Thank you for posting this, as for me , with this particular form it brings back a lot of memories as far as this form of monkey style Kung-fū. Nice bit of nostalgia for me.
When you give yourself to Chinese martial arts (I'm gonna say Chinese because in my experience everything else is little and weak in comparison) you're bound to be stepping on the same stones that were stepped on by the same people who crafted and developed these styles. Hence, you'll "re-develop" them without knowing about them. This happened to me a lot with Mantis, Zuiquan and even Pak Mei. I'd just come up with an idea, develop it into moves and applications, and then I'd read about it in a book or see it somewhere else lol. Good work too, cuz it means you're really grasping concepts. :)
Thank you Sifu Barber, because of you my son finally found a Mattial Arts that he loves and connects to.. Do you have a website for classes? You got a Sub for life with us. Thank you Sifu!
Thank you for the nice comment. Yes our website is sixmonkeymartialarts.thinkific.com we don’t teach anyone under 18 but if he’s older then yes he can join. If not I always recommend a parent join and you both can learn together or keep with our videos here on YT. Best of luck in your training!
Great question. It’s a relaxed breathing pattern. However the internal side of this art is on Qi development through meditation and qigong training unique to Monkey Kung Fu.
Hi Max, great question. So you are using the wrist bone which when conditioned is harder and less fragile than a fist. You are also using the fingers and palms for point striking and other special techniques.
You have flow.
Mostly center mass displacement
Does this style allow me to tame my own monkeys?

I developed a “shadow boxing” technique that uses this method - I had no idea it was as emphasized in the Monkey KF system. Thanks 😊

Monkey steals master’s wine is wild.
Awesome Sifu
What happens if their Chi is stronger and they take you to the ground? Is there a defense for that?
A stronger qi wouldn’t take someone to the ground. But yes a defense is called sprawling lol 😆
Cool, but as an absolute beginner and observer, I wanna know more! Tell me more about drunkin monkey!
Thanks for your comment. There is a lot to learn with Drunken Monkey. Check this out www.sixmonkeymartialarts.com/drunken-monkey-kung-fu/

hi, why do you use the cup hands? Aren’t they more fragile than a fist?

Helps with measuring strike for what would be called the 1 inch punch
