DIY Zenon Disney Channel Original Movie Costume!

- For Mickey's Halloween Party this year, I went as Zenon Kar from the Disney Channel Movie Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century! Most of my costume was made in a day and cost less than $75. And it's completely NO-SEW!

I have a life size Jack Skellington that I put up for Halloween. Sculpted foam head covered in plaster, PVC pipe structure, pillow body, and a cut up 40s gangster costume to make the pinstripe suit. It was quite the arts ‘n’ crafts endeavor.
I Love arts and crafts, i recently did Disney Princess inspired decorations for my 40th birthday party... 3 years ago my mom helped me make a fairy godmother costume from scratch which i repurposed the last year into a blue Fairy costume and then i repurposed it again into a Wendy costume for this years carneval maaquerade Ball...
Once I can find a shade of blonde that looks decent on my I'm totally going as Zenon. You did a stellar job on this costume, Tiff!

You're costume is awesome! Hem tape is magic, we used it for a group costume of being the Dapper Dans to make the vests.
Zenon was the first film to have flat screen TV's and the first flat screen computers in it. Flat screen computers had not been officially created yet and were not very popular in the media. Those didn't come out until the 2000's.

My mom is a fairly good sewer and has helped me make a DAPPER Disgust costume (one of my friends was Fear) in like 2 days, but she also used hem tape to improvise! Sometimes you gotta cut corners ;) She also made my sister Belle's village costume from the 2017 movie when we went to see it at the El Capitan, literally just by cutting/recycling shirts my sister or I were going to get rid of anyway (for the little book pouch she has, we used a dish towel we had in the house that luckily had a really similar pattern!)

I work in a costume shop at my college, so I do know how to sew. However, for this Halloween I have successfully made a Stitch costume out of fleece... so not only do I have a rocking Halloween costume but I also have a new onsie 😊

My friend and I were Mickey and Minnie once and it was fab. She's pretty small so we just got her a kid's Minnie Mouse dress, and she wore black leggings and a black turtleneck, and of course basic Minnie ears. I wore black leggings and a turtleneck, Mickey ears, and my mom made poofy Mickey kinda shorts with the yellow buttons. Super cute. Finally, we happened to have been in Disney World that August and my friend and I knew we were doing this costume so I made sure to find Mickey gloves and shoes for both of us. The shoes were actually slippers so we added some waterproof fabric to the bottom of them so that we could go outside in them. They were amazing costumes
We tried making paper mâché noses, but our hot breathing started melting the glue and it was gross so they didn't last much longer than the pictures

I made Mary Poppins’ jolly Holliday dress with a dress from the vintage store, some red fabric, ribbons, a straw hat and a TON of hot glue. I used a needle and thread for some ribbon accents on the dress because I wanted to make sure I could wear the beautiful dress to something later in life. It looked so good that I got mistaken for a cast member at MNSSHP. BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.

My sister and I have made my children’s Halloween costumes up until this year Max from where the wild things are. Bam Bam and Pebbles. Bambi, the quail from Bambi and a bear because my son was supposed to be born after Halloween last year and came early.

I absolutely love how your costume turned out!!! I may have to do Zenon at some point in the future. It's one of my absolute favorite DCOMs! I've only ever made one and it was more of a disneybound. I made a Thorgirl outfit with lots of felt and glue, solid black shirt and leggings, and a blue tutu

I've been in this love/hate relationship with making costumes like every other cosplayer for 6 years now and the most fun I've had in costumes were all Disney (mostly Hannah Alexander's Snow White and Wendy Corduroy)
and I've got soooo many more plans for Disney cosplays and bounds ♥

Hot glue is my life when making costumes. I've been making mine for years and each costume has about 3 pounds of hot glue. Last year, I was one of the jungle stilt walkers from Soundsational that costume was 100% made from hand.

It looks so good! It's great seeing how innovative you were! I love to sew, I was lucky enough to have a seamstress as a mom who taught me when I was little. I like making costumes, but really enjoy making myself retro and vintage inspired clothes! You should learn to sew. It's a lot easier than it seems. Sure there's more complex techniques, but the basics anyone can learn in an hour or two. It's a skill that is worth having!
I know! I actually have a sewing machine but it had an issue where the tension in the bobbin keeps stopping and breaking thread. I just need to get it looked at and then maybe I can!

eplugs18 It's a little late to do a tip video for the party since there's only a handful of dates left, but don't miss the parade (second showing is lighter) and Treat trails are way more empty the later it gets in the night!

Hem tape......................here I am literally sowing by hand a table cloth that I cut into a apron for Alice cuz I have no sowing machine and you're like "Oh just hem tape" omg what have I been doing lol
