23 miles long, 1 Mile wide, average depth 132 metres, maximum depth 227 metres.Second deepest loch afterLoch Morar and second largest by surface area after Loch Lomond. Ness however holds the largest volume of all the water in the UK. It holds more water than all the lakes, resovoirs, rivers in England and Wales combined. In the sheltered shallows are where fish spawn their eggs (thousands of minnows).

@lesschoenberger3070 Loch Ness is bitterly cold. Most will swim only to waist deep in certain locations as it plummets to an average depth of 132 metres, which is deeper than the North Sea's average depth of 95 m. It never ever freezes, and the temperature never exceeds 5 degrees celcius. I would be scared also lol
