These are great rules and I 100% agree with all of this! The only thing I'd add is minimal talking during it (chat bubbles are very distracting) and don't lay down. I never know whether taking laying down as the person enjoying the music (I do play a lot of slower, nostalgic songs, that would make sense I guess) or whether they find it so boring they've fallen asleep!

I accidentally tried to get someone to light me, but because I had the volume down I didn't realise they were playing, I felt so embarrassed when I realised and ran away, sorry to whoever that was
If anyone feels a bit bummed out recalling their own pretty yucky experiences with music, one time i was at home about to go do my quests as usual, i had a duck mask and very blue cosmetics as well, when I was about to leave i hear this beautiful melody coming from afar. I honked and saw someone on the roof where you change cosmetics and such. It was someone with red accents and a bunny mask. At the time i was practicing a bunch of songs and felt so excited! I flew over and heard them play. I was so intrigued that when they were done i started playing with my piano! They loved it and soon i sat down, because now they were going to play. This continued for almost 20 minutes! I've gone to many concerts where only one plays all the time. But it was only us, a duck and a bunny playing for eachother! It was like a very cute story for my character hehe. In the end i was a bit tired, i was ready to friend them but I HAD NO CANDLES!! I panicked and feared they would disappear-- but then they friended ME.. it was a great experience. I named them Velvet but i don't think we ever did something of the sort again. Anyways, thanks of you read so far! Hope this helped if you ever feel down things don't go ur way when you're playing instruments ;_; i hope anyone reading in the distant future can enjoy a fun time!!

Now that past seasonal spirits are here for everyone, the "shh" emote is really neat way to let others know what to do if they happen to be loud near someone who is playing. I was merged into a server where someone was having a mini concert in prairie home base and they did this really nice thing where they'd use the "shh" emote before they started playing their next song! Everyone would immediately stop spamming emotes and sit down again. It was so cute 🤣
I remember one day I was playing music Then came two veterans, took their piano and started to play chaotically to not let me practice 🤦🏻♀ It could be ok if it was a moth, but veterans.. Why there are people like that😤
@@andrearomero3655 Yeah a large majority of sky kids call new players moths, however there are some sky kids who use different terms for new players. The community is overall nice and very diverse, with players coming from all over the world. Doesn’t mean that there aren’t some rude people tho, they’re hard to come by thankfully, but they still exists (like the chibi in the video). I’ve been playing sky for a long time now so I can gladly answer some questions you might have!
Omg yes they were using the point emote and come emote suddenly this whole video hits different- I know that pain 😭 these quests kinda ruin areas because you can’t hang around in them since you may be preventing someone from finding people to help- still the part where they started griefing with the harp was totally uncalled for

When I got my first instrument I kept practicing until I was finally good my friends clapped when I finished and they said my playing is beautiful that i'd now practice everytime it's peaceful
Oh gosh, I’m fairly new to sky and didn’t realize this wasn’t ok! I honk a lot when I get excited, like when someone is really cool, but I don’t think I honk when someone is playing really well... normally I’ll sit down with them and listen, and when they’re done or i gotta leave I’ll get up, bow and clap

Another rules. Don't hang out in area where mission and quest are located if you have no intention of helping. Don't light people who are trying to do quest, so that they can switched to server with people who would help
I'll hang where I want to and if I decide I'm relaxing instead of helping, people will just get over it. Cool thing is I can mute sounds and crank up the music performance :) People need to learn to stop being entitled
Life hack: put on a chibi mask and use a tiny potion and dress up as a moth. Everyone respects you that way because you’re a miniature moff. Works every time lmfao

I feel like sitting is also showing appreciation. Whenever someone stands by me as I play, I assume they'll run off. When they sit, I can tell they're enjoying it. They just sit politely and stand to clap, which shows more respect than sitting to clap. Those are my thoughts :)
i remember playing music first time, i struggled a lot i was practising🤣 then someone came, stayed in silent. After ive finished, he clapped and played the music i was practising and HES GOOD. I did what he did to me and days later ive always respected how other player play their instrument. Thanks to the nice guy, i acted properly👏👏👏👍
Ah, I had this same experience - I remember I was chilling out and playing my music (was pretty proud too cause I had most of the sheets memorized and could play it without any difficulty). Two players came up to me (don't know if they were moths or not) and the both of them, at the same time, repeatedly honked in the middle of me playing. They kept honking to get me to light up their candle, I was happy with it, I eventually stopped playing and they stopped honking. Lit their candles and went to go back to playing my piano, until they brought out their instruments and started to play, so I respected them. Went quiet, put away my piano and listened. Once they were done, I clapped and threw confetti. Wish they would've been less rude when I began playing again, smh. People never learn and I never met them again, fortunately.

