Sorry for the different video, but I've been wanting to share this. Thank you so much for willing to listen to my story! Next week will be back to the usual art video! ❤
Stories like these always reassure me that being “selfish” is the best- like, if you enroll me into a school without my consent, then I’m not going, full stop. Especially if it’s a school I can’t find crap about through the internet.
not gonna lie I'm glad I didn't just fly to another country just to learn another language. I already hated the classroom environment from the mandatory education from my childhood, why would I want to go back? When I started picking up Japanese I just did it at my own pace, and sure enough I eventually understood it without ever going there. I especially dodged a bullet not doing it for Korean, because I found I just didn't enjoy learning it very much and quit after a month, I can't imagine how different things would have been if I actually had to study in Korea. Low key from what I've heard about the education system in China plus this video, I'd just stay at home and do it if I wanted to learn Mandarin. As for Art, why would I want to go to art school when I've got Fung to teach me how to draw bald heads? :)
With online classes and different apps available for language learning, it's great that we can learn at our own pace! 🙌 I guess learning directly in the country of origin gives you bigger opportunity to chat with the locals, but from my experience, it's not that easy to befriend a local 😭😅 That last part made me wanna draw more bald heads 👩🦲✨️
oh gosh! thank you for sharing this with us. That was a horrible + scary experience. I'm glad you can stand up and leave that place. You and your friends are courageous. (out of context; this kind of storytelling is good, it's like I'm hearing the newest tea from my friend )
Thanks for sharing these things and the advice as for me to be more cautious (especially when picking schools/university). I'm a chindo who's in a chinese based high school here in Indonesia, so I'm pretty much expected to go to China for university. Anyways, I'm still looking for a decent university but I'm still having trouble and needs some advice and people's experience about it, this video in particular helps me to understand what the university is like first before studying there and try finding a better university if it doesn't suit me
Hope this could help! I did meet up with some university students in that city and asked about their living condition, they said it's totally different😂 The school I mentioned is indeed a highschool, and highschool in China is crazy. But universities are known to be more lenient, especially to international students! But still, do your research! 🙌 Good luck finding a university! Wish you the best! Semangat! ❤
Ik this is different from your usual videos but I’ve got to admit, I really enjoyed the storytelling🤭I’m hoping maybe we could get some more similar content in the future? Ofcourse your usual art related videos are also greatly appreciated 💗
Never expect this from Fung but here we are and I'm here for it (more storytimes pls I was literally drawing while listening to this) and I think it would be a good series or whatever (my English is not englishing today)
The description of the hostel and the attitude of teachers towards students sounds like I'm listening to about Russia. I'm Russian, so I know what I'm talking about. Everything sounded so familiar that I can't even imagine your emotions.. But it's terrible anyway. (I'm sorry if there are spelling mistakes, my English is not very good)
Well, I’m Russian too, and were terrified of this story. Not sure in what remote areas you live, but that’s definitely not my experience. Sorry for yours, though, try to escape from there…
...I couldn't survive there. NO LIGHTS AT NIGHT!? I HAVE BEEN SLEEPING WITH LIGHTS TURNED ON FOR 5 YEARS- I would speak about your room doors not closing but...I literally keep my front door and balcony open all day. I live in an apartment thats close to the cities like...graveyard- (NAHH Those teachers that hole school is so mid and stupid! Literally sounds so bad how embarrassing for them! Like how can you act like that and not feel embarrassed? Im embarrassed by hearing this and I wasn't them its that embarrassing!)
@@Lelen1001 tbh I know I'm just so scared of the dark I can't sleep at night if my room isn't like brighter than the sun so that's why I said I wouldn't survive there-
NGL This was an Intense Story I've ever hear....And I can relate to how you've been felt against the favourism kids.... I'm an Indian too I taught Learning Chinese But it's fine now There are more Chinese school other than in China 💀
KAK? AKU GAK TAU KALO KAKAK ITU INDO LOH😭😭😭 but seriously though, the school was really really messed up. I can't even understand why they're still there, they should really go to jail bruh. Love your content, it always motivates me to draw and improve my drawing❤
i don't think the age of consent is actually explicitly mentioned in chinese legislation, all it mentions is that if the minor is under 14 then it's automatically considered not consenting (article 236). However searching it up I found this weird footnote that if you have 'special duties' to the minor then it becomes 16? oh and this entire law only ever mentions "girls" and "women", e.x. 不满十四周岁的幼女 -- young girl of not yet fourteen (international) years of age. in fact i didn't manage to find any laws regarding male victims at all? idk there's also this recent amendment which was made 2020 (i think in response to a scandal relating this) but it's super vague, just says 'it's not allowed to abduct, kidnap, abuse or assault minors' . the article is, apparently, 2 sentences in its entirety oh and it also says schools (学校) must report incidents to police -- but if the place you went to is this weird hybrid between a university and a school then they might be in a grey zone where they can conceal it(?) again i have no idea. but i can say for certain, chinese schools are not like that, and chinese people in general are not as insane as the people in the video (although to be fair i've only really been in northern china but i've heard southeners are...kinda...crazy sometimes...) overall i think chinese attitudes towards this sorta thing isn't as strict as western attitudes -- in the sense that they think you are able to consent at earlier, e.x. 16, compared to the western consensus of 18. Baidu mentions this article which says that minors from 16-18 should "exercise autonomy" but have cases regarding them be treated extra carefully i.e. they can do whatever they want, but if they report it then it gets treated as a case under the age of consent (i think?) -- which means regardless of whether the girl was 16-18 or 18+ and was willing i think neither parties were breaking laws, nor will they upset any chinese people -- so unless the girl reports it herself it apparently isn't a problem oh and take this with a grain of salt, i'm not a lawyer and this is all off baidu wiki. besides, in practice i think they don't actually really use this law and more just use opinion of related parties, which i assume for minors would include their parents so hopefully some common sense comes in there (in most cases). i also have no idea why i sat down and unironically just wrote 4 paragraphs on this rabbit hole...except maybe to conclude that no, the law isnt as bad as it first seems, but overall it isn't great either? regardless 16 i think is sorta the soft age requirement for that sorta stuff so...if she was 16 or over then no one there would bat an eyebrow
Hey, I've been watching this on another account, I just moved here That was a weird situation and I'm glad you are actually alright, no actual abuse there let alone kidnapping, I can't help but think the worst 😭😭😭 Anyway... Is it just me or your art kinda different lately? Like... More... Sexy 🤤
Story time and watching hot character's being made is a two-in-one prize! (But in all seriousness; glad you're out of that place, china is all money talk since they only capitalize on that and normalize bribery by rich families behind the laws eyes. So vids like this ain't boring or smth!! So... Yeah... It's really shitty :( Idk if u wanna go to China (or another place to learn any language) again after that but I hope the next will be better to u ^^ Love u Fung ❤❤

I'm sorry you had to go through this nightmare. What was Uncle A thinking when he enrolled you there?! Jeez
To give him a benefit of the doubt, he claimed it's been years since he visited the school, so he might not know the current situation 😅

Most Chinese students are treated even worse in elementary and high school since they gotta face a big exam and literally got no free time at all lol.
