick’s mom is the reason we have the fabulous Debbie Allen. So he is a chip off the old block. His mother saw that she wanted to dance and got her into her studio.
She keeps bringing up racism and yet a white man gave her a chance shes a brilliant actress no matter what people say so she's got the talent however without him who is She?
A bunch of actors have become diminished in my eyes because of their partisan politicking and myopic virtue signaling, but I was eventually able to return to the roles they played well with good direction and writing.
So racism isn't a thing because a white man gave her a chance? "she's got the talent however without him who is She?" Is very telling of your mentality. Maybe she would be winning academy awards, or making critically acclaimed films. Maybe nominated for best actress. Oh yeah, she had already had done all of that before Swayze "gave her a chance" and ending racism at the same time. I'll go tell the Americans that racism ended in the 90's. Pipe down, Patrick chose Whoopi, all is well!
@@lunamoon1255 Without roles like Oda Mae Brown and Guinan, Whoopi may not register on some people's celebrity radar. It's not necessarily a merit and/or race thing when you consider the many talented and/or white actors who miss out on roles for one reason or another. Maybe they didn't stand out to producers or lacked the connections. Patrick did her a BIG favor by going to bat for her when the part would have gone to another black performer like Oprah or Tina Turner. Because of him, Whoopi got to play one of her most endearing roles for generations to remember her by despite her politicking on the View.
@@Bat-Twenty-Two I'm just going to take it that you can't understand context or are intentionally being empty-headed. I do not care why Whoopi may or may not register on an individuals "celeb-radar". I loved her in Star Trek, so worldly and wise, and calming to talk to. In Ghost she's fun and quirky and she's so pleasant here, nowadays it's too political.
Apparently you don't have very good reading comprehension; Patrick Swayze refused to star in Ghost unless they cast Whoopi Goldberg in the fortune teller role.
So if it wasn't for Swayze, we never would've heard the line "Molly, u in danger, gurl."
+Dave12395 no one could play Oda Mae Brown/Rita miller like Whoopi. All thanks to Patrick she got the part

My goodness, what a line?--that we all repeat!😅
@@millicenthamilton-kakowski8275 or i willlll when oda mae gave the $4 million check to the nuns
Peter william, I STARTED READING “I wiiiil… “ and I knew exactly what was next 😂😂😂😂❤
Swayze and Whoopi had such a great dynamic in ghost.
They really did. Adorable and absolutely hilarious. The scene in the bank still makes me laugh.
I love this part of Whoopie. Just talking friendly about movies and people, so carefree and no heavy politics. Too much of that from too many people nowadays.
It's like 'X' too many showing their dispicable selves. Give it a break, it's hollywood for crying out loud...

If you wanna skip to Whoopi talking about Patrick Swayze go to 2:33
She was amazing in ghost i cant think of anyone better she is a great actress and so funny
RIP to Patrick Swayze! Your honor still speaks to us from the grave.
Aww. What an incredible kind and selfless person Patrick was. Most people wouldn’t think twice about who they want as their costar.
Fantastic for Patrick!! That's wonderful. It was, and is, one of my favorite movies.
WOW! I never knew this story. From that she wins the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The first black woman to win an Academy Award since Hattie McDaniel for "Gone With The Wind". WOW!
She embellishes it every year.. “ they want you in the movie! Who’s in it ? Just go down there! Lol
So much lifelong affection for Whoopi ❤❤❤

I love Whoopie! ❤❤❤
I love Patrick! May he rest peacefully. ❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾
Is crazy because whoppie made the movie ghost fun I bet the director didn’t regret it in the end
True. Her character and the chemistry she had with Patrick added that light-heartedness in a movie that otherwise would have been incredibly sad.
"Black women got out of the grave to audition for this!" LOL
Swayze was taken by Jumpin Jack, he loved that moved too
Can't even imagine someone else as "Oda Mae" ❤
Nope, she has that comedic timing, just right for the role.
I’m confused as to why whoopi doesn’t seem to get the respect she deserves why this woman was a huge part of mine and everybody’s child hood being a kid in the 90s
Outspoken black women.
How is she not respected? She's a member of the EGOT club. She's been celebrated by all of those organizations for her work.
I mean, she was the whole movie.
Patrick swayze was an awesome actor ghost was his movie. Him and demi where absolutely awesome in that movie. But his show The beast he was doing before he past was absolutely great.
2:41 starts here….
Patrick Swayze. Class act.
Seriously dope I love them I hope the gift was genuine no disrespect to anyone it's just hard to tell with TODAYS television
Why think the worst?
She would have become legendary without the film. Ghost was lucky to have her.
Come now, its a cataclysmic thing, when good things happen, don't disregard one over teh other, as I am sure she would say.
I notice in her interviews she talks about having fun, i think that is beautiful of her.
At 1:22 did she really just say something along the way of"I like how you will just wear anything?" I've heard of women making passive aggressive insults like that.

And Whoopie knocked it out the park
W oo pie
Shreveport police still got a warrant for Oda Maes arrest
That is what equity and being sn ally looks like.
No, she was doing comedy very well on HBO before this.
I actually liked her in long walk home. Sister act was good too. The first one anyway
The movie, Long Walk Home, made me cry.I've watched it over and over and cry every time.Whoopi is a phenomenal actress.
She was the only choice for Ota Mae❤❤❤
She dresses like a fortune teller in the bronx 😂
Whoopie, is a great person!
She is just funny a natural 🎉
From great movie to this, what happened woopi
First time coming across this show, who was the one who thought this name was a good idea lol.

I will never watch this show of Whoopi is on
Do ya think da goils have toenail fungus or athlete's foot.
I loved Oda Mae but I have no love or respect for Whoopi since she has turned so nasty and political on TV.
What a load of cobblers. Dead man cannot call her a liar.
Why would she make it up