I scream alot as a chibi but quiet down VERY quickly when someone starts playing music. It's like charming a snake, but it's a chibi. After the person is done, I honk a little and clap

Only later did I realise that’s not how it works, and I felt slightly embarrassed. I was literally running around trying to light everyone around me 🤣
ion know but I can never be annoyed by chibis 🥺 they just look too tiny to be mad at from my height Besides this looks like a moth chibi, they have a harp, they don’t have ten stars, they only have the ongoing seasonal cosmetics.. and mostly upgraded emojis from isle. So.. I wouldn’t blame them for calling out for attention. Moths are very hyper and curious in general.

I remember something similar to this happened to me once. I was at the lobby of the golden wasteland because I was bored and that’s where I would find interesting people from, in my experience. We were playing music, having fun, being idiots and taking turns I think. I decided to play my horn, mostly out of boredom again. During this, someone interrupted me by playing the piano. After that act, everyone went chaotic. Some people were honking at said person while they were still playing and the other few were comforting me. Two people went to the chat table that was available and wanted me to follow them. I ended up befriending them both.
whenever I see someone play instruments and I recognize the song, I clap, but when it's one of my fav songs, I just honk so hard and be like "Oh my god add me right now add me right now"
This never really happened to me before but I can tell the rage the anger the agony the musician is feeling, like I know they need help but cmon don't interrupt others and take no for an answer already their busy having their peace but you are ruining their day now that's gonna anoyy them for the rest of the day moral of the story is: taking no for an answer is good
If someone starts playing an instrument I usually just stay quiet and listen. The season of aurora ball waving emote is perfect to show you're listening and it doesn't make much noise in the first 2 levels. I also usually have a quiter honk like the fish or cosmic manta which doesn't sound too loud if i accidentally honk. I'm a singer but I'm terrible at learning irl instruments so I just watch people playing in awe
All I do when I go chibi, when a sky kid plays music I just sit beside them and listen, after they finish I clap and then I bow for the beautiful piece they played.
As a chibi, we don't claim the rude chibi's! >:c I feel bad for the people here that had their experiences ruined by others (chibi or not). I have only been playing for a bit, but even I know not to interrupt.
i think you’re totally misunderstood her, she just needs help for the quest that’s why she keeps honking. well yes that’s not good to interrupt someone playing music but you kinda make her look like a horrible person.
Firstly , I hadn't taken the quest from the treehouse so I had no idea what to HELP with.. I was there just enjoying music.. is it too hard for the chibi or enjoy the music for 2 mins or take no for an aswer??.. we are not obligated to help. Within the first 10-15 seconds chibi realised we want to play music and chill, she could have let us be and move on find someone else. 😖😖

Bird voice is just as annoying in my opinion lol. People with crab voice are veteran so they are not annoying (because the crab voice ts came like 1 year ago). When crab voice lady comes back, moths and chibis have mercy xD

When I have time and have finished my candle runs, I like to be a chibi and follow random people around for as long as possible There was this one time I followed someone through the entirety of wasteland and then eden but they left at the end of eden and I never got to friend them lol It was really cute cus after a while of following them in wasteland they started waiting for me
I just turned online and started to play the new sheet of the event and got 2 listeners, it was so cute to see bc I just learned the new sheet and loved the slow piece as well after the 2th play I started to talk with one of them ^^ sweet time
oh God… I was absolutely destroying this one piece that I taught myself (Gurenge) and I was SUPER proud of it. People were listening too! Until a friggin chibi came in and started playing too, and it just turned into nothing but noise. I kept going hoping they would get a clue, but nope! I got so mad because I was doing so well, I just stopped. I honked at them a few times and they looked like they got confused as to why- like bish you know good and well why
I swear the amount of times i've tried practicing piano alone there's always that _one_ sky kid who tries to mess up my performance 😐. Now i can't even play my piano without someone trying to disturb me, it's annoying honestly.
In real life, if someone interrupts you when you talk you should just continue talking, because they’re gonna feel awkward/guilty and just go away. Same goes for sky music. Your best bet is to just keep playing
For deaf people who might not know: honking makes noise. Some honks are more noticeable than others tho, such as crab honk; it's not exactly louder, but the difference between the default and crab honk is similar to the one between a plain colour and one with patterns of higher or lower values. Also, deep honks make noise longer, which means they're less practical around musicians. In any case, the noise can make it difficult for the musician to focus, or listeners to enjoy the music; music being a controlled use of pleasant sounds, other sounds can be unpredictable and randomly break the flow, or be too loud to hear the music. This is why honks can be annoying. They're louder the closer you are tho, so you should be okay if the distance between you and them is the one needed to teleport to friends. They're also far from loud enough to really be unpleasant, it's the frustration of being distracted that is. Bruh, reminds me of this one veteran that kept interrupting me. I was about to practice piano at home. This veteran want to lit me, sure. I sit down and practise. The veteran talked to a friend then came to me and took out their piano and interupped me and played the exact same song. I'm like ಠ_ಠ but I wanna be respectful so I stopped and let her play. After she's done, I took out my piano but NOPE she's not done yet. After a few minutes, I went behind valley's gate for some quiet. She came to me and interrupt me again. She finished, I clap and bow then went to the previous spot. She put down table and sat down and I did too. "Do you want to learn piano?" Not her exact question but similar. I was like "umm sure" and was pretty confused lol. She befriended me cause she said she has to go and she'll come back. I nickname her 'annoy piano'. I told my friends about her and this one time, we were chilling at home. She tele or online idk, she came to me and started playing. I was like "omg guys it's annoy piano" My friends started to interrupt her playing lol. After she's done, I dragged my friends to CR lol. Moral of the story, pls never interuppt other players playing even if you somehow think you can do better. Show them support when they finish. Be respectful ain't hard yall 😌✨
As a crazy music skykid, I **HATE WHEN SOMEONE INTERRUPTS ME** Like, okay if you wanna stand in front of me with a candle, fine, fine. I'll take it. The instant you start honking I think you'll go crazy honking if I don't honk back so I pause my entire fudging performance to honk back. and since most of these performances rely on muscle memory, I then have to either restart the phrase, verse or peice, and it ticks me off so much >:')
This made me remember that one time in office where I was just sitting on the ground and out of nowhere a bunch of people joined and one started playing an instrument and we were all just chilling together. It was very nice.

