Any father who tells his own sons "never shoot back, EVER," putting criminal lives above the truly innocent, tends to inspire depression. Any man who chooses to cut the throat of his miraculously reborn son, to save his smiling killer, was never a father.
There’s a good reason that Dick Greyson is considered Batman’s greatest Success. He took what Bruce taught him and built some extra context into it, with his own skills and became a great leader in the Titans. Bruce does come off as very callous in this comic but the end is pretty wholesome. A good reminder that Dick is very important to Bruce not just as a sidekick but as his son and friend. Also the voice actors for the Bat and Dick are Great here, Jason could use a bit of work though
To me Robin has always been Batman’s last piece of innocence and humanity. That one thing keeping him from going psycho. Dick will always be that first robin and Bruce Wayne’s first child.
Haha, definitely true about Jason's voice actor needing work. Even without seeing the end credits I could tell from the voice acting that this was inspired by the Legendary animated series. That cartoon is amazing and this is a very well done video.
This was one of my favorite comics. Jason finding out about Nightwing and vice versa. Then Nightwing and Robin taking down the lab together. It was great. Nightwing and Jason didn't get much time together when Jason was Robin. Not like he did with Tim. I loved the times Dick and Tim went out togther as Nightwing and Robin. Brothers in arms. Nightwing telling Robin, "So let's see what trouble we can get into Robin." Then of course the time right after Knightsend when Bruce asked Nightwing to fill in for him as Batman. The Dick and Tim were Batman and Robin. Man those were the days.
I love that Bruce later officially adopted Dick instead of just being his caretaker. Since Dick was already an adult, it didn't change much. But it was a symbolic gesture, finally accepting him into his heart as his son.
@@Channel9001 Both jason and tim were recruited to be robin. Dick was adopted out of love, compassion, and empathy. Bruce knew what dick was going thru and wanted to be there for him, not make him a soldier in a war. Bruce never had such a close relationship with anyone else.
@@antondelacruz9362 I thought Batman swore off Robins after Jason's death, and it was Tim who offered to be Robin after he found Batman's identity on his own.
@@Channel9001 yes in the 90s. But (SPOILER) since then, tims dad has been murdered, tim has been adopted, jason has come back to life and been adopted, other robins have come and gone, and the universe has reset at least 3 or 4 times.
I have this excellent issue. It rocks because it shows more into Bruces' desire to have a son, be a father figure, and that he is lonely. Also, it shows how Dick saw his role as a mentor to Jason. I just wonder if this story is still considered " canon" or not?
This comic always had a weird place in continuity, despite how good it is. The comic states that after bruce kicked dick out he went to college, but dick was in college long before he gave up being robin. Also, it's revealed that dick met the teen titans, joined them, and shortly after became nightwing. When in previous comics, dick joined and formed the teen titans long before bruce fired him. Plus, the teen titans disbanded twice, then after dick left college he formed the new teen titans, a while into that run he became nightwing. So yeah, this comic has some iffy continuity. Though what's not cannon anymore, is Joker being responisible for dick giving up being robin.
A lot of emotional beats come off flat for all three characters. Bruce's "ALL RIGHT!" has no punch, Dick's playful banter lacks enthusiasm, and Jason has no edge.
Very nice VA from everyone. What a gem of a channel & music too every track fit the scene perfectly. Sound effects and all yes man. This channel is dope asf
here's the thing that really confuses me, how did batman not expect Dick and Jason to not get kidnapped so much, WHEN HE GAVE THEM THE LEAST AMOUNT OF GADGETS. They barely had any batarangs BUT WHEN TIM COMES ALONG HE GIVES THE ROBINS MORE GADGETS AND LESS COLORFUL COSTUMES. GET IT TOGETHER BRUCE.
Who says they had fewer gadgets? Robin solo series seemed like he had whatever. I've always thought they stock up themselves, what they think they need. And the last one is obviously just design philosophy changing. Robin wasn't any more kidnapped than Batman himself getting tied up. Classic Robin outfit is honestly in line with most other superhero outfits. It's just that batmans is darker, so it contrasts. Hour man had a yellow cape and legs too. Starman was red. Atom was yellow and blue. Terrific was red ect.
@@DSan-kl2yc Ok I can get behind the whole colorful costumes thing but here's the thing man. Batman shows some callous emotional traits, Social Darwinism and intimacy issues, like a macho dad doing "tough love," probably because Nightwing and Robin II are not his biological sons, like the later Damian Wayne or Robin V? Also, because the Dark Age ('80s-90s) Batman started with "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" and "Batman: Year One," by Frank Miller, a libertarian-turned conservative film noir mystery writer. An unpopular opinion: Joel Schumacher's "Batman Forever "more realistically showed Batman reluctantly accepting a young adult Dick Grayson as Robin, because of their shared bereavement by violent criminals, acrobatic and martial arts skills. I would use that origin and start Dick off as Nightwing. Batman should have put Jason in a foster home and got him to see a child psychologist, instead of training him as "Batman, Jr."

How Fisk is still alive, Felicia's side (what was she doing before and during Spider-venom rampage), MJ's side (where was she during Pete's peril), the Four (concern for Pete and wary of Symbiote) and a few more.
Nice work! Jason's voice might be somewhat of especially compared to his performance in the Diplomat's Son, but that's not the issue here. The comic, however, is. Bruce is just unlikable here. If you were lonely Bruce you could have just given Jason some home and love and not make him your next child soldier. The kid would have been better of that way.

I really love the teen titans theme
Nice. Do Punisher when he fought the New Avengers. Daredevil.
Now this is the DC stuff that made us fan's of the property....Not that other crap we have been subjected to like most of the CW stuff and some of the animated film's😒.....All I have to say it thank goodness for the good animated shows and just Batman in general🤣🤟
I mean it would be better if he had many robins but trained them till they were in they were adults
Have you read Spider's Shadow? I am thinking they should do a few spinoff stories as well as a sequel. How Fisk is still alive, Felicia's side (what was she doing before and during Spider-venom rampage), MJ's side (where was she during Pete's peril), the Four (concern for Pete and wary of Symbiote) and a few more.
Probably the same reason Bruce made Terry the new Batman.
I love Jason Todd and Dick Grayson so much!! :((
9:30 this is a child ?
Did you do the dub for state of survival ?
Fan fuckingtastic 👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Oh, look! Not only did you scan and upload the entire comic, but you also stole audio. But, "no copyright infringement intended", despite the actual fact that you actually did commit copyright infringement. Well, good thing you posted that disclaimer! Now UA-cam can't take it down! Legally, you are immune from any penalties for your crime!
So is this the storyline they used for Jason Todd in Titans? 👀
The New BTAS music was a NICE touch!
This dub and must is really cool and pretty based
Is it safe to assume that the art team wernt traceing over 3D computer models?
what year did this comic come out?
1988.
@@bibbyboxx2219 they just did a DC 2022 review on it like last week ua-cam.com/video/AppBhAnFDyA/v-deo.html

Been done ua-cam.com/video/AppBhAnFDyA/v-deo.html
