Wenn ich mir die Leute damals und heute so angucke, dann frage ich mich, was da wann und wie aus dem Ruder gelaufen ist
Exactly! Same here... we have fallen so far in every western country... the rot started in the 1960s but has accelerated to almost the point of no return... it is a tragedy. I don't know how we can regain what we have lost...
@@daveweiss5647 The rot started in stride with the advent of the television and its TV "programming" then ultra TV we call the internet was pedal to the metal. By the late 1960's many of the television and cinema moral codes were laxed(research Hay's Code wikipedia for one example), our grandparents were knowing of the power of film on the populace and thus tethered the media producers a bit.
The Amish have changed very little in the past 100 years and their society and culture are healthy to the core(WHY?). I know this may seem radical but its hard to put advancements back in the box, its a Pandora's Box story in a way. But without universal electricity much of these advancements that influence the masses will not function and thus permanent power grid failure, for what ever reason, could be a blessing. The very early 20th and late 19th centuries were very moral times as well as prosperous in which many lived in nice attractive crafted homes, read books, played pianos at home. dressed decently nice with good fabric and enjoyed many mechanical inventions that required no electricity, this is the era to strive for to cure the societal disease we are experiencing today.
Hi! Beautiful photos, thanks for your hard work!!!👍🙂
Thank you so much!
I loved this videos , thanks so much for sharing .❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it
Thanks for another great video! I know it was very tough times...but I don't care... I would rather have lived in that time...
Well, if you were in Chicago, you may have ended up riddled with bullets. Or if you were black and in the south, you'd be beat up regularly by the police.
2:21 That is Clara Bow, Hollywood actress. She was a big star in the silent days (1920s).
Colorized photos really make the people look modern and in touch with modern ideas. I've always wondered about the reactions of people back in time, to such things as jet aircraft, helicopters, tanks, etc. Go back to the Civil War and show a common soldier a jeep, machine gun, A10 warthog. How long to get over the culture shock. Medieval women shown an operating washing machine, refrigerator, gas/electric stove. How long from fear, to confusion, to interest to acceptance?
Thank you so much. Real 1920-30s spirit.
I really appreciate it
Merci pour avoir mis en ligne cette pépite historique des années 20/30. C était le temps du charleston et l époque d Al Capone et de la célèbre brigade de police les incorruptibles avec Elliot Ness .🤗
Thanks for sharing ❤
Some great photos there thanks!
Good video
Thank you!
4:42 The caption here was incomplete. Why people were let so close to a body would be an interesting story if you put it out in full.
excellent
Thanks
@2:25 = Movie actress CLARA BOW
The "well armed Capone mob" at 5:10 looks more like cops to me especially because the street map on the wall behind them looks like something cops would have at the precinct.
It could have been police officers posing with a Capone gang seizure and was mislabeled. It was close to 100 years ago and accuracy was not paramount. It’s OK.
8:11 Lucky Luciano was indeed a brilliant gangster but none of the three men pictured is Luciano.
Yea Prohibition, you can get 6 months in prison for using that word here in Ireland. Using it in a comment is taking a risk.
9:38. This woman doesn’t look as if this is an old photo !
She is quite stunning, I must admit.
0:49 "Have you ever RUN from the police...?" The verb is present-tense RUN, past-tense RAN, but past participle in compound tenses like this: HAVE RUN, HAD RUN, HAVING RUN. It fools a lot of youngsters because past-participle looks like the present-tense more than the past-tense.
Yep. So many of these videos have horrible grammar. Some as people saying THESE ONES.
I am not a " sir", thank you very much
Love the photos but please don't put in a modern unexpected to believe the 1920,,s
I wonder what happened later to two (15&16) looting girls. Does anybody watching here knows it ?
Where did you go to school?
Phony pics
This video has been every entertaining, but I don't think that some of the pictures shown were from the 1920's and/or 1930's. They look too modern. In any event, it was a very wild time during the Prohibition era. It should never have happened. Prohibition gave rise and power to organized crime. Thank you for these lovely photos of the early part of the 20th century.
Curious what is too modern looking to you? Suits haven’t really changed in a century for example….
Define "too modern". Also, these photos have all been recently colorized using a computer to bring them more to life. Don't be an idiot.
I don't appreciate being called an idiot. Whe the hell are you to call me that? You are an asshole.@@bobblowhard8823
@@bobblowhard8823 I don't appreciate being called an idiot. Have more respect for those making comments here.
@@auroratorres7873 My apologies, sir.
What the hell is it with that bloody music wrong put music of the era. Otherwise great.
