- Leoni, a mother of three from Northamptonshire, took the leap last year to change her career and signed up to train as a plant operator on HS2.
After only two weeks of free training, she gained an industry-recognised license to drive articulated dumper trucks and later became the first woman in the UK to be qualified to drive a 'grader' - a 25-tonne machine with a long blade underneath used to create a level surface.

Well done Leoni. Just do what your heart tells you to do. Respect!
Awesome job Leoni. I love this story. It's great to see so many more women going into construction.
Proof that if you put your mind to it you can achieve. 🤓
Humanity at its best.
Well done leoni amazing story, good luck for the future 🎉🎉🎉
Excellent, just goes to show that HS2 is providing benefits now, before it has even opened.
What a great story. We need more women in construction. I don't know why we don't. The more role models the better.
Great job, Leoni. What comes after grading local sites on this great step change in low carbon infrastructure for the UK?
I’m hoping my son gets on to this program, he has applied but not Hurd anything back yet.. how long does it take to get chosen or get a response
It's all about who you know in the system, it's advertised for everybody but it ain't accessible to everybody if you know what i mean
@@slvs91 yes it does seem that if you no some in this program it’s easier to get in, my son hasn’t had no response back at all.
It’s up frustrating for kids to get on programs where there not accessible
Sorry I’m late
You guessed it another glorious video to mask the real truth of a gravy train to apocalypse a train to no where till the end of the world save anyone asking
Big no from me
Don't you have to have a C class license to even consider driving these? 2 weeks training seems a bit short.
No you don't need a class C licence for these. You do need a C+E for the ag tractors though.
@@timstarkey-smith8842 cheers mate...
@chrishardy3473 no problem. The job pays quite well, I ve got a couple of mates driving tractors with trailers &/ or browsers.
@@timstarkey-smith8842 thanks man... currently doing my class 2, so always looking for potential career progression.
