As someone with thick, wavy hair who has had almost no hope of getting his own pompadour, this is very encouraging. Very informative video, and I'll definately take this into consideration.
Bro - you had me for 7 minutes talking about a 75 year old Hair do… you’re a good speaker. Take that talent to the world and spread positive vibes #forwhatit’sworth
Recently subscribed and from what I have just seen in this video I am glad I did,you are a pomp wizard straight from grease.keep up the good work Cameron!
i wear hats regularly outdoors and switched from gel to pomade because gel isnt really conducive to a hat. i just switched off from murrays after 6 years (nothing else holds my eraserhead hair down). do you notice any issue with wearing a hat with this (if you wear hats at all) ?
Hey cameron do u blow dry prior? Or straight just water on hair. awesome hairstyle! Def gonna be trying out some light pomades soon. Not a fan of the heavy ones personally
Best part about this video was when you were talking about working around your cowlicks! I have that problem more so because my hair is a little too short being only just pass my eyes! I know when it gets longer it will be easier to work around them! Maybe make a video just in that topic alone also my natural part becomes a problem because it's high up and I don't part my hair anyways and it splits a lot
No product placement He didnt showed or told us the Name of his Pomade. I really like this Video, its like a video in the dark and deep areas of the Internet without any advertisement. Dont know if he is using youtube ads but in the video itself i couldnt see anything. Thumbs up
+Kris Slayton James has always told the viewers that he is always honest in his reviews. He has gone out and said that he does the opposite and even explained the marketing of those big name products.
+Kris Slayton Do not be misled because of one mishap. There's other videos where he states negative things about the product that are still up, even disses on his written reviews are there. But that aside, the products he gives the ok to are actually pretty effective as he claims. He even has his own shop now at his site that selects the very best and most widely used by his audience at very cheap prices. There's no shipping cost, and the price is just slightly higher than normal to deal with that, but the prices are better for single purchases this way. And you know why the shop exists? It's just a side hobby for him. This pomade game of his is just a side gig. He is a grad of Standford and has a brighter future elsewhere. Therefore, he doesn't have reason to support every brewer out there as if his livelihood depended on it.
And yet you provide no proof. Just opinion. I'll leave you to live under that rock. I'm done here. But for me, Cam and Pomp are at the same level. It's just that Cam doesn't do that dumb lingo thing that Pomp does. So I do prefer Cam.
Hey Cameron hope you still reply. You haven't made a video in a while. My question is I have always used heavy now went with mediums. So far my favorites are o'douds original and guilty ace. I want to try lights but was wondering which one do you think is the best to start off with I don't care much about price worries more about quality. My hair is about 3.5 inches should I wait until it's longer to even attempt it with lights? I'm able to get a decent one with mediums and with goon grease as well thank you for your response.
He is in Africa and won't be back until 2017, but I say you should try out a light. If I were you I would get either Odoud's Light or Lockharts light. hope this helps.
Yo this trippy from the beginning of video before the pomade was applied I could tell you have the same exact hair I do with the same exact problems and cowlick. And yes heavy oil based pomade usually are the worse for my hair it becomes to wavy and after 10 mins of combing it's falling all over the place.
That's interesting. I've always thought heavy hold oil based pomade helps to tame the waves. I'm currently using Iron Society Firm Hold, works best for me. O'Douds original hold couldn't last half a day before my hair gets messed. Lockhart's medium hold seems to work more of medium-light hold, and it enhances the curls in my hair
I have a wavy hair and it always takes time for me to style it it just goes nuts after the pomade settles down lol didn't know how to style it right till now this is really helpful man.. thanks for this vid hoping for more styling tips and reviews to come happy holidays brother!
I was considering going for the elephant trunk look. I have a lot of hair but it is fine so it falls lank all the time. what is the best pomade for the elephant trunk style and my type of hair?
Wetting my hair works for me as well. It also holds better. When i put product on dry hair, it goes all over the place and flyaways are everywhere... yuck! My hair is long by the way.
Have you tried Beyond the Zone Retro Vinyl Pomade? That stuff is too light to me, but I also don't have experience using lights honestly. But it seems to have no control and my waves go crazy if I use that stuff lol
How do i use an afro pic , i have very straight hair i have one but never used it yet and my hair doesn't go onto a swirl how do i go abouts using an afro pick ???
I even use a light pomade such as Blue Magic. Before I used this pomade to make me a pompadour but as soon as it was hot and there was sun (summer sunshine) my cup fell and my hair was no longer held and were impossible to brush my hairs agains without having to wet it again ... I was forced to buy hard pomades such as Murray's or Daxe (the one in red pot) but it was too heavy for my hair that did not last But the reason why I stopped making a pompadour is that I wanted a more cut in style 50'S inspired RNB singer because I dressed more 50'S than in the Rocker style Otherwise superb chain. Continue accordingly. Sorry if my English is bad, Google translation
+SMOKEY428 Unfortunately it won't be until 2017 that Cameron can answer back. He's gone on a religious mission to another country for awhile. The video about this was posted about 6 months ago or so, and he mentioned he'll be gone for 2 years. But that aside, there's another reviewer with wavy hair that I've found known as Michael and his channel is "Spruce & Sharp". Maybe he can help you.
hi ! what can you recommend for my hair...you can see i have grey/silver hair...i want a pomade with great shine and medium to strong hold...sorry for my bad english, i am from Norway ;-)
I'm not especially experienced but I've tried a few and I find the Layrite brand is pretty good for a water based or else Reuzel is nice, like I said not to experienced, but I'd recommend both :D
*What's up, man? I subbed to your channel, and now I wanna ask you: Do you know any pomade, ob or wb, that makes black hair look blacker and stronger??*
it does not matter what the color of your hair is just the thickness. like you said you have thinner hair. if I were you I would use a light or medium hold pomade.
+oskey o since you have wavy thick hair, I would also suggest Odoud's light, because it has a light medium hold. and lockharts will also still work. if you don't mind carrying a comb around you light holds will be perfect. Lockharts light is my all time favorite light hold so I recommend you go get some. You will enjoy both of those products gutanteed.
looks like your gonna go on a heist in a Tarantino film
Roberto Slama that’s honestly the best compliment you can give someone!
@B. True
Looks like he’s eating ass on the Lonely boulevard
every guy on the planet needs to watch this video because you gave a lot of insight about hair in this video.
You seems to be super positive guy. All the best !

