    Thanks for the clear explanation champ. Did a blade change then next minute no idea how to goes back together. Should have looked at your pod firstly.

    This helped me get my guard back when I removed to many components trying to change the blade.

    Thanks for posting. Changed blade and spring came out. Your short video helped me put it back together.

    I was really surprised how much cutting power (and torque) this saw had out of the box. I've used other (10" saws) previously and was pretty surprised with the speed and cutting ability of this Dewalt saw.I have bolted mine to a table to minimize movement which I highly recommend.This is a Great saw ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe with a light to see your cutting line (not a laser line).I'd recommend this saw fro anyone looking to upgrade from a 10" miter saw.

    Hi, did you do a video of you setting the spring? I cant see mine in the window like you showed on the video. And I think thats what my problem is. I can see the spring coiled up but know ends. Is it a muscle job to fight to get the spring ends in the right place? Thanks

    • @markbeuligmann7363
      @markbeuligmann7363  4 роки тому +1

      Lynne, do you have the same model saw? If so, I could post a photo on my website showing you where the ends of the spring are. This is not a strong spring. It should be easily manageable. You don't even have to preload (bend) it very much to put it into place.

      Thanks, John! Just finished watching a sermon online with my wife when I saw your comment. I shot this video when the same thing happened to me. I was able to figure out how to reinstall the spring and I thought other folks might benefit from my experience.

    Hi Mark, a friend has an Ozito CMG-411 sliding compound mitre saw 1800W. She bent the link arm that operates the guard, which I've straightened, however, when operating the saw - the end of the link arm is pressing hard on the tab that it follows making it hard to operate. Do you know of anything that may be causing this, or can point me to an exploded drawing/video, that will show me how it operates. cheers Colin Jeffs

    • @markbeuligmann7363
      @markbeuligmann7363  2 роки тому +1

      Colin, sorry but I'm not familiar with the Ozito saw. I Googled to find a manual, but I'm not sure it's the same model. I would probably have to see the miter saw itself to diagnose the problem.

      @@markbeuligmann7363 Thanks for the reply Mark. The guard return spring plate assembly is very similar to the one in your video clip above. The end of the link arm applies pressure to the tab on the spring retaining plate, which is on the inside of the guard. In our assembly the link arm seems to be losing contact with the Tab, which leads to the guard jamming. I'm planning to have another look at the assembly tomorrow. Shall take pics , which may help unravel this enigma!

    THANK YOU ! One thing some worthless "person" broke into my shop & stole was my Dewalt dual-bevel sliding compound miter saw, but they left my Makita that had been holding down the tarp on my firewood for 2 years. My Makita works just as well as it did when I got it thiry years ago.

    • @markbeuligmann7363
      @markbeuligmann7363  4 роки тому +1

      GB, Thanks for your comment! Sorry your DeWalt took a walk. My miter saw was about as cheap as they come - $70 - hardly worth stealing, but it has done everything I needed it to do for years now. (I know you don't need this next bit of advice, GB. Sounds like you've been at it for many years.) For beginners, it's important to realize that there are stops and settings on your miter saw that need to be checked when you first get your saw. Spend some time making sure the fence is perpendicular to the saw blade, and that the saw blade, when set at zero, is perpendicular to the table. That investment will keep you from ruining projects.

    THANX..................had it 180* out and just couldn't get passed it...................... Guard was binding and needed more [pull arm adjustment] in the woopy. Bent opposite sides in a vice, and maintained the exaggerated "V" by placing a "D ring" straddling the "V" on opposite faces of the pull arm. While using the vice to straighten. Bending Fork might work.....

      Heriberto, I will try to do that soon. I think several others would like to see that as well. I'll have to disassemble the cover, and I won't have time to do that for a few days.

      It's because some of us have little to no experience on how to take the blade off and we unscrew the wrong screw and I also had the back piece fall into the saw when I was taking it apart and I couldn't find the pics I was wondering how it would look like and how it put it together and fortunally and there is no instructions on how to anywhere finally I figured it out by looking at your video thanks the spring end goes inside tho small hole on the black metal piece.... thanks for your video was very helpful

    I think the key thing is just remove the bolt and let the guard drop. Don't remove the center bolt. All smiles now.

    Too much saw dust on guard, I can't see the spring through it.

  • @itchyego

    It would have been most helpful had you simply shown the other side of the guard to see how the spring part was assembled. Frustrating!

      Ken, I'm sorry this quick 'n dirty video wasn't helpful to you, but as I said in my original note on it, I only meant to leave it up long enough to help one person who had asked for it. I've been amazed at the number of views. It has outstripped several of my more in-depth and polished videos.

    That isuch ad I can yell ya? Really you DA anyone can see the spring ,installation is the issue, it's DA's like you that get on here just to hear themselves talk. Next time offer some vital input before you get on here. Geez what a DA!

      Funny you see to be the only DA responding in a negative way. Maybe you need to play it in slow motion so your teeny tiny brain can absorb the simple facts in the video. Seems everyone else got the point DA!

    • @markbeuligmann7363

      Renatta, there's usually a button or lever you push to lock the blade and keep it from turning. Sometimes it's a hole you can poke a screwdriver through. When the blade is locked, loosen the bolt on the shaft by turning it clockwise. That's counter-intuitive, I know, but the threads are reversed to keep the bolt tight during operations. Everything should be straightforward from there. You probably already know this, but make sure the teeth on the new blade are pointing in the right direction.
