I love Sofie's music. She really got me through lockdown. Because of her personal experience she has been an advocate for the #me too movement but I think that she should be get behind the #me too even if Ur a Jew movement because of the lack of support from European feminist groups.
How is she legendary? Legendary people are known by everyone in the world. Only Europe knows about Sophie Ellis Bextor. A few hits doesn’t make you legendary. Album after album of hits does.
Oh please do not exagerate. "Murder on the dancefloor" is great. But that's basically her unique success so don't talk about her "amazing discography"...my gosh people nowadays
@@rodolphel8332 It's from a great album! I'll Get Over You, Music Gets the Best of Me, Take Me Home - all great! She also sang on Groovejet by Spiller. Her new stuff sounded good when I saw her live too.
She's been making lovely dance tracks for decades still going strong, even more lovely, and loved her family covid lockdown sets. The movie isn't that big of a deal or outrageous. Her song to me is far better than the movie and will outlive saltburn easily.
I'm delighted that Sophies song has reached the top of the charts with one of the best songs ever written. She is such a great talented singer songwriter. Well done Sophie.
I confess, I never knew about Sophie Ellis-Bextor. In the midwest of USA, British pop hits don't make much of a splash. But I'm glad I get to discover her now.
Greg Alexander of The New Radicals of “You get what you give” fame, amongst many others (ie: “The game of love” by Santana) wrote that song. He should be given more credit. What a pure genius. 😊
Actually, he co-wrote it, so credit goes to Sophie as well; she's that talented. That said, I am a huge fan of his work and really changed pop music over the past 20+ years.
@@xamalion7334 Actually YGWYG is very upbeat and tells you not to give up. Somewhere We'll Know (the follow-up single to YGWYG) is the one that is actually melancholic. I love it.
Great short interview As a listener of synth 80s songs, I thought this was released around that decade. Glad I found the same genre that was released around the 2000s.
Although I am a Spanish native speaker from Chile, I cant avoid using its rythm with some words in Italian. I know , I know, I know, I know, I know...like.."tra Londra, Londra, Londra, Londra "(from London like Sophie)...I love her since Groovejet. Congratulations and greetings from Chile 🇨🇱. I hope someday come on a tour to South America...we are waiting for you.
I just got introduced to this song through a Singit Live cover. I have never seen Saltburn. What a great catchy groove song! A few years ago I thought Carly Rae Jepsen was the queen of catchy pop songs. This one is right there also. ❤
danisnotonfire introduced me to this song many many years ago so good! recently heard it in a Christchurch nightclub (it doesn't get airplay in the us)
Listen to her music regularly. Have never stopped since I bought her first CD. A CD I couldn't easily find in LA all those years ago. Finally found it in a small West Hollywood music store. Six months later her music was everywhere.
Loved "Saltburn". Just watched Sophie's performance at BAFTA's and really enjoyed every minute of it. I replayed that performance over and over and over. She looks amazing! Dancers were amazing! Performance was so amazing!
I'm 65 yrs and still have the original CD 😂 But now Murder on the Dance floor is top 3 on my UA-cam playlist videos on the daily 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ Congratulations Sophie 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤😊😊😊 lot's of love from New Zealand ❤ 🇳🇿 👏
Love from Turkey 🇹🇷 I love Sophie since my childhood. "Murder on the dance floor" is a good hit but the other ones is great af, especially Music gets the best of me is my favorite one.
The Murder on the Dance Floor singer has a name, and it’s Sophie Ellis Bextor. The title of the video is like she’s just a singer of bars. She’s a great pop singer from 2000s
Omg at this point (ya, even tho the current #1 song is unusually massive) PLZ let this flawless, absolute pop/dance/disco GEM w/ no burn rate just get that ONE week at #1!!
Never stopped listening to the song. Love Sophie!

I've never stopped listening to her. Always great music
Amazing song. Live forever ❤
i hate how they named this interview, THIS IS NOT SOME "MURDER ON THE DANCE FLOOR SINGER" this is legendary SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR
How is she legendary? Legendary people are known by everyone in the world. Only Europe knows about Sophie Ellis Bextor. A few hits doesn’t make you legendary. Album after album of hits does.
As a kid, I was obsessed with her glittery green eyeshadow she wears in the music video
I've never fallen out of love with this song or Sophie.
Because you are stupid!
Because you listen to ugly singers like Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor Swift.
Sophie's Live Kitchen Disco's through lockdown were awesome
She has an amazing discography! Couldn’t happen to a more deserving woman ❤
Still gorgeous.