I honestly have respect for all the different hair community's there are. It's good to not see everybody being the same

I don't even use pomade but he's nice to listen too
billy DeVoe Any relation to Clifford Devoe
why does this guy look like he should have been born in the 1940's?
He uses axle greese in his hair. That's why he looks like he was born in the 1940's.
Its the decor
John Chiba chill... he want even trying to be criticize him.
Definitely deserve more subs.
I just realized u look like a typical news anchor here lol keep up the good work man!
After making this video, how long does your hair stays like that? I'm curious because it's a light pomade
Oh wow! You have a huge amount of hair! I've watched your other videos and love how you style it.
Best advice for stylizing a Pompadour ever you must go with the flow of your own hair!
Recently subscribed and from what I have just seen in this video I am glad I did,you are a pomp wizard straight from grease.keep up the good work Cameron!
Thanks man, my hairs almost identical to yours when it's not done, didn't realise I had to make it wet before applying pomade, thanks mate!
Awesome hair and explaining man! We miss you hope Africa is going great
+American Ninja 714 Africa?
+BigRedChester yes he's in Africa he left last year and said he was gonna be there for 2 years.
What are some key differences between shear revivals elm street and Lockhart light I am really interested
Lockharts light is stickier elm street is more waxy and less petro.
i wear hats regularly outdoors and switched from gel to pomade because gel isnt really conducive to a hat. i just switched off from murrays after 6 years (nothing else holds my eraserhead hair down). do you notice any issue with wearing a hat with this (if you wear hats at all) ?

Light and medium Pomades in my opinion work best for longer hair. Maybe wait until it's 5 inches or so.
Is regulary Royal Crown Hairdressing a pomade?
Yes it is but that one is very very light
Shit. I've been using Dax all this time with a fine comb. I've been doing it all wrong.
Gonna try your technique. See how it goes.
Yo this trippy from the beginning of video before the pomade was applied I could tell you have the same exact hair I do with the same exact problems and cowlick. what type of shear revival do you use? The water-based one or the oil-based one?
Hpw often do u need to wash your hair when you use pomade every day
I was considering going for the elephant trunk look. I have a lot of hair but it is fine so it falls lank all the time. what is the best pomade for the elephant trunk style and my type of hair?
Very well done ! Love your Video !
Plus a great Style 😃
Try Morgans Original Pomade, it is my favorite light pomade
My hair is stubborn like it goes back but barley I barely started combing it back any tips on how to keep it back and style my hair
Bro..I appreciate the videos on the differt product to buy. I bet you would make an awesome barber.
Is a high shine flexible hold a light pomade?
Wetting my hair works for me as well. It also holds better. When i put product on dry hair, it goes all over the place and flyaways are everywhere... yuck!
My hair is long by the way.
Um, how much time do you spend on your hair exactly?
End of the day, just get a medium/firm hold pommade and avoid the hassle....Build-up is a plus in my book since I have thick hair
Have you tried Beyond the Zone Retro Vinyl Pomade? That stuff is too light to me, but I also don't have experience using lights honestly. But it seems to have no control and my waves go crazy if I use that stuff lol

you said surebob hair dressing product?
Hi Cam did you draw your channel picture ps I love your videos your awesome keep it up
daniel melgoza haha no, I don't have an artistic bone in my body. It was @loloacre on Instagram :)
+Cameron A except when it comes to forming that majestic pimp
Do you just get low tapers on the sides and neck?
great videos Cameron just wanted to say thanks for all your tips
I like this guy :)
What brand of pomade would you recommend for starters wanting to get a pompadour with stubborn wavy hair that doesn't corporate ?
+SMOKEY428 Unfortunately it won't be until 2017 that Cameron can answer back. He's gone on a religious mission to another country for awhile. What haircut you get?
What pomade did you used
What’s your haircut? Like a low taper?

