Captain Avatar was really the hero of the Quest for Iscandar. As the doctor said, he held the old Argo together with his bare hands. He taught Derek Wildstar how to lead, and it shows in the Comet Empire episodes.

Mike Murphy, totally agree! Captain Avatar was the father figure of the Star Force it was his guidance that got them through their trip to Iscandar, and his spirit through Derek Wildstar that helped them defeat the Comet Empire! His leadership made the Star Force the coherent crew that could get through anything! No crew in the EDF had their teamwork and friendship towards one another! It showed when Wildstar reunited then all!

These early episodes were after the run of Wonder-Three, Gigantor, Marine-boy, Kimba the white lion, & Speed racer, but just before Battle of the planets, (kaganinjatai gatchaman), Gundam, and the Carl Macek combined anime serials, Superdimentional Fortress Macross. etc.

This opening music title is just so amazing. Awesome. Good lyrics in English or Japanese, which is often not the case when American company keeps the original music and tries to add English lyrics.
The music is wat makes it so good! I remember the first night u started watching this with my dad I could not get the theme out of my head cause it's so CATCHY!! I love it so much!

The first installment and the comet empire saga was the best, I can't say the same for the bolar wars third installment, it was boring and totally different in a bad way.
I have to agree. The Bolor Wars were not worked on as hard. The Comet Empire was the best. If they took the Bolor Wars and redone it, changed the story. It would have been better. 🙄

So the order is: Quest for Iscandar, The Bolar Wars and The Comet Empire?
It's Iscandar, Comet Empire, and then Bolar Wars. You'll notice the voices in the Bolar episodes are all different, because they were done so long after the first two series that they couldn't find any of the original actors.
Also the second Yamato movie, which is about the Comet Empire with a different ending. The Comet Empire series then expanded on the movie and had a new ending.