Technically you can play any notes to be in a jam session because your instrument is still in key in the same realm in sky. Different realms have different keys.
And different AREAS of different realms have different keys... There’s one key that is only played for a tiny bit of time in the After Forest area (after seeing forest mom and her anvil) I’ve had multiple incidents yesterday about keys changing in the middle of me playing a song (it’s short and a little repetitive but the wrong note still gets my attention)

Chibis are odd. I met two once who made me report and block them for harassing me and calling me rude stuff when I sat down at the table- Yet, that doesn't anger me as much as people who spam honk, interrupt playing, and try to light you while playing music.
I’ve been playing for around two months so I could be fairly new, I like to practice the piano in the start of wasteland since there is no background music, rarely someone disturbs thankfully, or some come by to listen. Srsly ppl like that are appreciated.

i love playing music/practising the harp in sky since everyone that hears me (since i play/practise in random places in the open) would mostly be kind veterans and i just sit there trying to decipher what happened to me isndsjdj also, you deserve a sub since you’re mostly on my recommended page by now
I really enjoy practicing music in this game a lot (tho I'm not really good at it irl). Kinda awkward when I'm trying to get some privacy then some strangers starts sitting near me just to listen, got myself flustered so easily I could barely finish playing one music but glad they seem to enjoy by clapping back.
If I see someone playing, I usually give a small bow then go on my way because for me someone else's presence is enough to distract me (as an amateur, I usually get nervous. Bowing is my way of saying "what you're playing is really pretty, I do not wish to disturb you"). Sometimes, though, I may take out my own instrument to see the notes they play, but I NEVER interrupt them.

I feel like sitting is also showing appreciation. Whenever someone stands by me as I play, I assume they'll run off. When they sit, I can tell they're enjoying it. They just sit politely and stand to clap, which shows more respect than sitting to clap. Those are my thoughts :)

Ah, I had this same experience - I remember I was chilling out and playing my music (was pretty proud too cause I had most of the sheets memorized and could play it without any difficulty). Two players came up to me (don't know if they were moths or not) and the both of them, at the same time, repeatedly honked in the middle of me playing. They kept honking to get me to light up their candle, I was happy with it, I eventually stopped playing and they stopped honking. Lit their candles and went to go back to playing my piano, until they brought out their instruments and started to play, so I respected them. Went quiet, put away my piano and listened. Once they were done, I clapped and threw confetti. Wish they would've been less rude when I began playing again, smh. People never learn and I never met them again, fortunately.