LOL!!!

Hope it helped!
+Cameron A It certainly did. Thank you so much.
hi ! what can you recommend for my hair...you can see i have grey/silver hair...i want a pomade with great shine and medium to strong hold...sorry for my bad english, i am from Norway ;-)
I'm not especially experienced but I've tried a few and I find the Layrite brand is pretty good for a water based or else Reuzel is nice, like I said not to experienced, but I'd recommend both :D
Thanx:-)
is it better to use pomade on dry hair or wet hair??
Wet hair
Both work it's just so much easier if you use wet or damp hair
Wet for sure, especially for heavies
nice video I am learning to style a pompadour. Thanks
*What's up, man? I subbed to your channel, and now I wanna ask you: Do you know any pomade, ob or wb, that makes black hair look blacker and stronger??*
DementedMafiaMinds murray's black beeswax bruh
Shinier and lighter pomades always make my hair look SUPER dark.
Cameron A Anything in particular that you'll recommend?? Your preferences?
+DementedMafiaMinds Morgan's Pomade is actually made to darken your hair even without the product being in.
+LeiAherne7 that doesn't make any sence
You look like Chris Penn in Reservoir Dogs - if he wore a suit and was part of the heist. lol.
pomps not dead light hold is horrible because after a while it brings in my waves but like I said light hold not normal or high
I thought brushing your hair when wet would damage it 0-0 does combing it works aswell, Cameron?
no what ?😂
pomade for curly hair?
whats the best oil based pomade for thin blonde hair
Anything that isnt dark or if it's thick voodoo brew 2, murrays, or grandads heavy or whatever it's called.
I'm a black dude with a bald head but this is interesting to see how people with hair actually style it. Lol.
Damn! Looks slick, my dawgie.
You say light pomade? Do you mean light shine or light hold.
Excellent video!
My hair has a natural wave to it. It's very difficult to do anything
My hair just wants to fall out.
Is it light pomade if it makes yor hair stiff and hard as shit after like an hour
do you use oilbased
ELDY Roy Jordy yes
Awesome bro! Still wish I could pomp. .
Hate my follicles.
My hair is very thick and curly but I've never thought of this before
Brandonthewolverine same here man! I blowdry it and I have natural pompadour hair. I just apply pomade over it and comb it
what if you have a split in the middle?
+pugsrulegaming Ikr I have the same problem
I used to have the same problem man, just takes time, do a forced side part until the center part goes away
best light pomades?
Lockhart's
AEKfootball Murrays super light
AEKfootball ROYAL CROWN POMADE! NOT THE HAIR DRESSING
In my situation heavy products work very well. I have curly hair
Hey Elvis
My hair naturally looks like i came out of a mental institute
ive watched this vid for years never noticed he doesnt use the grease in the thumbnail
Whoa dude i have the same hair like you
Thumbnail Pic looks like Dewey Cox Haha!! Great job on the Vids tho, there full of great Info.
I thought your go to was Groom & Clean? If I use product I think overall that still works best.
Light pomades dont work on me i have wavy to curly hair so medium and firm hold products work real fine
Keep your sideburns bro!
Hair Beautifull
LOL
idk why
but i like ur intro
This guy is the best man
Damn dude haha your hair is perfect!!!
But your hair literally doesn't have wave???
TheHairTech are you blind?
Perfect
find someone with blonde thin hair and do a pompadour tutorial I really need one
it does not matter what the color of your hair is just the thickness. like you said you have thinner hair. if I were you I would use a light or medium hold pomade.
Mr. blonde
You look exactly like Sean Penn from Colors
Nice
Short Video,High Quality
Your hair looks just like mine without anything in it! LIKE SHIT!
charlie sean... is that you
sheen?
Nick Simeone lmao!
Best light pomade
lockharts light or Royal Crown Pomade
+The Pompin Greaser thanks will lockharts like work on thick wavy curly hair
+oskey o your waves might start to come in after a while, and it also depends on the length of your hair, the longer the better
+The Pompin Greaser my hair is at a medium length
+oskey o since you have wavy thick hair, I would also suggest Odoud's light, because it has a light medium hold. and lockharts will also still work. if you don't mind carrying a comb around you light holds will be perfect. Lockharts light is my all time favorite light hold so I recommend you go get some. You will enjoy both of those products gutanteed.
