Maybe you have to make short stories of 1 or 2 pages, to make your characters debut. And then, when you are ready, you should make your real story, the one you want, with all that stuff you learned previously
Yea I know how that feels, I have so many characters ideas and stories to make a full blown series, but drawing takes like a month just to get characters and body right.
i was creating a manga back in 2016 with a group i found on twitter. we disbaned because alot of the members didnt want to participate. However I want to continue it. I created plots, characters and their profiles, character sketch, chapter 1 sketch and script. I need some people to help me get this done ;(

When I finish my exams I will start my own comics, even with all my insecurities! :D Thank you so much, you have motivated me A LOT.
I cried so hard. I always wanted to make anime one day. I even told my teachers and everyone at school while they made fun of me but i always stand by it. But never actually did anything. And one day I decided to just randomly type up how to make manga on youtube to see if anything serious would actually come up , so i clicked this video. I'm only 13 with no drawing skills, and nothing planned out and I thought it was A GREAT idea to make a manga and here I am now watching this video hoping for the best for my manga.
Not gonna lie I did the same but when I was 9 I planned to make a monster school but not in gacha. So I planned for my suture to practice in 3 years till I’m comfortable. Btw you don’t need drawing skills for it, is the plot as well.
Well we are same well...i have written a story...and my drawing skills like...don't ask...well i guess...no i will practice to be better i am 13 too but i will turn 14 after 9 days...well best of luck what can i say...
When I was a kid I always imagine my self making my own manga story, actually I made one long ago a one dozen of sketches (a kids drawing) because of some bad circumstances I didnt pursue my dream, I didnt know why this in my recommendation, it feels like I did go back *sigh*,...still, im happy coz old hobbies never goes away :)
You know what makes me depressed?? Making a manga page for 16 hours with knowing nobody will read this and i will never publish it, knowing it takes seconds to read 🥺🥺🥺☹️☹️🤯🤯 Like if I made you depressed
Don't be a wuss great things start with hope you just need to have a mindset of a winner I know it's not easy depending on the environment you live in. But no one will make you successful you need to make yourself successful just be the hardest worker even if your not talented anything is possible
I have an artist friend who isn’t creative. I can’t draw for my life but I’ve made so many stories in my head. We essentially have a codependent system here.
Those "scrolling, weird, vertical ones," such as ReLife or the many titles on Line Webtoons are *made to be read full-screen on your phone.* Since I discovered them, I've found so many niches of time where I have a few spare minutes, but the only tool in my hands is my phone, and I don't feel like reading the news or Twitter or such (or I'm offline.) In those cases, manga is an alternative to traditional ebooks. But while ebooks can be quickly re-formatted for the phone screen, manga need to be especially designed for that form factor. Hence "webtoons," or vertically scrolling manga with a narrow width. There's a huge market for them on the Line Webtoon app (and website) and many new artists are currently making a living and making a name for themselves there. In fact, it's a great way for new artists to get started and get immediate feedback from an audience!
Thanks a lot for this! It makes me feel inspired again to start working on that comic I've always wanted to draw but dropped after I felt that drawing frames and stuff will be too hard. To keep myself interested, I'll graph it out here: 5 half-animal characters who all are missing one of the 5 senses each, and also resemble certain fictional/ fantasy characters like: The Cheshire Cat, Anubis. I've already drawn out (most) of the characters, but I'm still stuck on the plot, hopefully throughout this year I'll be working on it properly.
The characters also come from different backgrounds, one even coming from the Spanish mafia and another who's a thief. There's still no set villain yet, though for a last resort, I'll make humankind their enemy.
Panda Monster honestly that sounds really interesting to me too, well you got someone waiting now, so don't give up, don't allow yourself to give up because I'm sure you'll have regrets, also I'll be really sad, so tell me when I can read it! because I don't want you to give up... tbh I know it will become popular once it gets published if you do publish it... I get a feeling about this one... a feeling to make sure you don't get discouraged, so don't give up! :D counting on you!
How do u keep the character looking the same throughout the whole entire thing?? Every time I draw mine, it looks like a different person in eaxh slide -_- I need help, ughh
Try to learn guidelines and always start at basics. You may think that your art is ok at the moment but trust me. Start right at the beginning and slowly you will begin to easily draw the same character with ease with only a few lines.
i have that problem too. im getting better thou and i actually just uploaded my original manga on my channel so you can check it out and let me know what you think about it
Honestly, i’m a fan of writing stories or manga and i have multiple interesting plots in mind to create but everytime i try to make it work, the art is stopping me. Don’t get me wrong, i’m good at drawing but i just can’t draw on a computer
well i make my own manga on my channel and what i do is to draw it on paper then scan it to my computer you can check out my manga on my channel to see what it looks like

