Clearly the Orca's were in awe of the human and somewhat entertained by her as well. . For me this was emotional and enough to bring tears. Loved your video!! Such freedom!
The beauty of all this is that it all came naturally💕 the swimmer didn’t panic & I am sure she looks back on this as a highlight of her life! The whales didn’t feel threatened & it was a learning experience for the babies! Nature is an amazing thing 💦💕
What an AMAZING piece of footage!!! You knocked this one out of the park for sure!!! Such incredible animals: majestic and inquisitive ..... I think part of the reason this footage was able to be captured was because the swimmer didn’t act freaked out or particularly nervous. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!!! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome video!!! Shalom .... ✡️🇮🇱☮️ .....
Wow,incredible, how curious they are,I'm amazed how comfortable the orcas seem to be surfing so close on the sand. Also so amazed how calm the swimmer is having a large shark examining her feet for snackability!
She is so lucky, I would love to swim with orcas. Its like the mother orca was trying to help the lady get back to shore then realized she was ok. They are highly complex and intelligent beings and the last place they belong is in entertainment tanks like SeaWorld.
See the 7:32 version. I like your sentiments, but on one point I disagree with your interpretation. Of course I'm not inside the orcas' heads, I'm just interpreting their movements probably imperfectly. Initially the 3 killer whales are hunting rays and indeed food-sharing. This unusual animal, a human, interrupts them. The young ones are curious, but the mother acts protectively, and wants to be sure her children are not in danger. That is why she checks out the human so closely. She is also probably using the opportunity to teach the young ones what that animal is like. Thus I view the maneuvers less romantically. To sum up, it's defensive surveillance, which is of life-and-death importance to any wild animal. They can't smell, but it's almost like an animal sniffing you, trying to understand you.
@@robertspaggiari7033 We see orcas all the time here in Seattle (Puget Sound). It is not romantic to state that they frequently approach humans in a friendly manner with their young. Whether we are on paddleboards or kayaks or scuba they do not seem to fear us even with their young. As a matter of fact they go out of their way to come near. The Native American tribes here consider them a totem, spirit animal, and protector of humanity. Orcas are in carvings all over including totem poles and artwork that predates any European settlers. As the largest species of dolphin, orcas have the same curiosity and friendliness toward human beings over the years (when not put in small tanks, that is).
@@salan3507 Thank you for your excellent reply, which I largely accept, but with some reservations. I am enjoying this discussion. It is hard to convey balance and subtlety in brief UA-cam comments. In the long run I will delete my comment, then perhaps try to post something more nuanced. I support Carl Safina's line that humans are narcisistically obsessed with how much animals love them, when the real issue is how much we can allow them to go about their everyday lives and continue to exist. This does not mean I support an extreme 20th century conservationist view that species will be safe if we just lock them up in national parks and marine protected areas and keep humans away from them. That approach underpins current efforts in Washington state to ban whale watching of salmon-eating Southern Resident Killer Whales. That would effectively reduce embarrassing publicity about conservation failures in Washington state, where wild salmon continues to decline with no state action. As regards the feelings towards humans of wild killer whales, there appears to have been appreciation for the support from scientists such as Ken Balcomb, Alexandra Morton, and Ingrid Visser, who detail interactions that go far beyond what is visible in this video. I believe the current gold standard for swimming with dolphins is Dr. Denise Herzing's Wild Dolphin Project. It can be mutually worthwhile when the dolphins are habituated, and the humans have learnt dolphin etiquette and social rules. Non-professionals are not usually up to speed on these things. This video shows a missed opportunity. The right - and more exciting - thing to do was to stop and watch the killer whales hunt and prey-share, which even scientists do not always get to see. I am trying to see a balance between various needs. I do want humans to have more contact with Nature, which is sorely needed. I am pleased that you are having good experiences with killer whales. But even in Seattle, where killer whales have a large following, most people do not really know much about them. For the safety of the orcas, I am concerned about these people behaving recklessly on the water, not more knowledgeable people like yourself. At the same time, I have been sharing people's joy as the Southern Residents once again this fall make forays into Puget Sound. It is very encouraging to see that efforts to improve local salmon conditions are worthwhile for the whales. I thought maybe she was concerned about her as well and trying to direct her to the shore. However it seems like they’re just curious and interacting with her. Which is totally rare but it is always on their terms. However Ingrid the scientist lady swims with this particular pod quite often, so maybe they thought it was her. Although I’m pretty sure they can smell the difference because their hearing and smelling is top notch.
@@salan3507 the Nordic pod isn’t as easy to swim with. That’s the pod Tilicum was taken from. I bet u they still remember it. He died at age 35 in captivity. He could have lived another 25 years if he had stayed in the wild. When they did this the orcas had been chased before. They tried to separate. The males went north the moms and calf’s went south. They had aerial surveillance! Trapped them in a cove, and they’re so social they have a part of the brain that we don’t, that’s amazing! It has to do with empathy and love, socialization. They love and care about each other deeply on a level we don’t. Hard to describe. However once they had Tilly and they let down the nets, the orcas could’ve left. They didn’t!! They all stayed there and vocalized to him. They proved what those assholes did was wrong, kidnapping a 2 year old from its family. I remember watching it on something before blackfish came out. I was disgusted! I know that two of the whales died in the process and they cut them open and put rocks in them and sunk them. Sad! So interesting at Seaworld shit hole! They say they live longer in captivity because of “superior veterinary care”. Duh! The truth is they live longer in captivity females up to a 100 years males 60 years. I don’t think they will ever forgot what those men did. More weary of humans. Many have tried swimming with that pod, but they don’t get very close. They never harm. I just watched a free diver doing it in cold water and he could go really far down on one breath, it was crazy. However they were hunting herring and they were not really interested in him. Sure if he swam with them when they were not hunting might be more interaction, but I also watched a documentary and that scientists still had a harder time getting close. This pod is much more trusting of humans. It’s obvious they are curious and want to interact. Pretty cool and she’s is lucky. Most dream of moments like that. I’d be scared, a little! Lol. Not because they harm, because they’re so big.
Brilliant footage.. and commentary. The swimmer could not have been more stalwart and relaxed with the curious and somewhat provocative female! Beautiful lessons and adventure..wonder if the swimmer and they had made previous contact and were already friends?
A person swimming in the ocean is risking their lives for the joy of the freedom . They are either confident or they are prey . Panic in the water usually ends life. The orcas seemed to test and admire the swimmer's cool calm reaction . So beautiful how they reacted !
Wow, what an experience being so close to those animals in the water. Seeing a dorsal fin in the water like that, I would have headed for shore quick-ish like! Just shows how gentle giants can be 👍
Shalom Dylan!!! I just can’t stop watching this footage!!! It is just breathtakingly beautiful!!! The music you chose is just perfect!! What is it?? It is so incredibly dramatic like the encounter!! ... ✡️🇮🇱☮️ ...
Does anyone know what cloth like thing was hanging out of the left mouth of the middle sized orca? It seemed cloth like but I guess I could be seeing the water ripple.. anyone else?
Beautiful....well done you guys! I watched the initial footage and seen you guys did this one...the music and slowing it down jus does it...i dont believe they go after humans like that...these guys are happy and in their own environment unlike the ones kept in tanks and forced to perform...but jus being in a fake environment...smh....like they dont kno.....now yes i believe there is exceptions and they are still wild mammals lol and attacks can happen, but i jus feel more times than not that they would for sure check you out and a be able to identify you as non threatening...tho they are smart so i feel like with alot of other species they can detect or feel if u are a threat...u may the be in trouble🤷♀️....but if u tryin to hurt or kill then u deserve what u get...thank you guys for this awesome footage...i would love to hear from the swimmer and how she...looked like a she was feeling!! 😳🥰🥰🥰🥰
That is absolutely the most horrifying video I have ever seen. Swimming in an ocean by yourself and a mother orca with her young beneath the waters??. This could have been the highest quality orca feeding known to man!
lol. I love how this turned out but i would never swim in the ocean like this. You have to be a special breed of human to do this. I do love God's creatures tho.
Did anybody interview this person swimming? that would be quite the interview, I'd like to know why she didn't stop and interact with the one that tried to stop her and interact with her. why she acted like she didn't see them when we know she did?
Orcas as they are in nature, so beautiful to see. NOT like in Sea World or captivity which understandably drives them insane in such a tiny polluted pond. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong for ANY ANIMAL TO BE CAGED for human entertainment.
The water around me would have been solid brown if I was the swimmer pictured. Mama and Papa Orca training their baby to hunt? Extremely lucky they didn't use her as an illustration for their patented tail smack.
maybe they know the diffrence between sea and land and know were coming from the land to take a swim in there world, they be looking at him/her like youve got some weird flippers there haha
I will never trust any of these creatures even some may say they're not aggressive in nature but who really knows. Dolphin used to drag a swimmer into deep water for no reason. Dogs are human's best friends but some of them might attack humans too. Do not be so optimistic.
Mom, is that a seal? No, that’s not it. How do you know? Because it is bigger than a seal and especially it has white feet and an orange head... a funny animal certainly venomous with these flashy colors! We won’t eat it
If you're wondering why this video only got 15k views yet the other got nearly 2M it's because of the horrible music 👍✌️ can't stand it had to stop near enough straight away pal.
Absolutely beautiful thing to see... Mamma was teaching her babies to be kind to humans. ❤
YEAAH, SO CUTEEEE!!!!!

