He is thickheaded, naive, reckless, poor, and he keeps failing throughout the whole story, keeps making mistakes. In fact, the only conventionally positive qualities I see are that he has stronger morals than most, that he's strong and knows how to fight. That's about it. He's kind of a manchild, really. Perhaps he'll evolve in the next two novellas more. I'll see after I buy the whole book, because The Hedge Knight is 5/5 for me.

If any of you, like me wonder how this man, and others like him can come up with THOUSANDS of pages of story, and multiple stories, even multiple interwoven and related stories, and then more and more stories not even as part of this world.. and are like "omg, i couldn't write ONE story... not enough for a whole book anyway, like... what do you fill the pages with? sure i could come up with a few good ideas for some good scenes, but how do you fill the other 699 pages with every day goings on and every day dealings about people having meetings and eating dinner and walking from place to place
I was like that, and i used to be hopeless at it. Buf i found a way, i found out how. it's not a natural gift, you just need to expose yourself to ways of hearing MANY MANY MANY stories from star to finish, in a fast conscise way. You need to hear more and more and more stories, tat have a beginning, middle and end, over and over and over, So you can then think back over these for ideas, so you'll always have an idea how to start a story, you'll always then know how the middle of many many different stories go, and certainly you'll have ALOT of ways of wriring the ends to stories.
Do you want to know my secret? It's just like Georges here. I started exposing myself to Comics. Yup, good old comic books. Each one of those magazines, are only maybe 20 pages long, not too much text, but they containt full stories, every time, beginning, middles and ends, every single time, sometimes multiple stories in one book. I found you don't need to even be that into the genre or type of story or character, superhreores or whatever, what i found great, was just reading hundreds of them, especially doifferent genres, non stop. So after a year or so of this, i now had thousands of small stories in my head, that i would have never been able to get there before. As each comic, is like a Tolkein novel, but a tiny version of it. Try it out, you might find alot of ideas,
For me it was amazing for opening up my understanding of content and structure for my stories.

Doesnt Mr Martin realize hes morbidly obese and up there in age so u would think he might get his stories out a little sooner. Wasn't dance of dragons published like 8 years ago. I hope most fans realize that we will never get to even hear about at least 50% of the stories in his head because he will be dead way before he gets them to paper

There truly is no filter on the internet, imagine going up to someone and saying "You realize you're morbidly obese right? And you should probably hurry along with your books before you die of obesity." Jesus christ.