Honestly I'm mostly scared that my art isn't good enough and that No one will read it, then a family member or friend somehow finds it. That's my worst nightmare
I can’t exactly draw manga but for some reason this video inspired me way to much IDK HOW THIS IS POSSIBLE BUT MY DRAWING SKILLS ARE LIKE this guys inspired enough time to commit project draw good
Omg dude hearing you talk about the last point makes me feel so much better, I didn't realize just how hard it was going to be to work on a manga alone and how much time it would take for each phase of the process. I felt like maybe I was just incompetent, I feel so relieved that this isn't just with me
Okay, i need to stop being lazy and finally get it together and use the huge sketch book i bought! I want to be a mangaka when I'm older so I'm gonna draw for 100 days straight and try to get better as i progress. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) I'll update you guys everyday! (Note: been drawing since i was 7, but honestly I'm still not happy with my art style and I'm still it very good at anatomy, so I'm gonna start to work my ass off!) Day 1:
You are 100% right. My story has ballooned so large because I also love to right. Then I sit back and look at all of those pages like HOW am I going to draw all of this.
I have absolutely zero artistic ability, I can barely even draw a stick figure crossing its legs. But I have an entire story written out, characters, arcs, villains etc, but the only way I feel that I could correctly express the story I’ve created is in extremely detailed and ambitious art. I don’t know what to do, I feel like I have a calling or just something in the heart to share the story in my head, it feels like it would be special and impactful, but I just can’t actually create what I want on a page. I have it all in my head, but I just can’t do it!!
Honestly it's quite easy and fast to get a hang of. If you really need help try tracing body outlines and faces. Tracing may seem like a lazy idea but it really improves your skill alot over a week or two.
listening to you talk it's like you really really get what it feels like to start out with this, and you give a lot of really valuable advice & this makes me feel encouraged about my projects - even though my art needs to improve a lot
@@sanko.a2756 i am actually not experienced but i would try a mix, i think there is no right or wrong way to do it. i would figure out your characters as soon as possible, their traits, their goals, big things that will or might happen. but then, as long as you keep several options to change the direction in the future in principle you can do it in parallel.
Guys y’all can do it, watch tutorials on how to draw bodies, hands, eyes, and more, y’all can do it stop saying you can’t, try you can do it, believe in yourselves👍🏾🌈💫
OMG THIS HELPED ALOT! I've been having troubles on deciding whether I'd write a manga or just continue my 3d anime portraits. But then, I realized, I love books, I love writing, I love anime and I love to draw.
My problem is that when I gonna draw something like a battle. Sometime the character have to get a little far away so I have to make him a little smaller and that can make me draw the head and the face a little hard
Im really getting into drawing and doing a manga. I was in class and we had to do a school project making a narrative story and i wanted it to be japanese anime based (but im kinda embarrassed to send it cuz my teacher will think im dumb but whatever) anyway, im kinda liking my story so far and i want to bring it to life but i don't have any computer to make it look even cooler. It is very frustrating to do on paper. If any of you are willing to listen and judge me on my story please comment. I can take any advice i can get. Maybe if you can make a skit of my manga idea and we can maybe make it a reality.
2:04 2:21 2:34 3:06 Time stamps for myself to use when I need to hear those words so I can get back myself when I get lost and feel pathetic over my art and myself. Those words , 3:06 hit me so hard. So hard. Thank you Yuuike, I needed to hear those words. Screw it yes, screw perfection. Screw it, I am going to just START drawing my story and throw that thought of mine where 'my art sucks and it hasn't reach my expectations yet so I shouldn't and cannot start drawing my story yet.' This ridiculous thought of mine had made me hesitate to even start a page of a comic I want to draw, hence I did not even try drawing a single page of comic yet and only been praticing drawing like character face, body, hands and anatomy etc for the whole freaking month. But I know this will get me nowhere even if I did improve, because the expectations I have for myself are high and even after meeting that expectation, another new expectation will arise and I will never ever be satisfied, hence I will NEVER get the chance to even start my FIRST PAGE of comic. Time is too precious and limited. I will start my first page on the first day of Oct. Throwing perfection away because this simply does not exist. It is a challenge for me too, to overcome perfectionism so I can become a better person and have fewer doubts and less frustration about my own works. You might even be able to improve more if you start your comic now and learn along the way instead of just practicing those things that you usually draw when practicing. I am going to try it. It won't hurt RIGHT ?! This is going to be super hard for me...but I am still going to make myself do it, overcome it. To those of you who might have similar problem as me, I wish you the best too and you can definitely do it. Throw those 'EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE PERFECT' away and just DRAW IT! Have a good day, and don't give up, you can do it. YOU CAN DO IT. YOU. CAN. Have a nice day.
Thank you, I've always wanted to make manga, but I couldn't draw, but because if you I started to make some pages and my art improved radically over time 💖
What if one has no artstyle? I still haven't develope any artstyle! what can I do to overcome this problem?? I wish for somebody to at least give me a few tips regarding this problem. I would be vwry grateful♥♥
Having an art style is like having a handwriting some people write in cursive some don't, some people. Write slanted some don't, some dot their i s and some don't, do you have a certain way you draw eyes or noses? Do you have a certain way you ink or draw muscles? Focus on developing those certain ways you do things.
You probably have a style but don’t realize it the more you do the more it develops and changes, literally my art today compared to only 1 year ago is just different and I’ve developed an art style
I am actually trying to make a fan manga of my favorite character in my hero academia, Sero. I was planning for it to be a backstory before he attended ua high school. Like what his childhood was like, what inspired him to become a hero, and how he got his quirk. I hope it turns out well.

