My bike had a terrible rattle, the Rocker lockers cured my noise. My bike had more miles, everything had more wear. If you read the instructions they only cure the one problem the shaft hitting the bolt. They don't help with lifter noise, play in the rocker arms.
Your bike had minimal noise to start with.
    Nice video.

Yes I knew it was to fix noise where the shaft was hitting the bolt I just didn't know if any of my noise was coming from that. It's good to know that I won't start getting that noise as I rack up the miles!

Great video…very educational, I don’t think I’ll be doing this particular mod to my bike. Thanks for posting your results, Well Done!

Come on Roy are you sure you don't want to try it too? LOL. With the sweet pipes you have on your bike can you even hear the engine noise?

I chased the same noise on my Harley engines. I drilled/tapped to put a grub screw that locked the shaft in place. Same results you got... just wasn't enough to be worth the time. Finally gave up and lived with it...

Yeah I wasn't worried about the noise but when I saw those rocker lockers I thought I'd give it a try. Besides I always were ear plugs when I ride so I don't hear anything but exhaust!

Nice work……how do you test the fuel pressure and test the fuel injectors , clean them? Thanks 🚀👍

Good question. I don't think the XR has a test port to check the pressure so I would probably buy a new fuel hose and mount a gauge on it. Then you could plug it into the tank and hit the key to get a pressure reading. A new fuel hose is expensive from HD but it looks like the hose fits several Sportsters so there are cheaper aftermarket versions. You can test the coil of the injector with an ohm meter and you can also click test them by hooking a 9 volt battery to the injector connections. If it's working then it should click each time the battery makes contact. I've also built stuff to pressurize the rail and injectors on the workbench then activate the injector with the 9 volt. That way you can see the spray pattern and you can also run cleaner through them that way.

Thank you for this! These XR’s are noisy bikes. I’m surprised at how smooth your bike is at idle - mine is a paint mixer. Do you have stiffer engine mounts in the bike?

I have a set of stiffer mounts to install but they are still on the shelf. What's in it now are original. Have you done any tuning to your bike? I've added more fuel all around and that helped smooth things out.

@@xpsgarage Nice - I do have a Dynojet PowerVision, which I am a huge fan of. A few autotune sessions made a big difference in how the bike runs around town. Are you running idle in open or closed loop? I’ll probably whip up a tune and do like you suggested.

@@yo_marc It's all open loop. I just added fuel where it felt like it needed it and I'm very happy with the results. I do plan to get a wideband in the future just to see where the mixture is at.
