I bought this SEAT Ibiza at an auction without intending too and its disgusting, there's a reason no one else bid on it. Is this one even worth saving?
Instagram: Saving_salvage
I just can't even conceive of how anyone can treat/use a car like that. Mind blowing.
Absolutely disgusting. Was it used as a car or as a toilet? Who knows.
@@Mbmism To be fair the rats were probably the ones using it as a toilet.
Drugs.
@uyyz my thought exactly
My car looks like this after every weekend
Takes 1-2 hours to clean
(Except the fungus and shit though)
Fair play to the valeter, great job 🤢👏
I've seen much worse a Golf R which had been part of a repo. It was a 4 month old car the interior was an absolute mess stains everywhere but as a parting gift the guy took a shit in the boot ans smeared it everywhere and pissed on the drivers seat. I literally threw up at the sight and smell of it. I feel sorry for whoever actually owns that car now
@@interceptor-ss8kb not the golf r NOOooo
Whatever they charged, it was a bargain price. :-)
The valeter was an absolute hero cleaning this coz of the contamination and the used needles in it. He deserves a medal
Keep on with the SEAT, it will make good content at the budget end of the scale.👍
Hold the old key onto the immobiliser ring and turn it over again. If that works and it stays running, all you need to do is swap the chips over. The old key can be split in two with a razor blade and the flip key comes apart but you need to remove the SEAT logo to get to the screw. The chips are glued in but careful scraping with a Stanley blade will get them loose. Practice on the flip key first!!! If you can't be bothered to proceed after that, you should get your money back by sticking it back in at Copart as a Run & Drive without the contamination warning. You could probably get £1200 on Facebook as it is! Personally, I'd stick with it. The wheels look standard to me, some of the Ecomotives had skinny wheels & trims.
I like that idea, worth a try anyway.
I’ve done this on my golf haha
Someone I know superglue the old key to the under dash
Did the same thing on a Volvo, worked a treat
Was going to suggest the same thing. Those chips are very brittle, take car getting it out.
Went to steal it, sat in it and thought "nah fuck that" 😂
I especially love how the owner rather than take the rubbish out just put the mats over the top of it 🤦♂️
The literal definition of sweeping things under the carpet 😂😂
@@CovKid2K10 😂
Damn that owner
Strangely, i felt sorry for the car to be honest as it was clearly just badly abused and so i think it would be interesting to see if you can at least get it up and running and driving/passing MOT. It's not gonna make you any money of course, but maybe you can raffle it off or something?
Note for the future - don't buy blind on an auction Dean! LOL - Keep up the vids mate, they're awesome!
This is another great salvage project …
It’s got a “ From rags to riches “ kinda feel to it.
Give the car another well deserving life.👍🏻
Such an awesome channel.
More like "Riches to rags" :+)
I bet that valet wasn't cheap but the poor guy earned every penny! 😂
Like you said your Chanel is called saving salvage. Keep on with it man! Even if you only make a couple of drinks on it you should do alright with the videos😂
You can use the old key near the barrel to stop the immuniser issue. If you can get the little glass chip out of the old key just put that into the new key and you’ll be golden 👍🏼
swap the transponder fromthe original key. get a decent chinese scanner that can program security and keys. maybe 500 quid which you should have for your channel anyway and give it a whirl
New key, code it, get it running, get a set of used seat alloys with ok tyres on them, fix the nasty burn in the drivers seat, nice clean and sell it on for 2500. Demand and prices for VAG hatchbacks are quite ridiculously high so I bet this one will be just fine.
Vagina hatchback?
You owe it to the valeter to rescue it now after his death-defying feat. He deserves the King's Award for Industry for rendering that bio-hazard inhabitable once again. The scrappers are the most fun!
Nice one and I don’t blame you. As a newly qualified main dealer tech. I think I would have been refusing to work on that. Don’t know what’s wrong with some people. Imagine what there house is like 🤢
That interior came up really well, I thought it would run. This will make an interesting series fixing it up
Keep going with this one. It’ll be worth it bud. Maybe even £2k - £2.5k
Sounds about right. There’s a bit of profit to be had in that.
Looks like it was used as dustbin rather than a car 😄 As you are "Saving Salvage" and have 'saved' quite a few cars in your time then this is another one that deserves your care an attention! I like seing these transformation type videos and this Seat certainly needs it! May not be too much profit in it but makes for great content!
