We are never shown Steve's desire to return to Peggy, or at least, it is nothing too present. Then of course Steve has his life and can manage it the way he wants, Bucky didn't prove himself against it, so no problem😅😅.

@@oliraviolii Just because it happened in the comics doesn't mean it would work in the MCU. The MCU is different from the comics and personally I don't think it would make sense. I understand why people are kind of mad that Steve left his best friend for a girl they think he didn't know that long, but I feel most forget that he actually faught side by side with Peggy through out the entirety of WW2, so he probably knows her quite well. I don't blame those who forget about this because honestly the movie did a horrible job of conveying it like they literally just montages through all of WW2. Also I've always thought Peggy and Steve's relationship was really sweet and wholesome, but that just comes down to personal preference. So I was happy when he finally got his dance with Peggy, but it was very bitter sweet because he's leaving behind Bucky and Sam, both of whom have been very loyal to him. I'm so conflicted about this and sorry that this is so long lol 😊.

And now that Bucky’s back in the game despite him explicitly showing that he doesn’t want to be, Steve just gonna bail out and take his leave? Bucky literally said that he didnt think that he was worth all of this. Steve still trudged along and tried his best to make sure that Bucky was happy and accepted. Steve left to be with someone who he knew had moved on, but didnt stay for the person who needed him the most. Bucky felt like he wasnt worth it, and Steve basically proved him right in hos mind, because he just _left!_ What?! Im with you tiol the end of the line my ass. Imagine how you would feel if your best friend put themself and you through so much shit, just for them to leave your ass behind. Doesnt fucking feel good. Bucky must feel like shit because he didnt think he was worth it to begin with, and then the one person who believed that he could be good ups and leavs him again. When Steve went back in time, he knew that he was going back to when he was with Peggy, but at the same time, Bucky is being _tortured_ by HYDRA. At the nd of the day, Steve doesnt deserve someone as great as Bucky. Bucky, who has been there for as long as he possibly could have been, thought he wasnt worth it, thought he wasnt good enough, but still supported his best friend's decision, even though it hurt himself. He was always supportive of Steve. And Steve left him. Nice job, Russos.

Endgame just makes their story so much more tragic especially from Bucky's perspective. I don't know if it was deliberate or not but Sebastian's acting suggest that Bucky feels very deeply for (see especially the moments in tfa that the video also highlights) and for the longest time we thought that devotion was mutual when Steve fought to get him back but with Steve choosing Peggy in the end...that must hurt Bucky so damn much. And no one can tell me that Bucky looks the slightest bit happy when he bids Steve farewell. He might know what Steve's gonna do and be happy for Steve in some capacity but I'm sure it hurts him. With Steve leaving their relationship just seems to become so much more one sided and that's so so sad.

I don’t even mind having Steve love Peggy. His friendship with Bucky was part of Captain America and although we see Bucky knowing that Steve wouldn’t come back. It’s still heart breaking because apart from before the war, you’ve never seen them being best friends with no fighting going on.
The other thing that annoyed me, is the fact that Steve has just condemned Bucky to being tortured and brainwashed for his entire life and that doesn’t sit right. He fought for Bucky the whole time. But when he gets to live his life. He stops fighting.
That was a bad move on marvels case and was one of the reasons why although endgame was UNBELIEVABLE, it didn’t fully feel closed off.
I don’t necessarily ship them. Purely because one of the things that draw me to them is their friendship and the links it has to my own friendships with people.
I just think marvel needed to have a definitive goodbye and scene where they can just talk. Cause we never see that and that is something I think we needed

Ugh okay it’s been months but I‘m still going to rant.
I‘m still so salty about how they messed up Steve. What Steve did at the end was so out of character for him, he‘d never leave the person behind who has been there for him since they were children. For the longest time Bucky has been his only friend and family, he followed Steve into everything and in the end even lost his arm and chance at a normal life all because he wouldn’t let Steve fight in the war alone. How does it make any sense for Steve to just leave him behind for a nice life with a woman he has know for maybe a month in the 1940s?? He knew that Peggy was fine, she found love and had a big family she was doing just fine. Bucky has spent decades being tortured by Hydra, and when he finally escaped them he still had nothing left to live for until him and Steve met again.
Steve’s ending could’ve been so powerful had he seen Peggy for one last time through her office window and instead of staying, he‘d make peace with their fate and just let her go. THAT would have been a life lesson. Letting go of all the things that could have been but never were, and accepting your fate instead of treating it as your enemy. But instead they taught us what? „Got any regrets in life? Better sulk about it every day until someone builds you a time machine!“ I get that the „love against all odds“ trope is popular but in this case it just made Steve look like someone he really isn’t. Living his best life in an alternate timeline in which he knows his best friend is being tortured? That’s something that goes against his core values. Period

Ok I read a theory that kinda calmed me down a bit, that after cap return to the past, he tried to set things right, and that dance with Peggy is just one of it. But cap found he couldn't change anything important enough, or it'll just get worse. And cap tried so long and so hard, and at the end, he finally decided to let it go, and used his last time to say a last good bye to the ones he knew.
And Bucky knew cap just so damned well, he might have guessed what cap wanna do before he go, and knew exactly what happened after Cap's back.
The one time Cap's being selfish, the one time he did something ignoring all others.
