What is ASMR? According to Wikipedia:
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), sometimes auto sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.
ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.

Note that he doesn't have the need of whispering and even softspeaking is only used at certain times. Many asmrtists should think about this, whispers or soft speak seems to be a must in asmr content, when the truth is that the key element is the atmosphere. You could perfectly speak at a normal tone, if you build the right atmosphere to relax your audience.
That’s a good point
@@SRPASMR you are a master of asmr
@@adm9666 cheers
I agree
I actually don't like whispering it makes me cringe. Much prefer a video like this
I prefer soft speaking - whispering is just frustrating most the time. There are some loud sounds or sharper talking on this one which can jolt me but overall it's quite soothing.
Love when these two make videos together.
We do enjoy it. It’s a shame Chris is working away right now but we’ll make more magic when he returns.
@@SRPASMR I look forward to it. You put out great content.
@@WayneLeMaster thanks bro
@@SRPASMR just subbed on Patreon
It’s so good
I feel like this would get more likes If everyone didn’t fall asleep
😂😂😂🤓
😂
True
These 2 are actually so good at making videos together, they speech patterns, knowledge and vibe work so well for these videos.
Hope so 😆
@@SRPASMR are you two together?
@@IaKhaniche has a wife and step daughter
Always get good tingles just listening to the terms of optometry
Glad to hear it
Love the beginning of this video as you discuss patients medical records having it realistic with his actual medical issues and medications made it feel more real and tingly than others where its all generic yes and no
Cool. But it was still roleplay.
If you enjoyed it, fantastic.
You guys are the best hands down.
Thanks buddy
Yes I definitely second this 😍 best video yet
I actually find this brilliant, because you guys are 2 people bringing your actual professions into the world of ASMR. Which is more than a role-play because you know more about it than anyone could ever role play!
Also, you're fellow Brummies!!
Absolutely. Looking forward to creating more content together soon.
SRP: "Non invasive test"
Also SRP: *Gets close enough to taste the patients skin*
I hope your joking and you do know what an invasive test is
@@MB_airsoft yes I'm joking, invasive can also mean invading personal space, that's the joke
@@ethanspring5129 ok
I love how I first took the mick out of ASMR and thought it was disgusting, weird and wrong but now I depend on it daily to get to sleep. Without it I’d not be able to sleep 😂
That’s what you call a 180
I find this video in particular one of his best not only for the quality of sound but for the fact that he can speak at a normal tone without it seeming too loud or uncomfortable. This really shows the atmosphere this man has created. Excellent work my friend!!
See this is why I always nearly fall asleep when I go to the opticians. I love the way the talk they always speak with a very gentle voice and make me feel so relaxed and this video has done the same. Absolutely loved it well done lads x
Cheers Sam
I wish my opticians made me feel sleepy, the bright lights really keep me awake!
The amount of times ive watched this video yet never made it to the end is impressive, you guys work together almost too well! Hope we get a part 2 one day 🤞🤞
Glad you enjoyed it. I have plans to do lots more with Chris. He'll be back in the Midlands soon.
I've been using this video for the past week, one of my favorites on the channel, especially the beginning questionnaire role-playing.
Glad you like my friend
looove how relaxing your interactions are, it has that perfect soft tone that instantly relaxes me and it's the first time i've heard a brummie in asmr!
The sheer number of tingles I experienced from this video was extraordinary!
“…I’m a little bit nervous about this…”
“…don’t worry, I’m not going to kill you.”
Haha
Hahaha

@@SRPASMR what do floaters in eye meaj everytime I get a headache which is maybe once every 2 months they are there, thanks!
This man always makes my day when I see that he posted something new!
Happy to make it 😁
I keep coming back to all your videos. I honestly think you are the best ASMRtist - most authentic for sure. Thank you!!
Just what I want. Cheers buddy.
Can't be the only one who'll watch this twice
Cheers Andy
Once to see what they’re doing and then again to fall asleep. I love vids that are both interesting and relaxing (so this entire channel)
I’ve watched it at least 3 times
It's soo good ive watched this same video 9 times 😅
This week
You two are just the best. You deserve so many more followers. Best of luck!
Wow. This just came up as a recommended video and I’m loving the tingles. There’s so many great role play asmr vids out there but this one actually feels like a real eye test which gives it that extra authenticity which in turn makes it more relaxing. Subscribed.
Thanks for clicking.
Appreciate the kind words.
I think it is a real eye test lol

You guys are the best :-) thanks for your hard work!
just realised that in 9 months you went from 5K subs to 83k Congrats :-)
Thanks so much. When you put it like that, it really does seem like a lot.
The banter is so amazing between these two I can’t sleep 😂

Woohoo the best ASMR Collab duo ever, doc you are treating us here 😃
Thanks bud. May release a short tomorrow.

@@Toxikyle1 yes they do
Both of these guys together is great.
Thanks 😊
Cadence, rhythm, tonality and volume are auditory factors in ASMR. But they trigger responses because the artist is doing them unconsciously. Or very skillfully on cue. This is my favourite channel for this reason.
Most channels in this field of entertainment have little autonomy and seem to jump on whatever the trend is.
The artist in this channel simulates the natural affects of one of the phenomena of rapport which is what is now known as ASMR
Long winded of saying thank you for your videos
Thanks for the critique. I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you for making this video,I can’t express how much watching this helped me relax 💗Sending you love and blessings SRP💗
You're very welcome my friend
23:20 was that intentional? 🤣 love it. You're a great content creator, I especially appreciate you not bricking up the whole video with ad breaks. Nothing worse when you're trying to relax! Keep up the great work!
I hate mid roll ads personally.
Thanks so much.
I think everything was unintentional.
What a great video ! Thank you both
The iconic duo is back
🤓🤓
This was brilliant. So in depth and professional, but very relaxing too
You really know your stuff SRP!
You both work well together and I love the Brummie accents....youm are both Stars xx

We have plans to do lots more work together when he returns.
Thanks for uploading, your guys videos are the best!

