After some review it’s nice im a beast on COD mobile I wouldn’t play anything online with it for remote play but I’m excited to play 2k23 while at work For the career and grind my badges while I’m getting paid
Thanks Elijah Wood, I’ve been trying to find a video that would explain this product in a straightforward fashion. I’m happy to have finally found one thank included the added potential costs after purchasing the device.
Great review. You're the only person I've seen so far who actually mentioned the fact that it does not fit with a case. I have an Apple Branded Leather case and don't want to have to take it on and off everytime I want to play. I picked up the backbone one today. So far I've played about 3 hours of single player games via PS Remote play and the experience has been a lot of fun. I especially loved playing Tony Hawk and it brought me back to playing that game on my Gameboy Advance. I don't think the 100$ price point is really the mark for a product like this when I can get a new Dualsense controller(or use one I have already) and a mount for my iPhone for around 80$. I do really enjoy the PSP feel, and am going to hold onto it for another week before I decide on returning it.
This device is interesting, though I wish Sony had better supported the Vita, so it sold better and we had an actual follow up handheld Playstation on the market! Indeed it's a pity that the success of the Nintendo Switch and the Steam Deck haven't convinced Sony to actually try and release a new handheld system 😯😀🤘 ...

I think Sony’s streaming offerings are absolutely terrible compared to Microsoft’s. Don’t get me wrong I love my ps5 as much as much as next guy but having to have the ps5 on is so lame, at least with xcloud you don’t even need to own an Xbox which is great. Sony really need to step up their game

Can anybody tell me if you can play on this while away from the PS5 console?? Do you have to be on the same Wi-Fi ? I can’t find anywhere this . And what games can you play ? Thanks
Yes you can, but a decent internet connection is needed to avoid buffering issues. Any PS5 game should work and any iPhone game that has controller support.
I think the case having to be removed everytime is a deal breaker really but i love gadgets so had to order it 😅. I hope the games i play via ps remote play dont feel too different than on my ps5.
Personally I say it’s worth it 100 dollars is not bad especially because I ordered it off of Amazon and got it the next day without prime. Plus you can get Xbox cloud gaming with it. A question: can you play blizzard game for example d2r remotely on iPhone with backbone? I am looking for a mobile device for up coming Diablo 4. Sadly d4 is not likely getting on switch
The thing I don't like about remote play is that the console needs to be set into rest mode and when you activate the remote play feature the console turns on and everything you do can be watched if someone turns on your TV the last thing I don't like is what if you get a black out while your away and playing remote play Edited and removed one thing since there multiple things of why I don't really like remote play

So I'm all set but I can't play any games. I was thinking that I don't need to turn my system on and leave it running low in order to adapt and play but everything is one I see all my games
The subscription is just for their app, which I have not been using anyway. You can still use the controller for RemotePlay and every other use without the Backbone app.
Will it be able to play final fantasy XIV? That's my real question since it's one of the top MMORPG's I would love to see the game play on that with a mobile device..

I won't be getting one of these sadly. I use tablets not phones as games works better on tablets and blue tooth controllers but I've never seen you do these kind of review videos
So i'm not sure i understad this, do i need my phone to be conected to ps5 in order to play ps5 games?? I'm just not sure what is the main point of this product??
So, do I have to be near my ps5, pc or Xbox near me to play? I’m an over the road truck driver and would love to have something like this if I don’t have to bring my pc, XBOX or ps5 with me…
I purchased FF9 from the App store and I'm using the Backbone to play the game on my iPhone and I'm having the double input issue. Not sure if anyone else is having this as well.
Can you play your ps5 whilst be away from your house and not having your console with you? And can you play using your mobile data if there’s no Wi-Fi access?
Looking at this cuz for some reason, I can connect my Dualsense PS5 controller to my phone for Remote Play but it doesn't actually WORK... -_- so I need ANOTHER controller. Pretty lame
I usually spend all day at work with nothing to do literally and ive been thinking of either bringing my spare controller to work to use on my phone i doubt they would be okay with me playing on the 2nd computer on the front counter even tho the pc isnt used for anything.
Your PS5 is going to be the hub and the remote play functionality is streamed to your mobile device via the PS remote play app. Once you configure your PlayStation with your mobile phone for remote play, all you need to do is plug in the back bone, connect via PS remote app, and you’re good to go. My best suggestion is to test out whether or not your connection is capable of streaming remotely first. Download the Ps remote play app and connect and see how stable your connection is. Best if your console is hard wired for the best upload speeds. And when you’re connected via mobile, you have the option of using your data or using Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi will provide the best stability, of course that’s highly dependent on the Wi-Fi you’re connecting to.
@@kingkunta8927 - the backbone needs the PS5 to stream to your phone. Your PS5 broadcasts to your phone. It can’t broadcast if there’s no power. If there’s no power, your router/modem would be offline as well. Your console needs your network to stream to your mobile device.
Does the remote play app still have to be in range of the ps5 in order for it to work? Or no. I’m asking because I can’t take my ps5 to Ohio for thanksgiving and I want to play CODMWII with my buddies
It does work best if both PS5 and phone are connected to the same network. However, you can connect to Remote Play over the internet from anywhere in the world. Make sure your PS5 is kept in Rest Mode when not in use and the Remote Play app can wake it up over the internet when needed.
My main problem is the size. I have small hands as well but this just looks too small and makes it seem a bit like the Switch Lite which I use often. I have to use a Satisfye grip with my Switch Lite. Otherwise it's just too uncomfortable. I wouldn't spend $100 on this.
I'm not taking my case off every time i need to put this thing on that would hurt the case and the phone thats everyday multiple times a day doing that and the camera bump on iphone 14 pro is huge compared to the 13 pro this needs a total redesign for cases and the iphone 14 pro and pro max
All you need to do to fit a (reasonable) sized case is remove the adhesive pad underneath the lightning/USB C port and the other two pads that sit beneath the phone with a sharp object like a flathead screwdriver. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works. I am not sure if it will work with the newer giant iPhones, but I've seen it work for most medium-large sized Android phones with reasonable sized cases.
How can I get my PlayStation to play on my phone without it needing the PlayStation controller app I want to use just the PlayStation without using the PlayStation itself but be able to do it on my phone with knowing my password and everything else so essentially turning my phone into the PlayStation

