Yep! I owned a BMW and loved it. But now I'm in a brand new Lexus ES300h and friggin love it, and the super reliability. I used to scoff at Lexus, too. I was going to buy a Prius, so I went and checked out a Lexus CT200h. The salesman got us to try the ES300h which gets basically the same 40mpg as the CT and it was SO luxurious, we went for the ES. 40 mpg in a really nice size sedan that's honestly fun to drive and rides like a dream. Now I think I want an NX hybrid for a second car, since I can't afford an LC 500h HAHA.
godfatherNYC my dad owned the CT200H and the ES300H. He loved both, but traded from the bigger to the smaller one because it was just too big for him. He liked the smaller confines of the CT200H. He also got better gas mileage here in Brooklyn with the smaller one. Brooklyn is a whole other ball game when it comes to gas mileage, more so then most other cities. In the ES he was getting 21 I believe and in the CT he was getting 35 lol. Big difference
Mike, the CT would be perfect for Brooklyn! Good points. (I lived in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn for a little while. Most of my time in NYC I lived in the LES, though. And I never owned a car while living in NYC.) Now I live in a very sparsely populated wide open suburban area outside of Memphis, TN with almost zero traffic, so the ES is just perfect here.
2020 tip, remove the little compact mirror and add a hand sanitizer bottle with a pump. It’s perfect for when you get in your car after running an errand.
Purchased a 2017 NX 200t over the Summer. I'm 6'4, 300lbs. I fit in this vehicle with no problem. I love EVERYTHING about it. Everything!! Mine has Navigation and a mouse pad controller, which is just ok.
Great review! Just bought Nx 200t all wheel drive with premium package. Great little suv perfect size and power with good luxury feel on interior, love the look!
Got this model as a loaner car while they fixed my sc430 and I love it. I would not compare this to a toyota at all. Its definitely a Lexus and it drives like one. Good review and yeah the littlr mirror was funny to me.
I'm working on picking up one of these for my mom. Currently she has an 11 IS250 which is cramped and an abysmally weak v6. This sounds like a winner. I was considering an RDX but for a premium line that doesn't even give loaners like Lexus or the German dealers do is just non-competitive. People may say you pay it somewhere else but it's still supposed to be a premium. Lease deals on an RDX are really good. Last year I got a MDX leased for an awesome price and I could do much better on an RDX since cap cost is lower but there's a new redesign coming in 2017 with a 4 cyl turbo so we would be stuck with an old style. Thanks @redlinereviews for having detailed videos.
The reason why NX has a 6 speed automatic is not because of the cost saving issue. First, it is true that GS and IS both have a 8-speed transmission, however, those are transmission for RWD drive car. However, the Aisin's AWF8F35 8-speed transmission (the front-wheel drive transmission) was relatively new when Lexus NX launched, and only Lexus RX F-sport had it. It is rare to see makers using both new transmission and new engine at the same time as the power-train can be unstable. Now seeing that Aisin's new 8-speed FWD is sold to GM and BMW (on Malibu and X1) I think Lexus will put the new transmission into NX really soon. By the way, I love all of your reviews! Thank you so much for doing them!
2016 f sport had it for 4 years now. Point number one the CD player is a fantastic feature because some places have bad reception. Number two don't waste your money on the nav package it's incredibly frustrating to use. Better off using Google maps on your phone.
With the prevalence of small 4 cylinder engines in SUVs, it would be really great if reviewers take these cars up inclines instead of straight roads and comment on how the engine feels. One of my biggest complaints with 4s on a large, heavy cars is if you're going up mountain ranges, the engines whine like banshees and just can't get up to speed like V6s can. Very important for vehicles designed to go to remote areas.
The new RX's steering is extremely numb in case you were wondering. The looks/interior are great imo though. If you can get your hands on it, I would love to see a review
Thank you for the review. You do such a great job covering everything in your videos! Would you happen to know which gray color is displaced in the video? (there are a couple clips of it) Thanks again!!

I'm disappointed that you can't get the Mark Levinson sound system in the US version of the NX. I really don't understand why Lexus removed it from the US version of the NX.
Carboy 13 And a Lexus isn't reliable? Reliability between Acura and Lexus shouldn't even be mentioned. The Lexus is #1 in reliability. Acura is good too just not as.
I love this thing. In Fsport it's the best looking in its class. Tinted with a nice set of wheels the NX looks bad ass. The LED headlights look really cool at night. Good Job Sofyan!! I like this vehicle but the cargo area is puny compared to may other entries. I have question. What are your thoughts on the ride? I have heard it rides hard.
+carguy812 Thank you! I actually talk about the ride during the test drive ;). But to answer your question here, I found the ride to be on the firmer side, which I don't mind but those buyers used to the softness of the RX might take issue with the NX's ride quality.
Why did they put such a large rotary knob for drive mode select? What a waste of space. Maybe they should have put the engine start button down there instead.
So SF, I was interested in the 2018/2019mazda cx5 but it was sluggish and the turbo, albeit awesome, is new and put the car just too far out of my budget soooooooo, I was considering getting a 2015/16 nxt that has similar power as the turbo, especially the SPORT. In 2019, do you think this car is still a super value if purchased with less tha 50k miles for anywhere between 24 and 27k$? Thanks...I need help

Thanks for the details I'll stick to the rav4 awd for better mpg (real world reviews have shown the awd version consistently getting 23.5 city and 28hwy) much higher clearance and I like the stereo placement better fit aftermarket upgrades. I do like the look of lexus and the interior upscale but not the turbo engine and less cargo space with much more added weight. If only they offered a rugged version that fixed this issues that someone like myself have with it. I want to have a great eco car non hybrid for my food delivery job, with more luxury, yet still be versatile off road or in inclement weather. I prefer the 2.5 n/a for a more consistent mpg.
Nice review. Have you driven/reviewed the new 2017 Lincoln MKC? If not you should review it with 2.0 and 2.3L engines. I was surprised how well the lincoln rides. I am actually looking to lease a compact SUV and i am stuck between the MKC 2.3L and NX200t F-Sport. Lincoln is very sporty, drives and feels solid, so does the lexus. I am currently split 51% for Lexus and 49% fir Lincoln. And the reason is the backseat space in the Lincoln is VERY tight! Otherwise i feel like MKC is a better car with better driving tech such intelligent AWD and Adaptive damping suspension. Please review the 2017 2.3 MKC. Thanks!
I would have loved to hear the car without any of the artificial noise from the speakers.. this would be the first thing I‘d turn off in this nice little car.

Why would you not consider Lexus, Acura and Infiniti a tier one luxury brand .... they differentiate themselves from their consumer brands unlike German brands (with the exception of Audi/Volkswagen) BMW and Mercedes Benz are not considered luxury brands in Europe and yet they make you pay a hefty premium by only offering only the top trims in North America
