Wow! I just was here recently, passing through and I saw this yellow and blue locomotives and thought they were ex-Santa Fe locos. I also saw a poster in Enterprise -- where I stayed at a hotel and saw a picture and it said Eagle Cap Excursion train, and I knew what it was. Thank you so much for your video and the information along with it! I am glad to learn more about this railroad I didn't have time capture while I was visiting!
Oh wow this is from my hometown!! A guy named Ed who worked for U.P and was known for famous Railroad photography years ago, once gave me a ride and even let me have the controls at one point. He told me with a jokester passion to hit the Emergency brake once the passengers would be receiving their wine. Good times, thank you for bringing those memories back and your outstanding photography skills.
My son loves trains 🚆🛤🚋🚞🚝🚊🚉🚈🚇🚅🚄🚃🚂 and finds this tourist railroad very interesting. He also hopes that they restore the entire line to St Joseph real soon or sooner than soon soon would be good.
Nice one! The cab ride was a great view on that train. I've wandered all around on Google Earth through that canyon and it's a shame there is almost no road access. You did it the best possible justice that anyone could!
The Joseph branch, I work the INP side from La Grande to Elgin. Surprised there wasn’t the history about how the entire line was saved from being scrapped when the WURR bought it from INP

Good ol Ed Spaulding he’s a cool guy
@@TheBeeMan1994 Yes he is! Ed was instrumental in making this video possible.
Ed allowed me to run the locomotive when I was 8. To this day, I thank him for helping develop my love for railroading

@@TheBeeMan1994There is, if you listen carefully the narrator tells you.
@@gretchenchadwick8343 ah, must’ve missed it a year ago when I made that comment
@@TheBeeMan1994 That's alright thank you for your reply God bless you 😇👼🐏🐑🥀🔥✝️🤴✡🙏 John 3:16
Nice. Where did the passenger cars come from? The engines don't look like GP7s to me.
I should say they were originally Santa Fe GP7's now classified as a GP7u. I'm sure someone has a better answer than me on this.
They are GP7u locomotives, with what’s called Topeka cabs, in the 70s Santa Fe upgraded the locomotives with chop noses, and flat top roofs
@@TheBeeMan1994 Thanks for the info!
Thank you for pardoning those tuks, driver-boi