Great video, very relaxing. This guy has a real talent for this. Whispering constantly doesn’t do it for me, but this is excellent.
Thanks. I’m more a fan of speaking normal tone with real person asmr. Just my preference though.
Great video! Always give me tingles and smiles 🙂
Glad to hear it. Ty
that ''Hello :3'' at the start made me smile
😁
Love the Monty Python shirt
Monty Python is GOAT! Based.
I’m about to go to my eye doctor (I’m overdue for an appointment!)- hoping it’s nearly as relaxing as this!
Me too 😁
I watch this literally every day
I’m happy to like it 😁

@@SRPASMR Okay.
The perfect duo are back
please upload again
i watched the news video already
Thanks Erin
So love these videos!
Excellent. Thanks 😊
You are such a good team. 👌 I really enjoyed the insight into how you interact with real non-youtubey patients too. Everything about this is so professional and patient-centred. Awesome. It gave me vivid memories of how the doctor at the specialist eye clinic looked after me and my squinty eye when I was really little.
You never told me about your squinty eye.
@@SRPASMR Hah, my left eye has been squinty since birth. I used to go to a proper hospital service and I was the toddler with glasses and an eye patch. At age 14-ish I got super vain and stopped wearing my glasses. I was told that my eye would likely weaken and that I would get headaches and lose vision, but I was pig headed. I was also incredibly lucky, as my vision actually corrected itself instead. 😅 Both my eyes work sort of independently of each other now, and my right eye vision is apparently absolutely superb to account for my weaker left eye. I don't even need glasses now, but I can't use binoculars because it would involve my eyes communicating in a way that they now can't. The only sign of my squinty eye now is that my left eyelid drops slightly when I am really tired.
@@SRPASMR In fact, my first ASMR experiences were at the eye clinic I went to as a little kid (I remember trying to explain that the 'machine with the green laser patterns' made me feel funny) which is part of why I enjoy your channel so much I reckon.
@@dreamfolorn fascinating. Do you ever get double vision at any times?
@@SRPASMR Only if I am having to focus very quickly on things up close. It takes a moment. If I switch my vision to close up very quickly I see the object as double and it kind of slides together into one picture within a second or two. It's sort of hard to explain. 😂
are you from Dudley?
The dynamic duo back at it again
😁
Loved this!
Thanks 😊
These two just can’t miss
😊👍🏽
The acting is great 👍🏿 And the ASMR factor is superb
Thanks buddy.

Best ASMR duo out there!
Much appreciation

This is just the best
Thanks Fred
You too always do such a fab job
Thanks buddy
28:36 The optometrist appears to have something else on offer for the patient! I guess the prescription is gradually being increased until he notices
Quick question Is there a treatment for floaters, mine are very distracting and present in my vision at all times, do i need surgery to remove them?
It would be surgery. Something called a Vitrectomy.
My new favourite asmr video
Love these guys
Thanks 😊
This is very good .. well done chaps ☺️
Appreciated 🤜🏽🤛🏽
Looking at that kit alone makes me tingle
I like it when that happens 😁
Eye exams are the best asmr's of all exams!
Very glad. It's nice how there was a little space for me on UA-cam to deliver the vids.
Love the vid!
Much appreciated
I can vividly remember the first time I discovered eye floaters. I didn't know what they were until 12 years later. I was swimming in a pool in the middle of summer in Alabama at my Grandparent's house. Freaky thing to see, I rubbed my little eyes red, thinking I had worm in my eye.
Yeah that’s what most people do, or try and swat them away thinking it’s a fly
00:02 him: 'hello there'
Me, a starwars fan: 'im not going to say it...
I said it!'
Ooh it'll be a year tomorrow! Huzzah! Happy anniversary!
Never laughed so hard in my life when you said "I'm not going to kill you" 😂😂
I like how the camera joins in on the pupil test.
Definitely
Microphone distance is paramount to build an atmosphere, ASMR is meant to be relaxing and in this instance it is to replicate an appointment. If you're close up onto a microphone, you're forced to whisper and tread carefully. While when the microphone is a bit farther away, you can speak normally without worry of spikes in the audio. Great production quality, as always.
Thank you
When I,m testing my eyes by SRP, “I want to get my eyes tested” SRP : Again, you where here yesterday!? , me : something changed .. … (And repeat that every day XD
I'm always surprised by just how different British accents can be from one another. It seems there are at least a dozen regional dialects, at least from what I can deduce as an ignorant American lol either way I always love to hear your accent and your voice is so soothing. You've become one of the few ASMRtists I can call a favorite of mine, and I'm pretty picky about it. Keep up the good work!
@@ea-rl6bk yeah it is? They both are.
@@ea-rl6bk I'm pretty sure SRP is from Birmingham. Last time I checked, that was in Great Britain. Well, Alabama too but somehow I don't think that's the right Birmingham.
That is a British voice. 2 actually 😂
@@SRPASMR No it's not! It's Mongolian 😂
There are dozens and dozens, they can change from one road to another in some places, with some dialects almost indecipherable to an outsiders ears, you honestly wouldn't think some of them are part of the English language.
I C U MORE CLEAR(L)Y 😂😂 That was too clever!!
😁
Everything was so relaxing I was drifting into sleep then boom he coughed 🙄
I’d love to see a new with or without with Chris again. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
That’s awesome bruv

If there was an ASMR voice and accent contest this, guy would get a Gran Prix. Brilliant.
By the way.. He got an "anti-sandwich breath" mouth wash👏👏👏
