I have an answer for you. =) A little late for you maybe. But still an answer. I bought first version (QB) to my ex gf. This was maybe about 6-8 years ago, I still visit her sometimes as a friend. She had the same original grill and it did NOT warp. The overall constraction and quality is VERY high. I own the QB2 since a couple of months ago. I ordered the "peacock"-colored grill like yesterday and expected to have it within 3 weeks from now. The QB2 built is 98 % the same. Built quality is extremely good for it's price. For instance better than many stereo amps for $5000. Her has been moving around anything but is still like new. When it comes to the reviews I agree somewhat with critics. Compare to the best Marshall I think it's way better. Compare with best Audio Pro compact speaker I think it's still a difference. I think it might still leading it's class, but you can't still compare it to KEF R7 Meta or something like this. So the conclusion is that it is THAT good, but don't think it's magic. Other details; It's more sensitve to acoustics (placement) than I expected but still not that sensitive. App is terrible and painful to configure. But works out great when it's done. And it has possibly the worst or one of the worst room corrections I have ever used. And they removed the (extremly) high quality metal ring for volume adjustment with a cheaper material on QB2, that was on original QB. I didn't compare sound side by side, but my feeling is that the sound improvement is minimal or not noticeble. But these stuff a minor drawbacks, I would say. However, the streaming capabilites that is on QB2 makes a "class leading" small speaker for i.e. kitchen even better. The functionality is vastly improved, especially if you want to implement it in a "smart home". Last good thing I want to mention is that it sound less good than my Audeze LCD-2 Classic headphones on some songs. But it's way more forgiving and sound good on much more genres and productions. Highly recommended.