Only later did I realise that’s not how it works, and I felt slightly embarrassed. I was literally running around trying to light everyone around me 🤣

I remember something similar to this happened to me once.
I was at the lobby of the golden wasteland because I was bored and that’s where I would find interesting people from, in my experience.
We were playing music, having fun, being idiots and taking turns I think.
I decided to play my horn, mostly out of boredom again.
During this, someone interrupted me by playing the piano.
After that act, everyone went chaotic. Some people were honking at said person while they were still playing and the other few were comforting me.
Two people went to the chat table that was available and wanted me to follow them.
I ended up befriending them both.
whenever I see someone play instruments and I recognize the song, I clap, but when it's one of my fav songs, I just honk so hard and be like "Oh my god add me right now add me right now"

If someone starts playing an instrument I usually just stay quiet and listen. The season of aurora ball waving emote is perfect to show you're listening and it doesn't make much noise in the first 2 levels. I also usually have a quiter honk like the fish or cosmic manta which doesn't sound too loud if i accidentally honk. I'm a singer but I'm terrible at learning irl instruments so I just watch people playing in awe
All I do when I go chibi, when a sky kid plays music I just sit beside them and listen, after they finish I clap and then I bow for the beautiful piece they played.

Firstly , I hadn't taken the quest from the treehouse so I had no idea what to HELP with.. I was there just enjoying music.. is it too hard for the chibi or enjoy the music for 2 mins or take no for an aswer??.. we are not obligated to help. Within the first 10-15 seconds chibi realised we want to play music and chill, she could have let us be and move on find someone else. 😖😖

oh God… I was absolutely destroying this one piece that I taught myself (Gurenge) and I was SUPER proud of it. People were listening too! Until a friggin chibi came in and started playing too, and it just turned into nothing but noise. I kept going hoping they would get a clue, but nope! I got so mad because I was doing so well, I just stopped. I honked at them a few times and they looked like they got confused as to why- like bish you know good and well why

I swear the amount of times i've tried practicing piano alone there's always that _one_ sky kid who tries to mess up my performance 😐. Now i can't even play my piano without someone trying to disturb me, it's annoying honestly.
In real life, if someone interrupts you when you talk you should just continue talking, because they’re gonna feel awkward/guilty and just go away. Same goes for sky music. Your best bet is to just keep playing
i always practice at valley, fly behind the spawn and land on one of those rocks. rarely anyone interrupts me there when i'm practicing
For deaf people who might not know: honking makes noise. Some honks are more noticeable than others tho, such as crab honk; it's not exactly louder, but the difference between the default and crab honk is similar to the one between a plain colour and one with patterns of higher or lower values. Also, deep honks make noise longer, which means they're less practical around musicians. In any case, the noise can make it difficult for the musician to focus, or listeners to enjoy the music; music being a controlled use of pleasant sounds, other sounds can be unpredictable and randomly break the flow, or be too loud to hear the music.
This is why honks can be annoying. They're louder the closer you are tho, so you should be okay if the distance between you and them is the one needed to teleport to friends. They're also far from loud enough to really be unpleasant, it's the frustration of being distracted that is.

Bruh, reminds me of this one veteran that kept interrupting me.
I was about to practice piano at home. This veteran want to lit me, sure. I sit down and practise. The veteran talked to a friend then came to me and took out their piano and interupped me and played the exact same song. I'm like ಠ_ಠ but I wanna be respectful so I stopped and let her play. After she's done, I took out my piano but NOPE she's not done yet. After a few minutes, I went behind valley's gate for some quiet. She came to me and interrupt me again. She finished, I clap and bow then went to the previous spot. She put down table and sat down and I did too. "Do you want to learn piano?" Not her exact question but similar. I was like "umm sure" and was pretty confused lol. She befriended me cause she said she has to go and she'll come back. I nickname her 'annoy piano'. I told my friends about her and this one time, we were chilling at home. She tele or online idk, she came to me and started playing. I was like "omg guys it's annoy piano" My friends started to interrupt her playing lol. After she's done, I dragged my friends to CR lol. Moral of the story, pls never interuppt other players playing even if you somehow think you can do better. Show them support when they finish. Be respectful ain't hard yall 😌✨

The instant you start honking I think you'll go crazy honking if I don't honk back so I pause my entire fudging performance to honk back. and since most of these performances rely on muscle memory, I then have to either restart the phrase, verse or peice, and it ticks me off so much >:')

Technically you can play any notes to be in a jam session because your instrument is still in key in the same realm in sky. Different realms have different keys.

I’ve had multiple incidents yesterday about keys changing in the middle of me playing a song (it’s short and a little repetitive but the wrong note still gets my attention)

I’ve been playing for around two months so I could be fairly new, I like to practice the piano in the start of wasteland since there is no background music, rarely someone disturbs thankfully, or some come by to listen. Srsly ppl like that are appreciated.

If I see someone playing, I usually give a small bow then go on my way because for me someone else's presence is enough to distract me (as an amateur, I usually get nervous. Bowing is my way of saying "what you're playing is really pretty, I do not wish to disturb you"). Sometimes, though, I may take out my own instrument to see the notes they play, but I NEVER interrupt them.
