Bhagat Puran Singh was a real hero. He was born in British India and he settled up a charity named 'pingalwara' for handicappeds and poor people. But he wasn't noticed much, he didn't get much help. He never forced anyone to converting the way M. Teresa did. True legends go unnoticed several times because they are less show off and more practical.
@@TerxdAnims I meant to say that in this world many real legends go unnoticed, live in miserable conditions, die in poverty. Whereas many fake people live luxuriously under the mask of charity the way Mother Teresa did. The person I mentioned was just an example.

Exorcisms are actually very common and don't usually look like the movies. When a priest blesses holy water, it's an exorcism; minor exorcisms are used during regular baptisms.

@@queenleo5578 They can be incredibly scary though. I’ve seen countless of videos of women getting exorcised, who then all of a sudden talk in an unnaturally, disgusting growly voice and scream, laugh, cry all in this strange demonic voice. They’ll usually have to be held down or they’ll try to attack. I don’t recommend watching them, it’s grueling and even though it’s years later, I haven’t been able to forget about it or pass it off as fake since I’m usually skeptical of such things

Here's a summary of how Catholic missionaries work.

Take this plate , Samuel.
But , I'm Ram .
U were.
Yeah she should have used the money to hire doctors, she had jesus complex or something. And she was merely an idol for heavily devouted catholics who had doubts to their belief.
You must be kidding and blind to the fact that she worked with the poor in person. It's easy to critique, perhaps you want to give helping the poor a shot?.
I live in Calcutta, the workplace of Mother Teresa. The charitable work done by her is undeniable but one thing can't be ignored. Mother Teresa had received large sums of money in donation from rich people worldwide but the condition of the medical facilities provided by the Missionaries of Charity proves that nothing much from that money has been spent in improvement of services & no allegations of financial irregularities have arised . So it is alleged that most of the money received by her for philanthropic purposes would end up in the coffers of the Vatican to be utilised in maintenance of churches & promoting missionary activities.
Edit: I have seen myself the leprosy centre run by the MoC at Titagarh. It didn't look like a hospital but more or less resembled an urban slum encroaching over railway property. It was even situated near a dumping yard & the isolation rooms were situated very close to the railway lines where trains travel daily.
Her charity work seems more for show just like those celebrities who do it more for publicity rather than out of the kindness of their hearts.

You can't just disregard criticism because "this person doesn't help the poor." The criticism of Teresa is very well documented by several sources, not just Hitchens.
All with the same talking point and same criticism that isn’t verified by anything more than hot air.
Also they whole nuns reusing needles and saying the people in hospices don't need clean water because they're dying anyway is oversimplified here and that in itself also deserves criticism.

I don't know where you got the idea that Hitchens ever took anything out of context, given that in his writings he went all the way to provide the context to every idea he was objecting too. His intellectual honesty was striking not only in writing but in speech as well as he correctly applied Occam's Razor, Hitchen's Razor, Sagan's razor and demonstrated a solid grasp of David Hume and George Orwell. He went after faith and religious fanatics because he identified in their mentality the very basis for fascism and totalitarianism. As a Loretoite and a bengali her name is pretty household and our school was literally elated to hear that she was granted sainthood. Even though i have been schooled in a missionary all-girls school since i was 3 , i turned out to be an atheist. Certainly no one imposed christinaty on us directly, our catholic classmates were treated differently, better. It made a huge difference in the fees we paid too. Most school fests were out of reach for us since we were "not catholic" but at the same time in a secular country such as ours (India) this seems absurd. I changed schools for my last two years of schooling coz our school had till 10th. Even though i have been to my new school just once due to the pandemic I saw the huge difference not only coz it was co-ed but the "discipline" stuff we were taught in Loreto was absolutely bs.We had a soft spot for her but meh sainthood? she got to go to a real hospital and receive real medicine, unlike the people that she was preoccupied with converting. They were given thoughts and prayers instead of morphine. Gandhi was criticized for the same thing, He denounced lifesaving or life improving pharmaceuticals for others, but when it came to his own health, he had no qualms about taking heart medicine
I was forced to go to a catholic school for a few years and i hated it. Even tho i was only in grade 3/8yrs old at the time- i always knew them collecting donations everyday especially during church for "the poor" was a big scam. 1 year after i left that school, they built a new one and a new church attached to it alll grand, marble and gold plated with fancy statues of expensive stone

