Great informative videos Keith! Do you service analogs for the general public? I have many vintage gems that have been in storage for more than 15 years and would like to set up mystudio again. I suspect they will need someone of your skill set.
Lawrence Grapentine Hi Lawrence. Yes, I do general synth repairs, but only if you can get your equipment to Toronto (Canada). I don't take repairs through the mail.
Keith, Thanks for getting back. I'm in Cleve. so it wouldn't be that big of a deal coming to you.You are closer than shipping to New York or L.A. anyway. I'm setting up my analog studio after 15 plus years in moth balls. I'm trying to get Dave Yost from Pi corp here in Cleveland (whom I bought most of my gear from years ago) but he is busy running the electronic music dept at Cleveland State U. Maybe you have heard of him. I just need someone to service and tune up the stuff. I have a 2600, sh-5, cr8000, juno60, sec cir 700 programmer, just to name a few. I want to do this over the summer into fall. I'll be in touch. I'll use your e-mail. Thanks again.... Larry... E-mail ofc451@gmail.com
It would be difficult to determine how many Model 800 sequencers have the 10-bit DAC without doing a survey of existing owners. Regarding odd time signatures... the Model 800 doesn't count beats or "ticks" like most sequencers. There is no concept of a bar, or sequence length, or quantization. It simply times how long each key-down event lasts for, and how much time is between key-down events. You play anything into it, with any timing, and it will simply replicates your timing when it plays back your sequence.
Thanks for documenting this. Very interesting.
Good work Keith.
Great video! I really enjoy your channel. Thank you. :-)

Couple questions. How many of these earlier versions with the 10-bit dac do you think exist? And, how would one program odd time signatures?
