Today's deck profile starts looking ahead at BT17. One of the major contenders in the upcoming format is going to be Ancientgarurumon! Keep in mind due to my very busy schedule, I haven't had time to playtest this one, but this has been a culmination of research off digimonmeta.com lists along with looking at primarily a discussion on how to potentially look at this deck. Let me know your thoughts on this one.

Minor correction because reading is hard.
Ancientgarurumon's Your Turn, Once Per a Turn effect is triggered when an effect adds cards to YOURS or your opponent's hand. Meaning when you draw a card, your opponent will add the top card of security to hand.
This deck is quite versatile I saw a list with the 2 cost Matt to gain 1 from ancient dying and having a purple source for chaos deg lmao.
I saw this one as well! Kind of hilarious to be honest. The Chaos degrade is good removal but the purple Matts can also come in and help you retain memory or even go for the memory choke.
My eyes rolled so far back once I seen ukkomon in this shit.

In the current format that is definitely true. Digimon Emperor poses a problem to many decks who want to raise up as level 3.

It's only a smidge awkward because of the timing. Regrettably, Gabubond ACE won't be making it's debut until December which is past the original timing of it's release in JP.

@Digi-Panda have you considered doing a Patamon armor rush profile? In BT17, Patamon gets his Digimental of Love evo, meaning he now has three armor forms. I have been toying around with my build, and the deck is pretty fun.
Lower on my radar of immediate decks for discussion for the time being.
I believe the most meta lists in Japan have 1 Beowulfmon and 1 JetSilphymon as level 5s.
My only concern at this point, is that because Japan has a BO1 format, how easily do some of these deck lists actually translate or are they simply high roll?
I've been testing with the blue base and running digimon emperor, full metal blaze and 2 of the new beowulf, besides, im also running only 6 Ukkos and it works so well
Definitely another valid option! With Wanyamon you do have a crap ton of tamers, so this also works.
Finally had a chance to open a ex1 set to get some analog youth for my Loogamon deck. I pulled 3 and found an option card that made the deck work surprisingly well and it was survival rate 60%.
Eyyyy very nice! EX1's an alright collection set.
@DIGI-PANDA Been needing to get the set for a while since I've seen many people recommending Analog Youth for deck I want to play. It was a good purchase, especially since not only did I find Win Rate 60% a decent option card, but I also pulled the alt art of Analog Youth.

I don't know if I'll be releasing these wallpapers anymore or the card images that I clean up personally. There was a potential individual who was using my previously released images for a playmat they were selling.
@@DIGI-PANDA Wow, that's a pretty negative thing to do. Asking for permission or paying for the cost of art should be commonplace, not the exception.
Rules question: Does the floodgate Gotsumon negate Partition?
Partition is a card effect that would play by card effect. Gotsumon would prevent a partition effect from triggering.
I feel like blue variant is more consistent compared to red base
I've seen a mix of variants on this one. Personally, I see the merits of both, depending on how the format shapes up. More Numemon? Red gives you access to Crimson Blaze. Blue? More consistency.
@@DIGI-PANDA yeah it feels like red base has a slightly higher ceiling and speed but the reliability to do so isn't there as much as in blue base

BTW, you say Hacker Judge is played, because of Blocker Control. Hacker Judge only gives Blocker and Barrier to Digimon with Pulsemon in Text, which is not the case here. It is because, you can digivolve on him and then pull him out from Sources at End of Turn
Correct! It's not the blocker aspect that I was focused on, more so the direct relation to blocker control that you utilize a mindlink tamer that can unslot itself to in essence always have a "level 3" Digimon in play for climbing back up the stack if you need it. Mindlink tamers in my mind were very deck specific but with new hybrid colors it makes the fact that you have an almost uninteractable source even better. If the top end can utilize the mindlinked tamers effect, even better.
I playing over Ice wall Venus just if you brick for defensive forces and only 1 yellow tamer and 3 lui but a good list

A lot of decks on digimonmeta.com were on the red base, and I think with the popularity of Numemon it does make sense.
I am a little surprised you did not include bt17 flamemon. As it can search for you hybrid pieces as it is not restricted by color.
It was briefly shown as a substitute should the Ukkomon engine get limited in some fashion.

Truthfully, in some ways, I agree. I was looking at digimonmeta.com to peruse the various lists and found many lists running this type of configuration. The most popular lists seemed to be the red base variant than blue base.
How does the yellow tamer help deal with blocker control?
It doesn't. I was drawing a parallel in the fact that the Hacker Judge tamer can be utilized similarly to Black blockers in which they can evo on hybrid, then perform end of turn effects in an order that maintains a memory fixer for the following turn.

Its text says " if an effect adds cards to yours or yours opponents hand" is it supposed to be "you or your opponent's hand"?
You are correct. I thought it was just opponent's hand, but it's either or. So if you draw or your opponent gets something bounced - value.

How likely is Ukkomon to be limited or banned in the future? It's a very good card and pretty powerful.
It's a great consistency piece that is very generically splashable. The big thing is here is that the meta is heavily dominated by decks that utilize 6-8 Ukkomons. Which is an indication at this point that it needs to probably go.

I observed some players were only on 1 Hacker Judge, but I can't deny seeing it more than once could be good.
THAT BEING SAID, considering Ancientgarurumon can reclaim a tamer from trash and play it, I can also see the justification.

Ukkomon is just too generic of an engine. I think in terms of general use it's worse than DeathXmon.
Not a bad deck. Just annoying that this is another deck where Ukkomon has made a home. Shame since a banlist will kneecap decks like Shakamon that rely on it.
The ultimate question at this point is will Bandai do a restriction of some form? Or will they leave it alone for a few more formats.
