Wage Theft Stories: Carwash Industry

Journalist Sarah Jackson, in a project funded by The James Irvine Foundation, released Wage Theft Stories, a multi-media website featuring the stories of workers across California on the challenge of wage theft. Jackson’s reporting chronicles workers’ efforts to recover lost wages, and approaches by government and nonprofit leaders to aid workers and strengthen labor law enforcement.
Carwash workers in Los Angeles detail the harmful impacts of wage theft on their lives and explain how worker centers helped them recover lost wages and start their own business.
