JSU lost the field show. You should have come here with new music for 1. The Drum majors need to be in uniform. The J-settes need to all perform, stay on the field perform quit running behind the band members, stop all the flipping and dance. The drum majors not in uniform is never a good look. It’s time to become more creative with your field show. You can be more creative with your style. You don’t have to change your style and become NCAT but you can ad-lib your routine a little bit. Two step or electric slide or something. Drum majors not in uniform just look like 4 brothers doing the same old dance. Stay in uniform. Your full uniform including your hat. One band one sound, one band one look.

You know how hard it is to get 10+ PLAYING piccolos in tune? be grateful. also they sound good you fucking hater.
@@aclosetedthespian come on now if others bands can get talked about so can others folks kill me calling ppl haters but su fans hate on. Other bands daily let someone say something about su they're a hater come on it's another's opinion I like the arrangement but no band gets a acception for criticism. Other bands can balance out pics so can su. But clearly woodwinds are ignored In su bands have been.for years but I like the arrangement
@@aclosetedthespian little child, are you easily throwing a temper tantrum? First off, if you are a TRUE musician tuning 10 piccolos is quite easy. It's an instrument called a TUNER! I play your note and it tells you if you are Flat or sharp. If all 10 do it then you all are IN TUNE! SU clearly doesnt do that seeing that the band is many times out of tune.
newdirection6182 you must be someone that doesn't play a piccolo because its just not that easy. a real musician would be fully aware how difficult it is to get one piccolo in tune with an ensemble let alone ten with each other. you also must just be an avid band watcher and not a musician to think you can tune one note and magically the whole horn is in tune. if you are then you must be a shitty one. just say you enjoy incorrectly critiquing young adults because it gives your small little sad ass life meaning. As a musician that has played the kennedy center the Rockefeller center and more ON A PICCOLO I know that they sound great for a group of 10+ piccolos playing outside at a fucking football game after marching a fieldshow. kiss my and their asses.
@@newdirection6182 Please understand that because they are outside, the elements have and will affect their intonation. And because everyone plays differently, itll make some sharper or flatter than others. And being that the range of the piccolo is soo high, it only takes a little bit of being out of tune to really make a difference. For their to be 10 piccs out there, they actually did pretty well. - A flute major
It sounds like a few chords are clashing...
They aren't clashing, it's just that it's a different sound from how other bands would arrange it. Have to add some more stuff into parts to differentiate your arrangement from others.
It sound that way a little, but they're not clashing. Musically that's called dissonance and it was purposely written that way.
I'm an arranger myself so I understand what dissonance is and I know a purposely written clashing harmony. I also know about part variations for arrangement differentiation... I don't feel that it was any of the above, and it just was not musically pleasing at some spots in the song. I believe they were just caught slipping in the intonation department IMO. The Human Jukebox is indeed HUMAN. Subpar execution on a pretty solid arrangement.
You can play an Ab all day, but if it's out of tune, it will never sound correct. Also, there is the possibility of completely wrong notes altogether. The second or third trombone/trumpets could be missing the accidental on the 3rd or 5th of a given chord. And that would stick out like a sore thumb! I guess kinda like it did...and that is only one of many possibilities it could be. It would make more sense if we were talking jazz theory, which can be implemented into marching band arrangements, of course...but this is just Can We Talk.
