Petrol import covers 30-40% of our total import. For the past few years, due to Russia Ukraine war, the price of oil and gas is skyrocketing. India’s import bill is touching the ceiling. Oil is traded in USD. Import high, export less means demand of USD high, demand of INR less. Despite such obstructions, INR is fighting bravely and performing well against other currencies.
To control the inflation US increased fed rates as USD demand increased in the market as well as it got strengthened against all currencies. So, as per the above-stated words the conclusion says that the USD is strengthening, Rupee is not weakening but I will tell you one case when the actually Rupee weakened and that happened during 2008-14. The FED rate was 0 during 2010-14. Now check the dollar index of the last few years 2001-03. 2022 is the time when the dollar is very strong. During 2008-14 it was a time when the dollar was weak against all those 6 currencies. Now check the performance of Rs and USD during 2008 -2014 2008: 1 USD = Rs 40 2014: 1 USD = Rs 63 Even when the dollar was weak globally, Fed rates were 0, INR kept falling, and felt around 50%, That’s called Rupee was falling. So now you have all data, you know basic economics as well. But, the irony of our country is that the west-funded or sold media channels will never fail to degrade the integrity and dignity of their Own Country in front of their countrymen.