Definitely been abused, lowered and the previous owner pinched the alloys back and bodged anything to fit. Auction fees are a killer. Should be money in it though if you can get it running 👍
Sell it to Chops Garage. He loves a challenge😂
The car will make a good little runabout, now that the valeter earned a big tip! It's nice to see the variety of cars on the channel. It's boring when some other channels get stuck in an endless loop of exotic cars chosen because they're clickbait instead of good content. Keep posting little projects like this please!
Definately keep on with it, its decent looking and needs saved, be a shame to see it scrapped. I love content like this Dean.
Going by the tinted lights and it being lowered, I’m guessing some boy racers had it prior…probably had Halfords wheels on it too which they’ve kept.
Is it on aftermarket suspension?
Greta introduction video, looking forward to seeing how this progresses…
Mate, you've got a key, pop it open, see if there is a rice grain immobilizer chip in it and swap it over. Fixed. You can also try just holding the body of the old key against the ignition barrel to begin with too!
The risk is that key that came with it is nothing to do with the car and won't work but nothing ventured nothing gained.
I like the project. I'm a believer in cleaning value into a car, done it a few times. If you're willing to put the elbow grease in there are rewards to be had. Good luck.
This is the most relatable type of car to restore. Personally I’m really interested to watch you fix this one. Hope you tipped that valet!!!
Tom Ball got to the key trick before me but I can confirm it works. The wheels look original and just lack the trims. So I say stick with it as it will make good low value flip content and you could even make a few bob if it runs properly.
I’m assuming your farm is called 100 Acre Wood and your besties are Winnie and Piglet lol. You complete eeyore. Great content , make it live again!!
To be honest mate, we've all had buyer's remorse at some time - whether it be looking at a car through rose-tinted glasses, impulse buying or whatever. Ya win some, ya lose some. However, the bodywork on that wee thing looks terrific and the interior has come up way better than I ever thought it would (and I reckon your Valet has a bloody strong stomach and is perfectly validated in his gesture - although I assume it's a friendly one and he's not telling you where to stick any future cars!), so that's two thirds the problem fixed.....and if the driveline is good, then I reckon you're quids in and could come out of this either breaking even or smelling like roses with a few in your back pocket.
Definitely try what a few people have suggested and use the old button fob with the new key and see if that disables the immobiliser and lets it run. If so, you've just saved yourself 170 quid. The old Diseasel didn't sound terrible when she fired the second time, so hopefully it'd will come to life and do diseasel things when it's allowed to by the security system.
Again, as someone else said, get those old rims off (yes, they are the standard rims minus hubcaps) and stick a set of 2nd hand SEAT alloys on (or something aftermarket 2nd hand that suits it) and she'll look the cat's whiskers. If she goes like the 1.4 litre turbo diesel in the VW Polo of 2006-8 vintage, it will be a fun little thing to drive and go like the clappers. Good luck and all the best!
Judging by the used syringes in the car it looks like some addict basically lived in it. Glad you could save it!
No disrespect to you but it's nice to see a bottom end vehicle on your channel. A man of your ability will have it sorted out no probs. 👍👍👍
Looks like my car after a trip out with the kids for half hour, minus the piss smell! Keep on it, could turn out to be a proper little bargain
Yeah you've nailed it. My car is clean in the front, but where my 7 year old sits in the back it's pretty much this 🤣
Quite an old car judging by the inside and how grim it is... £250 seems rather steep, This thing would be sub £100 years ago.
That valeter should be knighted!
Cracking content as always, Dean!
You’ve bought a car stolen by some junkies 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮😂😂😂
@0:17 That is great, but it is a gamble noneseless. Experience and instinct can trump extensive research. Let alone that cars have part value that is often higher than the purchase price. E. g. if you buy a Bentley, you know it is a high roller game and even insignificant damage can ruin your day.
More interesting than watching a sterile BMW thingy being rebuilt, more TVR would be cool?
I’ve seen this before, some druggy
Homeless person finds an abandoned open/ stolen car and they live in it for a while before it gets taken away
Going to hazard a guess that your not on the Valeter's Christmas Card list anymore......
Looks like they are worth some money so you might have got a good bargain there if it runs
Looks like some boy racer had it and trashed it. That’s from seeing the tinted rear lights
this was defintaly a stolen vehicle maybe came from a chop shop
You've got the origional immoboliser chip and transponder that's linked to the ecu, just swap them over to the new key and barrel
Pull the old fob apart. Inside the bladed part you'll see the transponder chip. Carefully remove it. Then pull the new key fob apart and remove the badge off the bladed part, under there is a small srew. Remove the screw and take it apart and remove the transponder chip and replace it with the one from the other fob and reassemble. Job done no need to spend money on a new key. Theres videos on you tube telling you how to reprogram the remote fob to unlock/ lock the car without any software and even with only one key.
