    It's great to see the real deal and fails are part of the process. Again yes, I love what you refer to as your weird humor. I'm a 1970's girl so your comment about "Saran wrap on acid" was hilarious!! Lot's of great info!

      Thank you! I have a vivid imagination AND I'm a world-class pun queen. I can usually be found covered in paint and laughing at my own jokes.

    This is exactly why one shouldn’t scrape...all the lessons learned. Love your videos! My save for an absolute fail is to do a resin painting over it with various transparent/opaque pigments...get wonderful depth. Really like this one though...it’s beautiful.

      Yes! Thank you! I have a few canvas paintings that are sub-par on the whole but could definitely be used like that. I'll be trying it once spring rolls around! We're in a blizzard today in WI - even in my house it's too cold for resin work right now.

    Love it! Love it! I just over heated my paint and blowing just showed off the rippling rolled paint. 🤮 You did a beautiful save, but not my painting. If Love to see more like this. First time I laughed watching UA-cam!

      Oh no! Sorry that happened! I'm stubborn so I refuse to scrape. I'm glad you laughed! That means I did my job!

    I'm a little shocked. I think you showed exactly where I've been going wrong: overtorching. I had no idea why my tilted or blown paintings looked like my mom's homemade chocolate pudding when I peeled the skin back. (Yummy, but not appetizing-looking.)
    I'll find out this afternoon when I start straining and thinning out my own old paints.

    • @PaintedRaina
      @PaintedRaina  3 роки тому

      Yes, there is definitely a point of no return when it comes to torching - I have learned the hard way! How did it go for you?

      @@PaintedRaina Maybe it's the upgraded paint (after seven months, opened the wallet and got my first jar of Amsterdam Ti White) and maybe it's being more careful with the heat but by the grace of WTF I blew out the first Dutch pour that I wasn't entirely ashamed of. I didn't adjust it before because damn it, it never occurred to me.
      Thank you!

    LOVING your channel!! Subbed and somewhat binging right now. lol. I'm a novice fluid painter. Do you have a good recipe for American flotrol and wood conditioner? I tried it as a CA and it didn't work at all. The cells broke apart and got super spidery.

    • @PaintedRaina

      Yes I do - but only for black! It's in a few of my early videos - I want to say "Rainbow in the Dark Blooms" and possibly 'Coral Reef Blooms.' I'll see if I can find it, but check those out in the meantime because I have the memory of a house fly.

      I’ll check em out!! That’s perfect because I just bought a tube of Amsterdam black! Thank you
