Hey Ian, I love what you are doing. I do the same type of photography. I am a MTBer myself and have been shooting mountain biking for a couple years now. It has helped my local trail building groups get their message out and help garner support for building new trails and bike parks. It is really cool to see your channel because there arent many who have a channel like yours that shoots the same kinds of action sports I do. Thank you for taking the time to create and share the content. 🤘📸🚵‍♂️

Thanks Alex! I’ve been doing this for a long time and I love to share what I know, hopefully there will be some useful information for you! Let me know if there is anything specific you would like me to discuss.

@@IanHylandsPhotography Yes of course! I often use off camera flash and light placement can be a challenge because your subject is only so predictable, and trying to marry your conceptual intention for your image with the reality of what you have to work with is tough. I would love to hear about some tips to help with light placement while controlling ambient light and your shutter speed. New cameras are amazing with dynamic range so it is not difficult as it used to be. But some info on using and placing the lights would be amazing. Thank you for listening!

@@CofFDnSnaps I can about setting up regular sync (ie 1/250 and slower) and high speed or hypersync setups for action photograpy easily. I have a couple of videos on this topic planned, just need to get them started. I'm debating whether I need to explain topics like how shutter works in regard to sync speeds, and how flash duration fits into freezing action before I talk about setting up flashes.

@@IanHylandsPhotography That sounds great. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Can you do a long video or like a behind the scenes in how you set your flashes and the settings in your camera? I just got the godox tt685s and I want to use it as a strobe but I’m not really sure where should I point it to make it like really nice. Check out my Instagram dalaz01 and we can talk there

Yes for sure! It's something that a couple of other people have asked about as well. Also check out my blog posts on Instagram or here www.ianhylands.photography/Blog/Learn- I have a bunch of posts showing where my flashes were and what my settings were.