Not forgetting the cost of wheels, tires and wheel bolts. Interested to see what you do with this one.
Yep, I reckon this one will scrub up okay… As you said, the channel is about ‘saving salvage’. You’ll lose a few quid when you sell it, but I think bringing bread and butter cars back from the dead provides content for the best videos.
Hi Dean. If you bought that when "sober". Don't ever buy when you have had a drink. 😉. See you in the next one. 👍👍
Wagggoooonnn! Your valeter needs a medal! Good content and you are right, you are saving salvage - needs some wheels, good first car for someone
A satisfying clean up and a will it start video all in one. Nice one Dean. Body and interior wise, if you can see past the crud it's a nice looking car and will do someone a good turn if you can get it running and driving properly. Stick with it, it's great content and this one will live to fight another day.
Really enjoyed this video, kudos to the detailed - great job! I look forward to you transforming it with a exterior valet and a running engine.
so you basically bought any car owned by 20yo girl
HOW DID URINE COME INTO THE SEATS DUDE SOME ONE LOOKS LIKE HAD A LIL FUN IN THE CAR
Probably just about worth doing as long as it runs ok. Reckon you should be able to get your money back at least… maybe even a small profit in there for you. I know it’s a bit of a gamble but it’s the sort of content I like, want to do something similar myself actually so if you can pull this off I might have a go at something myself 👍
4:52 atleast you got thirteen pence back!
I recognise that guy, wasn’t he on tipping point?
Yeah, won fuck all bless him
@@SavingSalvage won a few fans on Twitter I heard.
I saw that episode too… good looking bloke, heard he ‘had a great day’ as well
@@dt21dt thanks for valeting the car True detail aka Dave from tipping point.
Looks like someone was living in this poor Seat!
Looks like the suspension has been lowered??
Wtf is wrong with these people.... no self respect..... unbelievable state.... I'm getting worried for you dean...
Hahaha are you okay?
Getting running as cheap as possible and send it through the auction... film it!!!
Full engine service. Get the steering wheel re-covered or get a replacement (as it was naaaaasty). And a full set of wheel bolts and some plastic trims. MOT and flip it quick....
A gallon of petrol and a lighter springs to mind but seriously hang in there I think its worth doing for content and a few quid's worth of profit at the end of the day
Good one. Ibiza are one of my favourite little cars. Save it. Will make a great first car for someone
That's worth sticking with, you'll get a decent profit on that. And that valeting jib has added value to it too
Keep on the great work love seeing this transformation can't wait for the next video.
an O3 generator kills mould as well, you can grab them for not much from ebay. Deodorizes car smells as well
Meh…. My wife’s car is worse.
Feel like there should be a link to the car valet, he did a brilliant job
This will make for great videos. Definitely worth saving it for the youtube audience entertainment alone. I for one will be looking forward to following the progress on this little car - it deserves to be saved.
Man i feel sorry for that valeter
There is always somebody in the market for a cheap runner to get them to work or kids to school. Love these make & Mend videos Dean. 👍
I’ve got an old Peugeot 205 & Mk3 Vauxhall Astra Saloon you can have for free if you want?
Hello mate! I have a serious problem with my car Audi a4 b7 break 2.0 TDI BPW engine. At every startup (cold or warm) my car blow white/blue smoke on the exaust pipes. No mechanic cant say exactly what it is. So far i replaced the turbo (new one from GARRET) , the head gasket with the gas purifier, and clean up the EGR/PCV valve. And that stupid smoke is still there every time i start up the engine. WHAT TO DO ....i run out of money lol.
Isn't this model just under 10 years old? How the heck can it develop mould and have rats living in it in so little time? The owner clearly doesn't deserve any vehicle.
My wife's last trolly of grub ,beer and gin from Costco cost me over £350.
My trolly v your car, I think I know what would win a survey.
However, shouldn't attempt to mock ,you probably got a lot more back via your fees from you tube.!
