I just bought one, all I got in the case were two magazines and a freaking lock. Gun manufacturers must hate us here in California, I don’t blame them.
Gonna have to agree. This is probably the best XD9 video out there. I'm buying an XD9 SC from a friend soon, and I'll be doing the engraving mod, as well as polishing the barrel. Something about the black gun, with white lettering, and polished barrel that just looks awesome. Great video, man. Thumbs up.
I just bought this exact package and love it. I have small hands and carry this gun around the house with me for home protection. The white really pops...looks great. Hope you do a video of you shooting it and going over the fine points...as I'm a newbie. Thanks
You are welcome. I will let you know. I took it down, cleaned and lubed it last night. The mag loader is good to break in the springs in the mag which are pretty strong. I just move it up and down a few hundred times to make loading the mags a little easier.
Thank you. I couldn't agree more about the visual with the white lettering. It really makes the firearm stand out. Remember, you can only apply the coloring to actual engraved lettering and not to the laser etchings as the etching is too narrow & shallow to apply to. Thanks for watching!
***** Oh, that’s right. I apologize for forgetting there really are states with less freedoms, where governments actually think 10 round magazines are safer than 13 round magazines - for everyone except the criminals they clearly love so much, who obviously aren’t going to impose any such limits on themselves. Of course, it’s fairly easy to forget here where three pieces of pro-gun legislation have passed within the last four months - a clarification to strengthen the “stand your ground” law, a law making hunting the sole means of animal population control, and similar. That was an attempt to rub it in, by the way. LOL.
I have switched to using nothing but Lucas CLP & Lucas Gun Oil on all of my firearms!!!! The stuff is absolutely fantastic & can be purchased at any local Advance Auto or local auto parts store!!!!!
Although small, this firearm is bulky. My advise would be to visit a range, and test out different firearms. Both for size, and caliber. They usually have a good variety of firearms. Once you've found a couple that feel good, shoot them. That's the best way to find one you both are comfortable with. As far as caliber, again it all comes down to what your both comfortable shooting well. Any caliber can stop an intruder. Let me know if you have any questions, and what you decide to purchase.
If you're using traditional gun oil, it's generally only used on the four points where the slide meets the frame. If you're using Balistol like I do, you have more flexibility since it's not a traditional gun oil.
My Hellcat is at the Gunsmith to have upgrades installed in hopes the trigger pull is reduced to under 4 pounds. That 7-pound trigger pull is unacceptable for me.
Its a great gun. For your wife it will be quite loud due to it being a subcompact but its very easy to hold and shoot. I just took my 15 year old sister out to shoot the other day and she loved it. If you going to put a light on it its very hard to find one to mount on the gun due to its size but you can order the light from springfield for about 200. Overall i give it a 9 out of 10
I have the xd9 sub compact, came apart with no problems, but the slide will not go bac on. I have tried everything , holding the back safety , why won't it go back all the way? It goes to the normal looking spot almost, but just stopes like it is hitting a wall. Can't get to the slide reliese to let the takedown lever down. The barrel just keeps falling off, can't put the lever down.
My wife is so scared of hand guns mainly due to the size of them. Both of us have small hands and my question to you is would you recommend this gun for us. We live in a great neighborhood in L.A. but our neighborhood has had four home invasions this year.
Best XD 9mm Sub-Compact video to date. Thorough, quick, clear. Cool. Thanks. I bought one 3 years ago and haven't fired it yet. I'm going to take it out this weekend though.
Cleaning a gun is pretty easy. Just make sure to triple check that it's unloaded first! :) The NRA mat I ordered from the NRA store. They have two versions. One for handguns, one for rifles. Thanks for watching!
There is so many choices of gun solvent designed for the job why not pick up a bottle? Using gasoline is not a good idea for a number of reasons including it is extremely flammable. Buy some gun solvent like hoppes #9 at Walmart, Amazon, gun shop, etc.
Hi jon I recently purchased the Springfield Armory dxs 9mm. After I cleaned it with the ballistol and reassembled it it seemed to be very dry and not lubricated. Should I use lubricant?
As for me.....after cleaning I always use a small amount of lubricant especially on the rails. Never liked the idea of a cleaner/lubricant, but thats me.
I too just bought one of the XD Sub-compacts and really want to thank you for your video. It really helped me. One question, where do you put the gun oil? Just on the slide? Thanks.
Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed the video. You sure have a lot more willpower then I do. Sometimes I buy guns from the range I'm a member of just so I can shoot it immediately! LOL. Let me know what you think of it after you shoot it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
One of he first things as a NRA basic pistol I teach is the guidelines NRA sets. Never clean a gun with ammo present, also you do not wrap a patch around a bore. brush it is designed to clean the groves of the barrel.I hope you are not a instructor. Having 2 loaded magazines in this video, and the finger touching the trigger is a recipe for disaster.
"Never clean a gun with ammo present"...Wtf. He placed the mags into the case and then chucked it away. Would u prefer he locked his ammo away in the basement before cleaning his gun? "having 2 loaded magazines in this video..."...Seriously? I'm surprised u didn't go off on him for not doing a safety sally gun check as well. Smh. "...and the finger touching the trigger"...Other than when he DRY fired the gun at the beginning of the vid, again for purpose of disassembly, reassembly function check, when did he have his finger on the trigger? Good lawd.
Not doing our cause ANY good by calling this gun a WEAPON. Well, unless you are planning on using it for things other than self defense, plinking or competition shooting.
I just bought one, all I got in the case were two magazines and a freaking lock. Gun manufacturers must hate us here in California, I don’t blame them.
I got the same in Texas, this was an early special they did when it came out, now it’s 2 mags and cable lock
Same here
Mine doesn’t have a case it’s a bag lol
Gonna have to agree. This is probably the best XD9 video out there. I'm buying an XD9 SC from a friend soon, and I'll be doing the engraving mod, as well as polishing the barrel. Never ever reverse the direction of a bronze brush while still inside the bore, and not on someone else's gun, double FOUL
Very helpful video. Now I will clean the exact gun. How to apply the nail polish on the gun? It looks great
Don't clean like he did.....

