    I got my rt82 about 2 months ago, set it up just like you did and it sounds great, really happy with it and play it just about every day 🙂

    Ordered an RT82 yesterday in the Bamboo color. Love the way the black components pop out against the Bamboo. Took me a while to research which turn table i wanted but really glad I came across this one.
    I’ll definitely be coming back to this video to set up my RT82!

    Hello Sir, just bought a Fluance RT82. I had a Dual CS515 for about 30 years, and was time to change it. You explained very patiently all the steps, and the calibrating step has been very useful for me. You took the time to make the video to help others, much appreciated, and I wanted to sincerely thank you. All the best, Cheers from Québec, Canada.

    I just picked one up. I love it. My old Deutsche Gramaphon vinyls are so crisp. It's a small feature but a lovely one, the dampening feet at the front of the dust cover and the dampened cuing arm.. Now that was a nice touch. Thank you for the thorough run through.

    My RT83 arrived yesterday. This was very helpful (haven't connected it yet, need to raise my TV a few inches). On a sad note, I unboxed my 80 or so LP's going back to the early 70's and it dawned on me that all my Queen albums are missing ☹. ll, Sheer Heart attack, News of the World, Jazz, Night at the Opera. And a couple Brand X albums as well. Breaks my heart. I know I can buy them again but they were all purchased on release.

    The 33 RPM speed is rounded it's actually 33 and a third. So it's a good thing you didn't try to make it closer to 33 or that would have actually put it further away from where it should be.

    Yeah my room is super dusty too so I gotta keep the dust cover on which is sad because half the reasons I got into vinyl was because you can watch it spin lol

    Wow the last person I watched and who set theirs up, DID NOT follow those instructions! There is a reason Fluance wrote those instructions in order, This was much more helpful.

    Hey Paul cool video. Back in the Day I had a very expressive Turntable. The Turntable was an Acoustic Research. Then I out on a Kinda Basic Tone Arm,then installed a Grado Cartridge. All together Retail was like close to $700 ,but I worked at the Stereo place called HiFi Buys for it all at cost. The platter weighed like 6lbs, Turntable was a beautiful Wood.

      @@pauly7218 Hell yeah yes it was. Back then was the absolutely the best not only listening to Music, but going out and buying your stereo system, or then adding and or upgrading you system. It was a whole experience Back then, sometimes not only was performance important, but so was the look of a piece,it was almost like buying furniture. Because let's face it, alot of people back then had their Stereo System in the Living Room. Ford your Guests to see. .
      I remember just the process of picking out components. You would hear or read about their performance, talk with friends then compare to other brands. Then once you narrowed it down to like two, then go in to the stereo stores then listen to each one back and forth. Then have a Discussion with the salesman. Then after that stand there for another 10-15mins deciding. And then take the plunge and choose.
      Then how great you felt at the register paying.
      Then the ritual of sitting down and unboxing it, And reading the Manual from front to back like it was a well written Novel.
      Ok Paul am I painting the picture for you back then LOL 😆😆

    Great video Paul. Love my new rt82 as well! About to rebalance my tonearm to make sure perfectly level and never new about alignment, so going to check that as well. Still trying to decide on the best exterior phono as an upgrade from the sound of my Sony STR DH190 amp's built-in through my Sony SS CS5 speakers. Decent sound for my budget start but I think I can get more from the proper pairing to the OM10. It doesn't have as many reviews these days so it's been hard to decide which phono to go with for best synergy. Any thoughts? Thanks again and just subscribed. Looking forward to more.

    Great video. Is there a groove on the outside of the platter for the belt to sit in?

    • @broeheemed32
      @broeheemed32 Рік тому

      It doesn't need one. The the groove is in the motor spindle, which holds it at the correct height, perfectly level and aligned with the platter.

    Hi Paul, I just found your channel and I am enjoying your RT82 set up video. I have ordered one too and it should arrive in a few days. Just a quick question. What are you using for your pre-amp. It looks like it is your receiver. If not, what are you using? Thanks
    BTW, I live in Vegas too.

    I've been having an ungodly hard time setting up the tone arm
    I can't see what you're doing with your right hand in the video on that counterweight. Could you explain it?

    • @pauly7218
      @pauly7218  9 місяців тому

      Let me try to help. First off, the weight just pushes on and kind of clicks with a bit of force. Once on, you can then dial it in adding more or less down force. Once one, just dial the entire weight to balance the tone arm. Once at the balance point, hold the big part of the weight so it doesn't turn and turn the small black numbered part to zero. You are now balanced and set to zero. Now, turn the big part to the proper setting and you are done. I hope that helps. If not, reply again and I will try and be clearer....

    33.23 is less than 0.1 percent off. That’s well within measurement error. Also, cartridge has a lot to do with the color of the sound. I’m planning on eventually upgrading my 82 to the 85 parts.
    Good video, though. Thanks. Here’s yer upthumb!

    Believe it or not but rt80 rt81 much easier to set up with ribbon under plate. Aside from cartridge and feet which I don’t like that screwing feet up or down. It looks cheesy. The form factor of the 80 81 easier. Mainly 81 solid plinth. Plus it comes no phono stage I understand its fir people that want total control but both 80 81 have the switch to bypass I mean fluance saves money this way. Save your money get a 80 or 81. If the 82 is only about 50 bucks or so higher go for it. If it’s 100 forget it. Not worth the upgrade.