The swimmer's beautiful strokes through the water, the curious orcas, this is a beautiful ballet!
So unbelievable beautiful😍 And how calm she stayed... Respect. Lovely to see which trust people can have in nature.
Such wonderful creatures. They are so beautiful and majestic. Great video! You sure don’t see that every day! 😊
This has to be the most beautiful video on UA-cam. That is one lucky lady! ❤️❤️❤️

Incredible video. Orcas are truly amazing. One of the most fascinating animals.
What an AMAZING experience that would be!! And what amazing footage you captured ... thanks for sharing! 🐳
This clip deserves an orcar. All I can say is this stupid little pun. It leaves me speechless.
What an amazing and beautiful video. She is so brave. 😳👍☺️🤗😍🥰

Wunderschöne Orcas. Beautiful Orca.
Dylan is this a new video? What ever it is amazing how lucky to have had this encounter.
Yeah I just edited it, I though my is show. In slow motion since i recorded it at 60fps. And I zoomed in on a few clips. 👍
I never get tired of watching this beautiful footage.
This is amazing..that lady was honored..
Amazing.. she's being protected by the sea top predators, no sharky can get closer
Aww the baby took her flipper!!! Lmao that’s the cutest, she was probably shocked, I was so scared they were gonna bite her foot 😅😅❤
you could not by this experience-what a video and what a lucky lady ocean swimmer
Funny how they don't attack humans, truly beautiful gentle creatures..
Need some more Dylaanie edits bro 🤙🏼 hope there’s more coming soon

Anyone care to guess whatever it was that the larger of the two pups was carrying in it's mouth? I thought it resembled a white towel...
It was a Ray. They hunt them in NZ. It’s their main food source there.
These are majestic creatures, God bless them, we humans are so bad to nature, they’re definitely the wise ones in this planet 😢

I have recently seen orca attack a boat . They must have had a good reason for it !
Orcas not only playing with human but also as that man guard because if orcas still there will not be other predator will approach him
lol the fucking music
