Awwww Brian😢 my best friend's husband died of cancer this week. He was obseesed with 90's hip hop... we played this ( just the prayer) at his funeral. Thank you for this Brian.
I absolutely love this beat man, that haunting angelic choir over the chorus is amazing. DMX has a catalogue I've never grown tired of. Always go back to it.
That prayer was best listened to when he preformed it live at concerts . Even Jay Z said he hated following that on stage because he would get the crowd so hyped . Keep them coming Big Boom 💥
I hope he found his peace in death that he couldnt quit find in life. He was a wild one though just like Prodigy...God wants his warriors on Earth & He knows it wont be easy.Dont forget Christ wasnt "soft",he walked amongst the thieves, murderers, thugs ect ect & they didnt kill him,he said what needed to be said & kept it movin;)
12:42 X was a passionate person. He would often become so overwhelmed onstage, especially during prayer, that he would weep uncontrollably. I have a real soft spot for Earl Simmons. What he had to go through especially as a child is unimaginable. I can only assume that played a role in his mental illness. And even though he never completely was able to stay out of trouble, it was palpable to me that he truly loved Jesus and despite the enemy torturing him, his heart yearned for the Lord. It's not where you are in the battle as if it's a giant race with a designated start and finish, it's about where each individual us today compared to where they were yesterday. As the rapper Burden put it in his song Holy, "I know I'm a sinner getting better slowly / Really a believer, I don't need to keep lowkey / No need / Say i ain't making deals with the devil, boy, I'm holy"
Thanks, Jay! When I reacted to Slippin' knowing that DMX had already passed, I got a little choked up. Hearing it while he was alive is a much different experience (I would think) than hearing it after he was already gone.
DMX is the first artist in the history of music (not just rapper)to have his first 5 albums debut at #1 and go platinum. I believe Drake has since passed that with 6 but DMX will always be the first. A song you should listen to by DMX is "The Rain" from the Grand Champ album.
Jay-Z said in an interview that DMX was tough to follow at a concert. He would play his hardcore and hype raps first for the crowd. Then he would get at the women with his songs geared towards them. Then he would say a prayer and play his deep songs where he would leave everybody at awe and sad. He would then toss the mic to Jay-Z and say "Your up" 😅. Jay-Z has said that DMX was one of his most competitive rappers. I never really listened to this song until today. Similar to "The Convo" from his first album "It's Dark and Hell is Hot"
@ABoomerReacts yah.. even though it's from the heart, once you hear it, you skim past it. I need to listen to his "Flesh of my Flesh, Blood of my Blood" album again. His first album was too good.
One of my favorite DMX songs. I’m ready to meet him cause I’m at ain’t right
This song was difficult to hear for the first after he had already passed. But Slippin' was worse.

Aw, I'm so sorry for your loss.

He'll always be in rotation on my channel.
This prayer is to feel how it gives you energy and connects you with the Lord 🙏🏼🩷💨
deep song, im not religious but i admire the dialogue with his deity
DMX always prayed and had a relationship with the lord.
One of my favorite songs of all time
This song brought me closer to God as a youngn.
DMX would be proud.

I hear you. I just don't like when genius leaves our planet too soon. "Too soon" from my selfish opinion.
Those last few lines of him saying "I'm ready to meet Him" was kind of eerie with his death and all.
I agree. But Slippin' is the one that got to me, having not heard it or any DMX songs until after his death.
Amazing song
BRIAAAAAN !!! Gots some catching up to do . DMX is in my top 3 rappers. Got me threw some tuff.
He's near the top of my list, too

You need the award for Outstanding Animation😎
Haha! Thanks! I had fun making it.

I agree. The rain is favorite DMX song.

Thanks, Patrick! If you were to put this song on your playlist, would you leave The Prayer II off?

I gotta Recommend Ras Rass - Interview With a Vampire. I know you will love it
Thanks! You just remined me that I haven't reacted to Ras Kass. Interview is def on my list. Hopefully a reaction this month.
I think you'd definitely like "No Love 4 Me" - it's a very upbeat bouncy song
Thanks, Harry! That's a new one for my list.
@@ABoomerReacts Oh yay! Didn't know there were any DMX songs that hadn't been requested yet
Haha! me either.@@HarryWilmington
I think you should listen to Nas - Deja Vu, it was never officially released on an album but is considered by many to be one of his best songs.
That is a popular request on my Nas list. It'll probably be my next Nas reaction.
@@ABoomerReacts nice to hear!
Also do more tech n9ne come gangsta would be great 😊
That appears to be one of the more popular requests on my Tech N9ne list. It'll be my next Tech reaction.
Your The best
Surprisingly no profanities in this DMX song 😂
Cuz God gets final approval.
will you still be doing the woodie reaction im the one who sent the email about 2 weeks ago
It's still on my list but my list is huge. First come, first served.
makes sense, no worries
Do go to sleep dmx !¡!!
Thanks, Chryz! I'll put it on my list.
If you liked the dialogue between him and God you should check Joe Budden Pray for me
Thanks, Eric! The song is def on my list; and you're the second person since Friday to mention it. Must be good!
