    1x PCB (copper lines): s.click.aliexp...

    In the second part of the LED Bar I will talk about how I made the light diffusion for the top shelf even better. But the main focus of this part will be the construction of a backplate for the bar, so that no light of the LED matrix can escape through the back.

    Heating up the hot glue with a heat gun or hair dryer will weaken it for removing glued things like the switch and potentiometer.

    Great video, I appreciate the detail you had, and the magnetic panel is an elegant solution.

    A small correction in English jargon; the wood board you call chip board is plywood.
    Interesting project. Love your openness.

    The bar looks really great!
    One thing that might be nice is to add a bit of an interactive element to your bar. A game of tetris perhaps?

    • @greatscottlab
      @greatscottlab  9 років тому +2

      vidm96 I thought about this too. And I am sure it will happen after the matrix videos. But I prefer Pong instead of tetris.

    For removing hotglue just use some drips of pure alcohol (propylenglycol or something else) drip it on der wood an glue, wait some seconds and the parts nearly fall of :)

    • @SparDampfer
      @SparDampfer 9 років тому

      damn not propylenglycol i mean isopropanol (german name, don't know how it's called in english)

    Hex scott, I have rather big problems:
    I am not able to compile the code, there its always saying me that compiling is not possible because of something in the FastLED Library! I have Arduino 1.6.5 and downloaded all the necessary files etc but it does not work!
    Btw other AttinyCodes work properly!
    What might be the solution? Do you have any Ideas what i can do?
    Regards

    I know this is unrelated, but how do you like your uni-t UT61D multimeter? I was looking at the UT61E but its screen update rate is only once every .5 seconds! Is the UT61D better?

    Hi Scott, I was wondering. Do I really need the arduino when I have a raspberry pi 1B+ or pi 3? cant I just connect the leds to the Pi itself using it as the controller?

      AWTCU 10€ frame + 50€ plexiglass + 0€ cardboard + 24€ LEDs + 10€ wire + 5€ Arduino + 20€ bits and pieces = 119 €
