i can't believe my introduction to jumpstyle was this. (edit: i'm well aware of hardcore and adjacent genres, but i somehow missed jump/hardstyle (fused together for simplicity) entirely.)
To be very blunt it was just a trend/fad like any other. But the reason why it remained so special to some is because they grew up with it and it took place when the internet was still growing, im talking about Hyves, MSN and when Wi-Fi wasnt even a thing yet. It managed to stay relevant around the 2010's untill shuffeling became a thing. Nowadays you only hear people talk about it mouth to mouth. I remember being dancing on Jekll and Hyde when i was 8 on a birthday party, it was absolutely bonkers.
You know why i love jumpstyle so much? I suffer from chronic migraines and pretty much everything loud, bright, annoying or exhausting gives me immense pain in the head....everything except jumpstyle or lofi. I just love something that i can finally listen to without having to take meds afterwards. My head is just very picky