@@rodolphel8332 you really took the time to write that. You need to get a job!
Oh you mean I took the time to write 1 line 🤣 Yes I did. And your response clearly shows you have no argument at all to answer

It’s similar to ‘Stranger Things’ using Kate Bush’s Running Up that Hill!
I love when fantastic music comes back around! ❤🎉
i was thinking abt that too! love it

lol
Its nuts that you find a song that perfectly encapsulates a film this much. Especially given the music video. BRAVO
Sophie always beautiful I am still so obsessed with the official music video of Murder on the Dancefloor
Several of her videos are very memorable.
I confess, I never knew about Sophie Ellis-Bextor. In the midwest of USA, British pop hits don't make much of a splash. But I'm glad I get to discover her now.
Just discovered this song after the movie... Cant get it out my head! Love it!
i hope you continue finding more awesome hits from before. there are a lot!
Listen to “Get Over You” ❤
you should check out all of her albums, her songs are really awesome, a lot of different genres
So now i'm gonna have to listen to this lady's entire discography, 'cuz i'm so in love with her
She’s a great sport.
It's the early 00s... and life is good!!!
She is absolutely delightful!
She is like a fine wine gets better looking with age
The Song paired with Barry Keoghan‘s Dance Scene is worldclass , great Art .

So pleased for Sophie..check out her songs 'Youngblood' and 'Wild forver' amongst my favorites too.
Murder on the dance floor was a favourite
I've never heard this song before. As soon as I watched the last scene of the movie, I immediately searched it and added it to my playlist.
It has to reach number 1 finally!!
this song is classic!
The whole cd was and still is amazing!
This song is a masterpiece
I loved Sophie's music since 2001 ❤❤ I'm ao glad things are going fabulous for her ...
The song is climbing at Billboard Charts & TikTok top 50 chart

I've met Sophie a couple of times, and I'm also from Saltburn. The town, not the film.
Watched her perform at her first concert ever un México last year... WOW! What an artist. She is a british national treasure ❤
Sophie is a sweetheart, love her 💕

I love it! She still has the groove.
She is so adorable.
Great Song... And Sophie Ellis-Bextor is a real Babe :)
Sophie also did a great job of entertaining everyone during the corona virus lock down...
She’s a vampire Never get old
Esta mujer esta detenida en el tiempo! Hermosa y talentosa!
she is fit still
Sophie just gets better with age. I love her. So modest and talented and beautiful.
I never had heard of this song before the movie, and am so glad the movie brought it to light -- otherwise I'd never know it even existed!
What a beauty. Talented too.
Not her tryna keep a straight face when she was talking about saltburn RIPPP

Omg she seems so sweet
A most unassuming lady with a lovely voice. A fine example hopefully to some of the recent and current me me products.
Can’t believe it’s been 20 yrs. since this dropped. Fck I’m getting old 😂
"Be open to the unexpected" 👏
She's beautiful 😊❤ i had crush by her back in 2001
What a legend
Ha! I remember doing the the elyptical at the gym in both London and Cape Town in like 2002 and that thing blasting day and night lol
She looks the same! Wow.
She's ageless, five kids later and still sounds amazing

Emerald Fennel have so much taste in everything , the score of her movies are awesome . i am a Fan since Promising Young Woman.
When this song was released around 2001/02, pretty much every guy I knew had a crush on Sophie
I adore her
her songs are genius
I loveeeeee this Song so much !!!

I was 12 when that song was very popular!!
That woman doesn't age! great body for someone who had 5 kids

She's a big Pulp fan so she's alright in my book
I don't remember this coming out but God I love the song.

Wow, Sophie is still hot all these years later.

What a beautiful woman! I heard she has 5 sons.
Sophie ist wieder dabei!!😊
I've always loved the song 😊
Her name is Sophie ellis bextor
Not "Murder on the Dancefloor singer" 😭
Her music is on high rotation in my car!
1:40 good point!

Good movie, good music
The best thing about Saltburn is the fact this song blew up again because of it
Madness
Remember when Robbie Williams said she had a face like a satellite dish?
I think she declined his advances and he got bitter 😁
He said Cameron Diaz looked liked zippy from the muppets! 😂😂 Same reason me thinks!
And he looks like Morrissey these days lol
It means that Sophie is as good and as talented and no A.I. or no aliens can make better"Murder in the dance floor".
They need to add this to the GTA6 radio station