Contrary to the video, the magazine capacities are 13-rounds (not 10-rounds) for the compact magazine and 16-rounds for the extended magazine.

All I have to say is; DO NOT CLEAN YOUR GUN THIS WAY.
This is a Micky Mouse way of doing it.

Is it bad to release it unassisted?

Exactly that. Trying to clean a loaded gun is really the only thing you need to fear. Other then that, cleaning a gun is easy :)
For cleaning, would it be acceptable to use "air in a can" to blow dry powder/residue after using the
Toothbrush?

What’s the best holster to get for the Sub compact XD 9mm if you have a laser or flash light on your weapon
Good choice! Thanks for watching.
I have question I been using gasoline to clean my gun....you think it going damage it

Ballistol the whole gun where steel is present then wipe clean and lightly lubricate the rails. This guy didn't clean the gun properly
As for me.....after cleaning I always use a small amount of lubricant especially on the rails. Never liked the idea of a cleaner/lubricant, but thats me.

On the rails
will this shoot all ammo or is it picky like a hi point
Black talen bullets? How did he get em
Sorry, but you need to watch a gun cleaning video from a pro. That was wrong.
What did he do wrong?
I didn’t see him do anything wrong...
You only go one way through the barrel.... Same direction as the bullet.
@@Uncle_Baby_Billy Many things. but you need to push your rod all the way thru. he pushed it half way then pull back.
Thank you sir! Glad you enjoyed the video. You sure have a lot more willpower then I do. Sometimes I buy guns from the range I'm a member of just so I can shoot it immediately! LOL. Let me know what you think of it after you shoot it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
AZConcealedCarry would it be shooters world?
What is that stuff u used to clean it
I've shot several brands of ammo through it both FMJ & hollow points w/o issue!
Amazing XD cleaning video! Very helpful for first time pistol owner
I hope your joking this gun didn't clean this properly
Lol. Not a safety fan. Sounded funny.
It's not really necessary. If you do use compressed air, be very careful of where you use it.

Bada__ is what it is
6:45 is just cringe worth....

Half Ass cleaning Job! Plus that Gun is way too big to be chambered in 9mm
