Hi Lofty Great review. I bought a 2019 K1600 B a month ago. Absolutely loving it. I'm only 5ft 7" but no problem with the height of the bike. Its a bit unwieldy at waddling speed but once its moving you forget about the weight. Just up the road from you in Somerset, good to see some local reviews of our glorious countryside.
Both very good but It would simply come down to cost......The K 1600 is amazing but very expensive and costly to service. Much more than the RT! With the R1300 engine iminant you might get a deal on an RT too. Enjoy the test ride...the RT is a far better bike than it looks....Dont forget the RS! it's far sportier and will tour just as well
So much torque, my 2014 k1600gt 3 days ago on damp stelvio pass in Italy banked hairpin turns, 2nd gear and 9mph at 800rpm pulls away no chugging, can't do that with a boxer, under 2k rpm there not happy, pre 2022 k1600 made 70% of there torque at 1700rpm, 2022 are improved again. 60 mpg at 60mph, 36mpg at 110mph.
Is it worth it? Brand new with warranty, or second hand from bmw with 2 years warranty, yes!! Is it worth it with no warranty? Alot of expensive stuff to go wrong!!
That would all depend on the depth of your pockets....generally bikers looking at K1600gt's have fairly deeper one than most.....you pays your money and takes your chance.....thanks for watching
@theloftybiker3090 great vid! Very informative! Well, I'm not rich! But I am very irresponsible!!!!! I gave up smoking nearly 2 years ago now! I've been spending the £££ getting stuff for my 2021 crf1100L! I used to spend £650 a mth on rolling baccy and weed! So very happy I've got a fantastic bike to show for it! I know they heavy, expensive to maintain, yet the k1600 does interest me! I have a bmw approved mechanic 100 yards from me, so half the cost, twice the care!! He works on my africa twin, and he does an amazing job!
It won't sit at 150mph as its top speed is around 141...lol Great bike though, and one I am seriously tempted to buy as I am hoping to go to Spain (Catalonia & the Pyrenees) next year....
Thanks for the ride Lofty, good video. Looking to get mine next June, I have had a test ride and loved it to bits. I cant wait to get mine.

Thank you Peter....It's a wonderful bike
Loved my K1300 Lofty wish I’d never have sold it
Ace bike the K13, but a little small for my legs
Buy another one...
Wish I had the spare cash lol. Was certainly a collectors item
A very impressive machine.
It's better than that lol
Nice review. Thank you.
thanks for watching
Just watched the video. I was wondering how tall are you and if you fell comfortable with the lack of leg room?
I'm 6'5" tall......I love the k.....I rode it back to back with the RT....put a gun to my head I'd take the RT....thanks for watching
I'm test riding one of these and the 1250RT tomorrow. If you had to choose between the K16 and the RT... which and why?

Its well fast....LOL. Great bike, fabulous tourer, heavy and very expensive to service....test the RT first, much lighter and nearly as quick
Too much for the road totally excessive but gorgeous all the same
Noooo the H2 is too much the K16 to true decadence
