Haunted Mansion is a 2023 American supernatural horror comedy film directed by Justin Simien from a screenplay by Katie Dippold. The film stars LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jared Leto. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Rideback, it is the second theatrical film adaptation of Walt Disney's theme park attraction The Haunted Mansion, following the 2003 film of the same name. In the film, Gabbie (Dawson) and Travis (Chase W. Dillon) enlist the aid of a team (Stanfield, Haddish, Wilson, and DeVito) to help exorcise their mansion and destroy the ghosts around them.

What do YOU guys think of The Haunted Mansion?!
I actually really enjoyed it! Pretty funny at times, great performances, and a fun atmosphere. I'll admit it was poorly paced and too long though
Seeing it tomorrow before my second viewing of Oppenheimer finally in Imax 70mm. The 70mm projector broke down on the opening Thursday night showings after I had booked my tickets for the Friday night 10pm over a month in advance. So after seeing Barbie on Friday they instead showed it to us in Imax digital and gave free movie passes to apologize and it was on the city news being shown in digital the entire opening weekend which was completely sold out. Luckily the projector is now wokring whats even more is I showed up on Thursday 20 minutes before the first 70mm Imax show to pick up a film strip which i got then after I left it crashed for eveyone watching it at the 6pm showing. They had signs all over the packed theater on Friday due to Barbie as well saying due to technical issues tonight's showing will not be in Imax 70mm but instead Imax digital.

I have an interesting fact that kind of ties in with Eddie Murphy's role in the 2003 movie. In Delirious, Eddie Murphy talks about how black people would never be seen in a haunted house movie because they would leave if anything supernatural occurs. That is one of his stand up routines.

It sounds like it was made as some sort of a sketch-like horror comedy anthology (given the prominent cast of comedy actors) but changed it into something more streamlined. Funny enough, screenwriter Katie Dippold wrote on the last seasons of MADtv.

Apparently Del Toro was going to direct but then he left the project. That is such a shame b/c I thought his take on Pinnochio was one of the best movies of last year.

For me I enjoyed this. I don’t think it can compare to the original but, I know for yourself it doesn’t hold up. I really liked the cast and I thought there was some comedy and being it’s a Disney kids movie the humor is a little different. It’s not real scary but, there was many things I noticed from the ride which was cool. Id watch it again and just about all my family enjoyed it.
That’s all you can ask for in a comedy family movie right?!

Male lead was a drain... he didnt have enough personality for me....some plot bits needed sharper shorter definition.....and needwd jared leto not just cgi leto voiced meh character

there is only one way to describe this movie. Absolutely terrible. I give this a 2/10. Clunky and meaningless plot. combined with bad acting.
Nothing to save the audience from this movie. I bet the audience who watched in theatres were feeling haunted by boredom. An interesting premise. Several top notch actors. And you make a movie that is not only senseless but dumb and boring. How you can do that ? this must be in running for the worst movie of the decade,
I bet this movie is going to haunt everybody involved in it.

Why did Lakeith Senfield become a tour guide after his wife died.
Why did Rosario Dawson buy a house where 100 people had died. Did she not check the house with all weird paintings and tables
Luke Wilson is a priest a man of god and yet he was lying to people to trap them in the house.
Tiffany Haddish is psychic who can speak to the dead and yet she knows nothing about the ghosts in the house
Danny Devito has been researching about the house for 60 years. He has a full file. And yet he knows nothing of what happened in the house.
the loopholes just go on and on.
And the acting . Really poor. Apart from that little kid, the actress who played Lakeith's wife and Winona Ryder in the one scene she appears this was really poorly acted. And all seasoned actors.
I agree with what Jeremy Jahns said. they were probably writing the script as they were shooting the movie or shooting as they were writing the script.
I would have given this a 0.5, the lowest rating a movie can get from me but the costume design and set design, especially the costume design is really good.
I wouldn't feel too bad for them. They got paid and probably couldn't care less haha

Sure. But may I also remind you that it's all opinion. My mother-in-law has seen this movie 4 times because she loved it. While I don't see eye to eye with her at all on that, I'm happy that she was able to see a movie and have an experience so great she wanted to see it again and again and again. A poorly made movie to one person is a movie worth watching 4 times to another. It's all opinion
