I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

He's literally a living legend but so underrated these days due to the crappy taste of the generation.
Underrated is not a write word to use for Sonu ji, as he is the only guy who could earn a living legend or lord of chords tag to his credit. It is all about the time. He is still doing exceptional work in his own space. People crave to hear his voice. It is noone's fault. He earned the highest recognition as a singer and he is the only one who still gets mainstream songs in comparison to his other contemporary artists.

@@ajitnairk010 Yes dear..You got me wrong. Whatever names you have used are not his contemporaries, they all are seniors to him. So don't get Spb ji, Yesudas ji's, Chitra ji's names here. I don't know about other singers, there was a time when SP bala ji use to sing a lot of songs for kannada, tamil, telugu songs. I don't think I have heard a single song in SPB's rendition in kannada in the last 5 years. Is he still getting that amount of work? The demand has drastically came down. So, these folks are not Sonu's competitors. You can compare with KK, Shaan, etc. One thing you must agree with me with the quality that Sonu ji has maintained till now. Just hear the songs of all the 18 singers of the sangeet setu program which has recently happened.
Not underrated for sure. He is great but he became irrelevant to current generation. Taste changes, music evolves.
Also, "only" living legend? Lata Mangeshkar is still alive. Period.

@@bloodyvj4486 Come on, music is not lost. I am no more than eighteen and yet I deeply enjoy all kinds of music from different languages and industries. You cannot always blame the listening generation, I know numerous young people who share the same taste as mine. The only problem is the industry which releases out just too many songs with no feel to it, they are too mainstream. There is a reason why Arijit Singh is the most beloved among this generation because he is one of those few mainstream artists who really knows how to give emotion to music and the songs he sings are incredibly written and composed. I am tired of all the remixes and punjabi songs coming out of the industry and I am tired for people blaming this generation for everything.
He is one of the most from a small number of Indian singers who doesn't need auto tune. Salute Living legend Sonu Nigam.

Translation also won't do any justice to the actual meaning and the "feeling" that these types of songs actually capable of holding and provides in its own language. Indian singers are the best in the world! Music and singing is an art which is extremely difficult to master... That is why classical singers and musicians spends years on practice...and continue practicing even after mastering these arts! I feel western musicians are hugely over rated... Shouting isn't singing!! That's why in India we don't follow western musicians much ( though these days people are going mad after these singers for no reason other than showing off). What you people adjudge as 'talent' in your talent shows is below average for us! So are the western musicians

There's a legend of a man named Tansen (idk how to properly spell it in English), he was one of the 9 gems of Akbar's court at the time he ruled in India. Tansen was said to be so skilled that he could even light a candle with just his music.
Same legend further has it that upon using "Deep Raag" to invoke fire in the lamps, he got unconscious (apparently went to coma). Then his own Guru (teacher) was called to help him. He used "Raag Malhaar" to bring him back to consciousness. Though I don't believe in this story, yet Taansen surely lived in the mediaeval period