She was truly a saint she used poverty to convert and despite having massive donations the condition of her care centers were horrible.
Thank you for mentioning Hitchens.......Teresa was not as a great as everyone made her out to be. Hitchens may have liked to argue yes, but he never claimed to be a saint. His job was to expose mistreatment and corruption of people from all institutions, religion or otherwise.
Yeah I rolled my eyes when the video said "take his words with a huge grain of salt" because he wasn't a social worker. So what? What has that got to do with the truth of his words?
I laughed because had Hitchens still been here he would have just laughed. Long live the seeker of argument 🙏🏻♥️
@@CrimsonMagick yeah that felt very biased tbh.
@@CrimsonMagick it makes sense to me. It means that Hitchens did not have the well-being of the poor in mind in his arguments, but rather in tearing a person down, namely MT or in some cases an entire religion. Knowing someone’s objective when presenting arguments makes one wary of what biases one may have. For example, he could be downplaying some facts and emphasizing others in order to suit his narrative. That’s why it would make sense to “take his word with a grain of salt”
@@numbers93 just because Hitchens was not a social worker does not mean that he did not care about the sick and the poor, nor that his argument was flawed.

Yes, she was evil and I think people were just brainwashed into thinking she was a saint. I thought she was for a long time too until I recently learned the truth. Gosh was she a despicable person!
You're missing the point about Hitchens. He may not have visited the sick and poor (in fact he did, as a journalist, going to some of the most dangerous warzones at that time) regularly. He doesn't have to as he's not the one everyone is saying is a Saint.
Exactly!
I have no stake in this story, she was a flawed human being who did what she thought was right by trying to help people that no one else cared for. With her, people who were considered untouchable by their society were cared for. Hitchens on the other hand has never built anyone up, but dedicated his life to trying to destroy people's beliefs. Something that he couldn't know he was right about, in the same way she couldn't know if she was right. The difference, her belief moved her to try and help those who were hurting, and he tried to pass on the emptiness that his arrogance couldn't completely hide, and alcohol couldn't completely numb.
He isn't someone to put on a pedestal, and neither is she. But this is like comparing someone who helps other people to the Kardashians. If she just helped one person she's better than him.
@@vonbass1300 She firmly believed that suffering brought people closer to god. Because of that she neglected her patients, denying them appropriate medication to ensure they suffered. She tortured people by denying them adequate care. She was a monster.
I'd assume you haven't really read anything about her and go on the assumption that "the Church say she's a saint, so... y'know?". And no-one could the church of doing anything heinous: organised paedophilia, the Inquisition, the Holocaust. Nah, they're great judges of character, them.

I think it's better to treat mother Teresa like a person instead of an all-good angel. While she did help the people of India it was also clear that she cared more about increasing the Catholic Church's reputation and funding. Not to mention she had controversial practices like refusing to give treatment to near-death patients since she thought suffering brings you closer to God. I also find it hypocritical that she had high quality care at a good hospital in her deathbed.
She isn't an evil person but she's not an angel from heaven either. I'm glad she doesn't use fund money to sell drugs of buy luxury but she also didn't use the money to better the state of her orphanages and hospitals. In other words, she's just another human being like you and me with positives and negatives.
I am also a Bengali and it is well known that she did everything for an agenda
i sat her for the first 5 mins of the vid thinking we’re talking about mother nature & mother gothel
"How could a saint be possessed by the devil?" Well technically, she wasn't a saint at the time. No living person is officiated as a saint. People **called** her "a living saint", but the church doesn't even consider sainthood until 5 years after death, minimum, and in her case it was something like 20 years after. So no, the devil didn't possess a saint.
Doing the best you can do. With the best you have. There will always be a balance, controlled by God.
My dad actually met mother Theresa he was also a missionary
Well, its not an achievement, but a matter of Shame for your Dad.
I am from Bengal. She ain't a saint at all as she did look after the poor but at the cost of conversions like Gopal became Gabriel
She was a missionary who came to covert people
Instead of helping in real life
If they were converted, that is a great thing.
@@matta5498 why dont you convert too?

