About SIREN:
“Siren” takes us inside Bristol Cove-a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. The series stars Alex Roe (“The 5th Wave”) as Ben, a bright marine biologist who finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl in town, Ryn, played by Eline Powell (“Game of Thrones”), who is a strange young woman with a deep dark secret. Fola Evans-Akingbola (“An American Exorcism”) stars as Maddie, also a marine biologist who works with Ben, and is highly suspicious of Ryn. Ian Verdun (“Life’s a Drag”) stars as Xander, a deep sea fisherman on a quest to uncover the truth; and Rena Owen (“Star Wars” Episodes II and III) as Helen, the town eccentric who seems to know more about the mermaids than she lets on. Based on a story by Eric Wald and Dean White who both serve as executive produces. Emily Whitesell (“Finding Carter”) is on board as Showrunner and Executive Producer. Brad Luff, Nate Hopper and RD Robb are also attached as executive producers.

I love the sience approuch to mermaid/supernatural here. It deffinetly Can be studied, but im almost positive that it wont be by them, sinc they dont have the technology required. Love the show

I found this a very interesting scene, well the scene after this one. Maddie put headphones on but I'm pretty positive it did not (fully) stop the song. Maddie watched the monitor to see when Ryn started. She noticd the machine was recording stuff and then turned back to Ryn. But then, then somehting happened.. The way Maddie stared at Ryn and the way they touched hands and entingled fingers. That was because the song, or part of it, still was heard or better yet, felt by Maddie. She was too mezmorized to think otherwise to me.. Also when Ryn stopped, Maddies glazed eyes snapped back, as if she was in a trance.. Great, now Ryn has two humans crazy about her song xD I am very curious what effect the song has on female humans..
agreed! Just look at her reaction, the noise-cancelling headphones clearly didn't work and everyone is missing this detail thinking it's now gonna be a big disney love story where everyone lives happily ever after instead of the suspense / action / thriller / horror story about sirens. The song would affect females the same, she said the song comes when she sings to "human." not males only. Another thing for you to notice is, Eliza touched rick's face after helen had him do that to change his demeanor. Clearly, the siren hand touch has its own power as well in a lesser form. Look at how maddie's mother looked like she was in a loving daze/trance when ryn touched her face.
Sorry but I'm far from convinced that the song is the only thing tethering Ben to Ryn I think there's something more there.
John Palermo I agree! I definitely feel chemistry between them as well. Ryn is absolutely stunning. I’m Female and I can’t help but admire how beautiful she is.
The song is affecting Ben. But he also does have real feelings for Ryn
Exactly, I remember the 1st episode when she sang to him, out of nowhere, she did not feel threatened, so I believe there is more to it. Besides I am really curious to see about the story of the man that fell in love with a mermaid and had a child.
@@NinasVideoss I think that with what we know now from what Ryn said, that the song only comes when she's singing to "human", the song is a mating call, connecting the siren singing it (in this case Ryn) to her intended mate (Ben). That would Perfectly explain why Ryn naturally out of the blue song that song to Ben when she wasn't even scared.

Ok, but why don’t they have the idea of doing what Odysseus did in The Odyssey when they went through the sirens? The crew members put beeswax into their ears to not hear the song. Maybe one of them could have put ear plugs in.
