I’ve tried over 100 meds over the last 25ish years & my depression/agitation/ocd/general anxiety/sense of dread is so treatment-resistant that I’m feeling suicidal 98% of the time. Tired of trying..
Recently my current psych wanted me to start clomipramine however I’m hesitant as the first time I tried a tricyclic (nortriptyline) I became much worse, even psychotic which I otherwise doesn’t happen to me. I’m so desperate but can’t imagine this will be the one pill that works after almost an entire life of hell :(

I found out when reading pharmacological profile of the drugs used to minimize OCD behaviour ( now- SSRI and clomipramine) ( some ago- neuroleptics like pimozide) that often they work antiserotonine action instead of proserotonine action. And they often work on 5HT7 receptor to block that receptor and sometimes block D4 receptor also. And clomipramine is proserotonine but also antidopaminergic. A little, but it is blocking dopamine receptors

    Dear Robert,
I'm going in for a psychiatric assessment next week. I've never officially been diagnosed bit have been on many types of ssri's snri meds. Nothing has really helped that much since I still constantly feel up and down agitated and anxious. It's really hard for me to explain my emotions so what is the best way for me to give the psychiatrist the insight needed in order to diagnose me properly?

if you have noticeable ups and downs you are most likly bi polar. ask a psych about medications like lamictal or something along those lines. lithium orotate is something you should try and it is quite safe. im not talking about lithium carbonate what psychs prescribe but i am specifically talk about lithium OROTATE. it has the same affect at a lower dose so it does not hurt your organs like high dose lithium does. but talk and mention these things to your doctor and come up with the best plan