Maybe you have to make short stories of 1 or 2 pages, to make your characters debut. And then, when you are ready, you should make your real story, the one you want, with all that stuff you learned previously
Yea I know how that feels, I have so many characters ideas and stories to make a full blown series, but drawing takes like a month just to get characters and body right.
starting from today i will try my hardest to become a mangaka.

When I finish my exams I will start my own comics, even with all my insecurities! :D

Those "scrolling, weird, vertical ones," such as ReLife or the many titles on Line Webtoons are *made to be read full-screen on your phone.*
Since I discovered them, I've found so many niches of time where I have a few spare minutes, but the only tool in my hands is my phone, and I don't feel like reading the news or Twitter or such (or I'm offline.)
In those cases, manga is an alternative to traditional ebooks.
Finally finished writing and getting better at art. Im now ready to start drawing
even though I'm not making a Manga but a Webcomic this definitely builds on the classes I have already took for comics
thank you!
Thanks a lot for this! It makes me feel inspired again to start working on that comic I've always wanted to draw but dropped after I felt that drawing frames and stuff will be too hard.
To keep myself interested, I'll graph it out here:
5 half-animal characters who all are missing one of the 5 senses each, and also resemble certain fictional/ fantasy characters like: The Cheshire Cat, Anubis.
Panda Monster This sounds so interesting!! I'd really love to read it!
+ninjakitten12 001 aww, thank you so much! I'll use that as motivation to keep myself going! 0 u 0

1. You don't need perfect art to make a good story
How do u keep the character looking the same throughout the whole entire thing??
Every time I draw mine, it looks like a different person in eaxh slide -_-
I need help, ughh
Try to learn guidelines and always start at basics. You may think that your art is ok at the moment but trust me. Start right at the beginning and slowly you will begin to easily draw the same character with ease with only a few lines.
i have that problem too. im getting better thou and i actually just uploaded my original manga on my channel so you can check it out and let me know what you think about it

well i make my own manga on my channel and what i do is to draw it on paper then scan it to my computer
you can check out my manga on my channel to see what it looks like
Gemini Flame King thank you for the advice. I will look at your channel on my free time and start to follow your steps to see if it will work

Don't worry! You start making a manga and everytime you make a page, you'll get better! Don't be discouraged as what Yuuike said
Just learn how to write.
It takes years of practice and dedication.

Time stamps for myself to use when I need to hear those words so I can get back myself when I get lost and feel pathetic over my art and myself. YOU. CAN. Have a nice day.

lavendertowne actually made a video on this, i'd recommend if you haven't watched her before
Having an art style is like having a handwriting some people write in cursive some don't, some people. Write slanted some don't, some dot their i s and some don't, do you have a certain way you draw eyes or noses? Do you have a certain way you ink or draw muscles? Focus on developing those certain ways you do things.
PookieGermis0622
You probably have a style but don’t realize it the more you do the more it develops and changes, literally my art today compared to only 1 year ago is just different and I’ve developed an art style
I’m only 13 but I already made my own manga about 12 books already but I don’t know how to put it all together in like a book...

If you aren’t good at art, then create the dialogue or write a plot. I think that is just as satisfying as the end product
