This is one of my favorite cream songs It was one of their earliest singles and really showed their poppier sides , in concert their songs were more extended type jams showcasing their musicianship Each member Eric Clapton , Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker were virtuosos on their instruments Only together for just about 3 years they created a slew of rock classics My favorite Cream songs are Politician Im so Glad Strange Brew SWALBR Interesting thing about I Feel Free is that music is by Jack Brice and Lyrics by his writing partner Pete Brown Pete wrote lyrics of several of Creams biggest hits Several other bands use non musicians or band members to write lyrics for them ( usually poets ) Grateful Dead lyricist was Robert Hunter King Crimson lyricist was Peter Sinfield And most famously Bernie Taupin lyrics for Elton John I find this arrangement very interesting
@jessem470 Very interesting, Jesse. I assumed they had written it. Thanks for the clarification on that. This is a real cool catchy song. I am glad I chose your favourite 🤩💙
Like you Sue, I'm really only familiar with a few songs by Cream, like "Sunshine Of Your Love", "White Room", and "Strange Brew" .. However, this sounded familiar too, so I think I must have heard it without knowing who it was .. I like it .. Nice mixture of psychedelic and blues pop.. Cream's just one of many famous bands I've not got around to exploring .. Need more free time !
It's a pretty cool song, I've never heard it before, I googled it, it came out in 1966. One interesting fact is that it was the first song played on the radio station WBCN in Boston in 1968, and also the second last one they played before changing their format and call sign in 2009

The great singles never outstay their welcome, do they? Usually, quite the opposite, as here.