If i dont own a ps5 could i still buy a ps5 game for my phone
im wanting to play that ratchet and clank rift apart game so im asking
No you can’t it basically just streams the game from your ps5 to your phone, your phone is just the screen but the ps5 is doing all the work
I won't be getting one of these sadly. I use tablets not phones as games works better on tablets and blue tooth controllers but I've never seen you do these kind of review videos
I do from time to time but not often :)

You forgot to show that you can connect to a mac or pc or other screen and play without a phone! I love mine.
So is it unplayable then?
@@richielovin91 without the backbone it works fine using touchscreen
Do you think this will work for the new modern warfare?
Can you play your ps5 whilst be away from your house and not having your console with you? And can you play using your mobile data if there’s no Wi-Fi access?
Looking at this cuz for some reason, I can connect my Dualsense PS5 controller to my phone for Remote Play but it doesn't actually WORK... -_- so I need ANOTHER controller. Pretty lame
Question!!?? Does my ps4 needs to be on when playing!! I still dont get how it works!! Sorry
So I didn’t totally watch the entire video.. but can I play while I’m really far away from my console? Like different city’s?
Can you pick up where u left off from tv to transfer to phone … for example I have a story mode on 2k23 can I play that on here
I usually spend all day at work with nothing to do literally and ive been thinking of either bringing my spare controller to work to use on my phone i doubt they would be okay with me playing on the 2nd computer on the front counter even tho the pc isnt used for anything.
I’m just confused. Can I play my ps5 games at work without taking the console? Does the ps5 has to be on for me to play the games?
Yes to both questions.
After pairing to my playstation 5, can i use the backbone even when there is no electricity and play station turned off?
@@kingkunta8927 - the backbone needs the PS5 to stream to your phone.
Your PS5 broadcasts to your phone. It can’t broadcast if there’s no power.
If there’s no power, your router/modem would be offline as well. Your console needs your network to stream to your mobile device.
how do you skip backbone scription?
Does this connect to the X box consoles also for remote play or just game pass?
Or wait for iPhone 15 pro when USB type C will be available.
Can I play and chat with my ps5 friends while playing it? Or is it just solo
Why can't we just say "phone"...I don't understand why Apple fanboys insist on saying "iPhone"
Can I play MW2 on it?? Like like.. physically, would it feel good or nah??? Or can you even play that game on the backbone?
Is fc 24 not compatible on the backbone?
This shouldn’t be allowed for Sony always copies what Microsoft invents
So it comes with games on it?
Will there a backbone one playstation for Samsung phones too?
So does it work with ps4 ? And does it work at work ? So i need my playstation around me in order to use it
How can I get my PlayStation to play on my phone without it needing the PlayStation controller app I want to use just the PlayStation without using the PlayStation itself but be able to do it on my phone with knowing my password and everything else so essentially turning my phone into the PlayStation
whats the difference when use just a third party android controller
Or can do the same thing with laptop and ps5 controller
Are you able to to play PlayStation games if you no longer own a PlayStation?
Does the back bone work with the ps4?
Does the PlayStation have to be on to use the remote play?