"Even the kindest person on Earth is a villain in someone's story"
A quote, I've found somewhere. Not exactly the same words but the main idea is there.
Because, people can be Kind but not kindest it simply don't make any sense. Remember one thing we are not living in an Eutopian world.
If someone is extremely good to you without a reason, just to help in your suffering, keep in they must have a hidden motive.
@@ineedpowers5151 In fact, the idea behind the quote is that sometimes you do or say things to people without thinking you're hurting them. Misinterpretations... Or you try to make the best decision for everyone but it doesn't please them. You're helping but your way of helping is not good for that person. Or just by refusing helping, not because you're mean but because you can't.
Try to think about all the times people around you may have considered you as a bad/mean person because of something you said, you did or didn't do.
In this, Mother Teresa, was dedicated to the poors, she was a hero for a lot of them. But maybe her way to help wasn't satisfying to others who would have need more than what she could offer. And for those persons, she wasn't that good.
That's what my quote means.
She is not the "Kindest" person and she is DEFINITELY a villain. So, don't back her even after she is exposed🙏
@@Anonymous-yr1hv It was a general statement, not specifically aimed at her.
In this day and age - devoting ones life to helping the poor in india, or elsewhere, is already worthy of sainthood.
you couldn't imagine the horrors she saw an abyss of poverty
That she perpetuated instead of doing anything to end it

noun
1. a person who has an intense dislike for another person or thing (often used in combination):
2. a person who thrives on showing hate toward, criticizing, or belittling other people or things, usually unfairly:
She helped so many to reach the heaven
by letting them die
I mean when you put it like that-
Great job Theresa
She basically converted people using their given their vulnerable situation
She took care of the dying and Hitchens did not do anything for them, just like the critics on this comment section.
Except she didn't do anything for them, she denied them their faith and for that she was made a saint, she is nothing but evil. Doing "nothing" is a far better option than allowing people to die because they are Hindu or Muslim. The critics who do "nothing" are the ones who are more inclined to study, fund, and actually fight disease than faith ever could.
I live in Calcutta now known as Kolkata west bengal India.....❤And our mother will always be remembered..
Her birth name was Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu. Teresa was the name she took when she became a nun.
Do take in mind that Mother Teresa was never possessed. She just had nightmares but was completely fine. I hate how this channel instills the assumption that she was possessed
She was a fraud.
Some religion it believe that when a series of bad luck, Illness, and bad thing happening were sign of demonic possession or cause by evil spirit. Demonic Possession don't necessarily appear like what we see in TV and movies.
I think it's more of an effort to consider both sides... I see your point though, I felt it was a little grating to even suggest there might be some smidgeon of vindication for the atrocities this woman was responsible for... All in all I think it was well done.
i think the video definitely got the point across that she was not possessed lol
@@404bidden lol I'm a big Christopher Hitchens fan... And definitely not a fan of the Catholic church... They left out quite a few details regarding mother Theresa's transgressions lol
Pretty sure I've heard in a documentary how her charity couldn't prove where she spent the money/where a lot of donation money went...
Probably had delirium which are very common in old people staying in hospital.

She wasn’t a Christian scientist. Learn.
And? She’s dead. So it’s best to not make fun of someone especially of the dead.
@@lautaroaguilar9584 Yeah, she was catholic. But this is still behavior closely linked to the christian scientist movement. So, she was kind of practicing both schools of awfulness.
umm you do know that scientists and doctors can have religion too right?
She was helping and feeding poor people but also in the exchange she forced them to convert to Christianity for food and shelter. It's like a ying-yang her motives were good and bad also. Converting people by using hunger as a tool is a kind of shameful act.
People need to watch the full documentary of the Exorcism of Annalise it’s terrifying
How come its always a demonic possession and never ever Anglic enchantment???
Probably because the human race as a whole isn't worthy of that.
cuz it is all BS
Good question lol.
its easy to believe in demons than angels. a little bit of miracle turns you into a witch on early eras.

I am from Kolkata(Calcutta), the truth is, in those time when Mother Theresa( now Saint) worked here, there were very few doctors who wanted to Visit poor peoples. Under the British Raj, White doctors rarely wanted to treat brown people, let alone poor people with TB and Leprosy, and Indian doctor were also very few. Now a Days Nirmal Sadan( Mother Theresa r Head Quarters if u can say it like that) works far better way, there r doctors who work for them, but yeah the basis of spreading Christianity is still there and a big factor.
Ig this summarises her life very well

@Helder Señoron Why not?
@Helder Señoron demon possession is real, but most cases of demon possession is false and its very rare. Those types of things were very common back then.
@Helder Señoron well for some its not that easy to get an exorcism. Some needs the exorcist to see the health record of a person claimed to be possessed before they perform the exorcism.
