- Hello! Here we are on this first Sunday in Lent. This Lenten hymn is set to a tune that sounds lament-ful, a bit haunting. Perfect for Lent, I think! And here again is another beautiful old text, "God of mercy and compassion, Look with pity upon me... Jesus, Lord, I ask for mercy..." May we grow in mercy and compassion towards others this Lent, and towards ourselves as well.
P.s. I got distracted as I was setting up for this video, so that's why I didn't realise that the blue sign was still visible, and the little red cardinal had fallen from his perch! 😁 It was only when I was getting it ready for upload did I even notice. Oops!
P.s.s. The Winterama festival and parade near our friend's cottage last weekend - it was very, very cold, but lots of small town fun!

God of Mercy and Compassion.. is perfect for Lent .. indeed .. it is a time to look honestly at ourselves … acknowledging our shortcomings.. our sinfulness.. our turning away from God and doing our own thing .. our own will .. and ask God for mercy and compassion .. beautifully sung, KT .. followed the links u provided .. thank you .. tune is a traditional French melody .. interesting.. as I noticed.. in Google .. the Winterama Festival is looked in Penetanguishene .. Ontario .. Canada about a two hour drive .. pretty much North of Toronto.. French and English are the two most spoken languages.. the town is located on the southeasterly tip of Georgian Bay .. how beautiful.. cool pictures of the parade .. brave .. joyful .. courageous folks .. discovered the temperature around 18 degrees .. burr.. so nice you can do these things .. ...And with the wind chill (especially by the water) it felt like 0 degrees F. (-15C). We couldn't stay for the whole parade, our toes were too cold! My husband and I went into a used bookstore (so much fun, I love used bookstores) and everyone else went back to our friends' cottage.🥶
