I love your videos. We live in a converted school bus and this year we are starting what will probably be a 2 year trip throughout the West - NM, AZ, UT, MT, WY, ID. I have been watching a TON of your videos to help with planning. Thank you!
BetterWayLiving: Having traveled and camped through all of the states you mentioned (when I was a child), REMEMBER TO BRING LAYERS OF CLOTHING! The Rockies can be in the 80 degrees during summer days and drop into the 40’s at night! Arizona, not so much! It could be 115 degrees during the day and only cool down to the 90’s at night! Good luck on your trip and take a lot of pictures! My mind is already bringing up scenery that you will see! Each state is beautiful in its own way. I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip!
Thank you so much! It took a lot of work. Checkout my 2hr ish Glacier NP video- skip this segment. it took over 30 days to shoot and 100s of hrs to edit and narrate.
I've only watched the first few minutes of your video and already your photos and video are in the top five best I've seen about the Park. I guess I'll have to tune into more of your other videos. I'm subscribed to your channel.
Thanks that's nice to hear. Now I have a question for you- Is it the writing or the voice- I'm very curious what folks things are more impactful. I did both but am very curious.
Very impressive video. You’re a great presenter. Thanks for taking the time to create such helpful content. P.S. Thanks for debunking the “Inconvenient Truth” false science. 👍🇺🇸
That was a great video and brought back some memories of when I was there about 12 years ago, although when I was there it was rain and mist so the views were quite limited. Maybe it's time for a repeat trip.
thanks for the comment! Subscribe to my channel to see many more videos on the park. The what to know Before you go 2024 video will help u plan your trip.
@@TheWestisBig Like yourself, I like the east side, yup every morning for a while for Many Glacier, as they don't dump once a month anymore. but there is always before 6AM to be had.
We will be staying in East Glacier at the end of June. We want to travel the GTTSR beginning at St Mary’s but will we be able to turn around and drive back the same way without a pass? Just curious if we have to drive back to the cabin a different way. Thanks for the video!
I was so happy to find your site. What is the best time to plan to go. We were there years ago and the Sun Road was closed in June due to heavy snowfall.
When you enter from the East Entrance, can you travel the full length of the Going to the Sun Road and then come back through, or do you have to exit at the Apgar Checkpoint on the West side? Thanks! I love your videos!
Thanks and please subscribe if you haven't' already. that's a good question. They check for res tickets west of the main west gate- so I think you'll be fine in Apgar. I wouldn't exit the west gate. When the Sun Road is open the park web site will post more and better info.
Love the video and the information. I am planning to visit mid May . Do you know if the alpine usually open in May? It is winter now and they are closing the alpine.
The alpine section is rarely open in May. They didn't get much snow this year though. The park web site has a "Where are the plows page" which can give you a hint. They typically start plowing in about a month.
@@TheWestisBig the park's website said vehicle reservation is required from May 24th to Sept 8th. But didn't say what happens after Sept 8th. From other resources, they show the going to the sun road usually close on the third Monday of Oct but will depend on weather. So my interpretation is after 9/8/2024 the road is free for everyone no need reservation as long as the weather permits? I just want to make sure before flying out. Will probably call them again. But thank you!
Thanks for the video,it was very informational.I want to know if someone enters from the St Mary entrance(east),can they drive thru the park and exit from the west entrance?
I suppose you know some of Louis and Clark's group got close, they were chased away an nearly killed by the Blackfeet and a grizzly. The glaciers currently in the park were at their biggest in about 1850. So that would have been a great time to be there. The "little ice age" (1300-1850) ended about that time and glaciers started melting again. So, yes the would have been a great time to be there.
Hi, Thanks a lot for nice video. We can only plan to go on 1st week of August due to other plans. Do you think there will still be some snow or glacier to see? Is it worth going in August 1st week or I better plan next year to visit on June end so that I can have mix of nature, snow & Glacier? (I am medium hiking person with 2 kids -medium hike /max 6 Miles/day)
There isn't much snow this year. I wouldn't expect snow to be near the road. The Glaciers have been visible for decades and will continue to be. Since you're a first timer you should subscribe and watch my "What you need to know video for 2024" and one of my hiking videos- one is 2 hours long and will help you choose a trail that's best for your group.

Check the Park’s website for the exact date

Yes the road is fully open until weather or construction closes it in Oct. the website updates road status when things change.

There are people who check for vehicle reservations occasionally
Great video! I wonder if you will need one pair of outdoor boots for your activities?
Do you want to pay me to advertise your product?
We will have a budget for this, how is your quote?@@TheWestisBig
$5000 for 30 seconds- but I looked at your channel. Your boots are not for hiking- this is not a match
I would have loved to seen it 1850 but then again it would take months to transverse😊

@@TheWestisBig Thanks a lot.. Sure will see the video.
BTW- in recent years the Sun Road didn't open until late June or even early July.
Do not go in June if you plan to try to do going to the sun road. It’s not usually open until July. There will always be snow
I am taking amtrak to the west side. Is there a bus tour available to the GTTSR at this time of year?
the GTTSR doesn’t open till June- often late June depending on weather / snow. The red bus tours don’t start until the lodges open.
Bring my family to whitefish from Central Alberta - how accessible are the "closed roads" given that the temperature is around 10-15 degrees Celsius.
they’re closed with gates- usually because of deep unplowed snow
Glacier NP is most beautiful Park located in Montana State where is most beautiful State in USA.

Logan pass if full before 7am.
thanks for the info
So can I enter east side without a pass ?
You still need a park pass but from the east entrance you don’t need a reservation as well. You need a res from the west entrance between 6am and 3pm
Thanks