I bought a 2010 PT Cruiser a couple months back and it was filthy when I got it and had some lingering vacuum leaks, but damn it was positively squeaky clean compared to this dumpster of a car
Oooof. Disgusting. Looked like a junkies car. Should have just scrapped it straight away tbh
save it , fun little car
Must be something about 2010 Ibizas , as it seems to be a clone of what my daughters interior on her car was. We were going to PX it and I refused to get near it and gave the job to clean it to the local 'valeters' . Poor sods..... But her replacement Focus has also the same 'disease' with floor mats hidden below crap and probably as much virus's as that one had...............
Yip your hardy, in it now so you need to crack on! What’s its value once repaired? That’s the crucial number, as you say your channel is called saving salvage not scrapping salvage, surely this car is 10 a penny in local scrap yard so bits can be plentiful, however to top it all…… great content for vids👍👍 keep it up🚗🚗🚗
Genuinely seen much worse and recently seen a rusted 2006 golf plus 120k on clock go for £1600. Not much room left in the Ibiza but good content and lift a little.
the ECU shouldn't recognize a random key (even with a swapped ignition barrel)
How the f does anything end up that filthy? FFS. Yes, keep going with the build, love the Audis etc but as someone earning barely minimum wage, this kind of car is more relateable
This car has seen hell and is about to come out swinging. Please restore it! 🤯
(Also geez that car looks stunning on the inside now!)
I have an alfa romeo 939 spider that has a roof problem.......i know nothing about cars but i think you could fix it. Im actually crying on the inside its broke
Awesome transformation. Fingers crossed this is the ugly ducking before it turned into a beautiful swan. Be patient. Brilliant video. Keep it up.
Considering how crazy used car prices are nowadays, you'll make money on that. You are a master turd-polisher, after all - maybe you just a bit close to actual turd this time. Keep at it, Dean!
You're in two feet deep bro 😀 .you were sleepy at the auction site and touched the wrong button. You may end up 1700 all in and selling to break even. It happens but we have fun watching 👀 😄.
When I see vehicles in this state it always makes me wonder if the human being who put it in that state is really a worthy addition to the human race? Not surprised the detailer gave you the thumbs up for this one 🤣
Tell you exactly what I thought Dean I listened but couldn’t look at the screen shat myself at the thought of a rats come running out, wouldn’t have it if you offered it to me free, the thought of rats, but now it’s good content, hopefully no chewed wiring, But is there profit in it, surely you’ve only got £300 before it’s what it’s worth,
Can't you buy my 325i n52? I have a g11 7er now and it's just sat there. Be a nice acr for you to buy and turbo 😂 comes with exhaust that hasn't been fitted yet
already looking forward to the next instalment. Make it so!
Getting it running and roadworthy. Take it in a mammoth road trip. Northern Norway or North Africa. 20 countries in a week that sort of thing. Show instead of scrapping there’s still plenty of life in it.
That car would have been the absolute worst to deal with, speaking from experience
this is pretty tame compared to the stuff you see in the "just rolled in" channel. i'm pretty sure there are sentient piles of trash living among us because of some of the stuff that shows there.
Oh dear 😳🤦♂️😂😂😂😂 good luck my friend you will need it 😉
Some, lets say it nicely... "Numpty" probably tried to steal it, realised they couldnt so they stole the wheels. the wheels and nuts are whatever someone could find so it could be moved. i once as a trainee mechanic went on a call out to collect a car with stolen wheels. the car was against a wall pretty close and we barely had enough room to get in and put temp wheels on. as an added bonus they refitted the locking wheel nuts to make it more awkward for us. little did they know we carried a selection of locking wheel nut keys on our trucks and one actually fit, not perfect but was enough to get the nuts off.
i wonder if its worth swapping transponders in the key fob... yes i know key and barrel are different but if ECU recognises it, will it not start/run in that sense... im not 100% sure but since you have the fob i would try. maybe it would save you a few quid with key guy as you would then just be resetting it basically... he doesnt seem that helpful without you buy/pay more to my way of thinking but i could easily be wrong.
This was a really good video, I’m looking forward to the next one, but the car is a POS, but you know that anyway and it doesn’t matter.
My thoughts are the guys at the car auction should be wearing a mask and carrying pistols...Robbing B's
Haha 250 pounds worth of locking wheel nuts ! 😜🤣
I love your Ibiza I like the car and my step dad had one brand new in 2008 and his was a lovely car so I really like those and your one seems easy to sort out so good one that is
you obviously have never seen the austin princess or allegro!
EDIT: Ahh disgusting as in mold, rats and piss!
Yuck used needles! I’d give it all a wipe over with medical Hep B killing wipes. God knows what’s been squirted about on the inside.
