You are awesome! I don’t think many people would have thought to take the time to fix the music box, or even know how. Leave it to Sophia to show the world that something’s aren’t that difficult if you want it fixed. Thanks Sophia!
you amaze me with all the things you are willing to jump into and try to fix, remodel or create. I read.....and read.....and eat and then read somemore. Your level of energy wears me out but I love watching you tackle new things. I wish I was your neighbor.
Thank you. My childhood music box was stuck, too. Even if the problem was different, seeing you helped me understand some of the mechanisms and solve the problem.
My husband gave me a jewelry box with a music box when I was 15. I am now 65 and it has been overwound for decades. I also have my son Jack’s favorite childhood stuffed bear with an overwound music box to repair. We lost our son two years ago and it would be so nice to be able to repair that. My grandmother gave me a music box that sat on her dresser again, overwound. I look forward to playing them all again thanks to you! Your talent is endless...thank you so much! I will let you know if I’m successful!
Thank you for fixing it and showing us how! As I was watching I was thinking what a great faith illustration that is. If not used and taken care of it becomes rusty and stuck.
Wow...very impressive! I was completely mesmerized watching you repair that beautiful music box.❤❤ Now I just need to find one to fix. 😄 Thank you for the lesson and for all your inspiring videos! 😘
Thank you for that I have 2 music boxes that need fixed one was my mum's, great now I know how to fix them although they haven't worked for years, thank you sooo much for showing that Sophia 😊👍
Thank you! All I need is clock oil and I will try to repair my music box that has not worked for YEARS! I once said to my Dad that I loved music boxes, so he got me one for Christmas every year for a long time. I've kept a couple, and the first one he gave me is very nice - and special. Thanks again for this video!
Sophia I love all your videos. Whether or not you know how to repair or build something ,by the time you finish you know how, brilliantly! You are fearless! I am so proud of you.Wishing I could be more like that!
Fantastic do you fix real clocks too? I was given an old clock that you have to wind 2 key holes with the key one of the springs is wound tight or should I say sprung want to have it fixed. I just love real clocks not battery operated. I love your grandfather clock wish I could send you a picture of the clock I'm talking about
Wonderful job, Sophia! I have an inexpensive musical jewelry box I was given as a child (about 70 years ago!) which no longer plays. I'll have to see if I can gain access to the moving parts.
Love these type of videos where you teach us how to save vintage pieces! Some times it's so easy to bring new life back into an item where someone else called it broken and threw it away.
Oh what a beautiful repair video! ;) I love music boxes! I read in our local paper recently that a neighboring town had set up a Repair Cafe. it's run by volunteers with varying areas of expertise, and people bring in their broken items to hopefully get repaired! It's just such a good idea, and nice contrast to our throw-away society. :)
That's what I love about repairing and servicing sewing machines! Especially the mechanical ones! You always learn something new! Thanks for sharing Sophia! 😁💐💜(sometimes a little dab of oil works wonders for those music boxes they dry out after awhile of no use and just sitting)
I love the song "Oh what a beautiful mornin' " by Gordon MacRae from the musical film "Oklahoma!" I watched that movie and learned all the songs as a child.
@@karenswidzinski6071 Ditto for: Sound of Music, Carousel, South Pacific, Music Man, and others I've lost track of within short-term memory [because it's been decades since I've recalled the names of the movies].
OMGoodness Sophia! I just felt my IQ jump 20 points! You are amazing! I am going to start looking at things that are broken in my house and say "what would Sophia do?"! I LOVE you! Thank you for all you do! I can't wait to see what else is in that pretty little head of yours! God Bless!
Most people call me 'Karyn', but if you want to call me 'Buddy', that's OK! LOL> I don't know when I ever turned my volume up to 90s so fast! It is pretty quiet at first, is the song 'Oh, What a Beautiful Morning?' 'Oh, What a Beautiful Day?' This looks like the brush and oil similar to the sewing machine kit? Oh, I see 'clock oil'. I have a bride from my wedding keepsake that's a music box. She always has been working fine, but the Fear of the 'OverWind!' is Real from since I was little. When I see a lovely broken music box at Goodwill, You know I'm bringing it Home with Me for the Challenge! It's so lovely Sophia. I like All the Birds you display.
Well, I didn’t ask, but have several that need repairs! I am excited to try it. Right now I am on a rag doll mending operation... I put it off long enough. So music boxes will be next and I will let you know how it goes!
another great video Mrs. Sophia... You make everything look so easy... Is there nothing you can't do? May God continue to bless and keep you and your sweet family..
Thank you ever so much for your video I bought a music box it's a wooden music box with a wooden horse and a little wooden girl riding the horse at the flea market yesterday. I was not looking for a music box. It kind of talk to me it was in a box with a bunch of other stuff and I kept hearing this little noise and what it was was the music box trying to play. It really really needed oil. So I saved it I brought it home and I found a lovely spider and a nest inside of it so I killed that LOL and watch your video and fix my music box thank you
If you want ideas Sophia, I’m happy to provide one. FIXING THINGS. I love this video, sounds strange I suppose but I found it so relaxing and could watch you fix anything and like it!
Thank you for sharing this. I have a very old music box that was my Mom's that quit working. I will give it a good oiling and follow your techniques. Thanks again. Love all your videos.
You are amazing. Making things that seem complicated or difficult easy if you try! You now have a beautiful music box for a little oil and a few minutes of your time! Are you going to keep the box? It goes so nicely with your other birds.
Hey when you’re good you’re good and you Sophia are soooo GOOD!!! I have a feeling there’s nothing you can’t do. You are amazing. 🌻🧚♀️🌻 Btw what song is that playing?
2 Questions No.1: Did you know you cant' search for 'towle' on ebay? It substitutes 'towel'. Ack. Although I see some other bird theme music boxes, they aren't as lovely. No. 2: Does this repair work on other music box items like a doll or child's plastic toy that's overwound too? I guess they are different to open up. TY!
You are awesome! I don’t think many people would have thought to take the time to fix the music box, or even know how. Leave it to Sophia to show the world that something’s aren’t that difficult if you want it fixed. Thanks Sophia!
I just don't know how you know how to do so many things. You're a very smart woman.

Mechanisms are the same.
My word! How did you learn how to fix?
If it's stuck and it should move...wd40 or oil. If it moves and it should not...duct tape!
Good job. It helps me a lot!
