  • I made this as a final project for a New Media class at the University of Lethbridge. I wanted to show off all the different animation techniques and skills not only shown in the classThank you to the university for letting me use the software for this video and for a great semester!

Great video 👍 (and thank you for leaving the Note what software u used)
I attempted smth similar a month ago for my university application so i'd like to ask a few question.
What software specifically did you use to arrange all the individuals stop motion images into a video?
Did you choose this particular style for the 3D for any special reason?
For the switch from 0:58 to 1:00 did you draw an additional background or did you made yourself assets you could rearrange?
How did you shoot the stop motion sequences? like did you pose deliberately and let Fotos taken by someone or did you move normally and let the pictures taken automatically with some kind of series photography option and later delete some to make it more or less choppy?
Where there any particular hard issues you faced during the development process and how did you solved or avoided them?
What would you like to do differently or what would you change if you had more resources like f.e. a team that would aid you

Wow! Thank u for the questions, I'll try to answer them the best I can here!
I used Davinci Resolve to arrange the stop motion frames together, setting the preferences to just automatically make an image opened on the program only last for 2 frames.
I chose the style of 3D I used because it was the easiest kind to work with with my limited knowledge. The New Media class I was in was not dedicated to 3D so we didn't go over much lol.
To do the stop motion section, I just filmed myself moving in small increments and then went back and just on my phone I took screenshots of each frame. I'd recommend if you do this method to not just move normally in the video, the pauses in movement are necessary to not have blur.
Some of the issues I faced during this project was the rendering of the 3D section. I know nothing about 3D animation and it was a struggle to get it rendered in a quality that I liked. Other than that, I didn't have any problems making this project.
If I had more resources, I would've probably made the video a little longer and would have covered a wider array of animation formats I'm familiar with. But, I had a deadline for this project and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Thank you for your questions! If you have more I can try to answer them lol. Good luck with your uni application!!
