Great video Amboy well done I purchased this from Martyn lynch and Sons without the SM5000 love it going to get the SM5000 shortly as I have seen great reviews of the stereo speakers on it,I use a Heil PR-781 microphone with this awesome radio look forward to working you sometime best 73 de G0UDG

i really t know w stopped making the ftdx 5000 very nice radio why didn’t they update make even better than it is as soon as i can save up money i try to find one to buy such beautiful radio to look at all buttons nods i love
Amboy, This is a great explanation of the 5000. If you still have the rig, it would be nice to get some sort of a review on the sub receiver. As many have claimed it is not up to par with the primary receiver. I’d love to see how that works too. You did a great job on this video thank you so much my friend!
hello ive had no problem with the display on my ftdx5000. however with the sm5000 i had to return it due to a problem with the lcd display but luckily it was within the warranty period and yaesu philippines replaced it.
please i need the opinion to help me decide which microphone i am in doubt to buy the HEIL PR 781 or M1 Yaesu ??? to use on ftdx 5000 ... what can you tell me about it ?? 73
PU2XBT hello I dont have experience using the heil microphone. What I can tell you however is that though the m-1 is quite pricy it’s worth it. The dual microphone element captures your voice nicely. I’ve got nothing but good compliment from my audio transmit voice. I recommend the m-1 highly
The 5000....cones with a nice EQ already built in. I'd direct connect the 781 or PR40 as I have and use the BW and EQ settings already in the radio. 700 for the M1 is s lot of money. You won't need to EQs.
The Heil PR-781 works very well with the 5000. It is a better match than the PR-40. You must use the parametric EQ in the radio to cut lows and add highs.
