He definitely recognized Mike. He was disrespectful and snarky to him up until he read his name then completely changed his tone. He knew Mike and who he was. as for Garrett, it's likely he's the puppet. The "It's Me" was always therorized to be the crying child trying to get the attention of the security guard who was his older brother Mike. And Garrett seems to be the Puppet which has been hinted out throughout the movie. Puppet was on the blackboard and Come Find me is similar to the Save them in the games. And it is the year 2000 (security camera had the date). Early enough where some poeple have cells but early enough that it wouldn't be strange to not have.
They teased the puppet in a couple scenes. "Blink and you'll miss it" kind of thing. Its hiding in the shadows behind the stage at one point, and in another spot you can see it peering from the kitchen.
that is not the puppet. it seems the crew hid an endo skeleton in the background of a lot of scenes and even if it is not the puppet it is really fun to see
@@originalgaige5619 I've been looking at that. There is only one post about that scene on Reddit and everyone in the comments of that archived post say it's most likely not a real image. William Afton had a motive for kidnapping Garrett across state lines, it was personal. Mike's mother is Mrs Afton who left William when she was preggo with Mike. They ended up with Henry Schmitt who was William's coworker. The only hint we have of this is the Schmitt family photo where Henry is using rabbit ears on Mike. In the novels it is mentioned that William is insanely jealous of Henry. The enraged William found out the Schmitt's location and traveled to Nebraska to abduct Garrett. 'You took my son so I'm taking yours'. Of course this makes Mike and Vanessa siblings. When Mike asks Vanessa, "Who the hell are you?" she replies, "Just someone who wants to help." This theory would explain a lot.
You ask me, William Afton's probably just as if not more evil than Freddy Krueger, considering he's also a serial killer child murder. But with Freddy, after he's killed someone, their just dead. Afton, though, not only killed children but basically enslaves their ghosts through Freddy & the other amatronics. It is utterly terrifying if you think about it.
Actually if you watched the movies you know freddy takes the souls of the children he murdered, trapped them in his body and use them for power. I think it's more terrifying suffering inside a dream killing serial killer
@@kaneclerk6530 Honestly BOTH are horrifying fates, it's just depending if you fear the more personal Fate of Being Freddy's power, or the More Depressing fate of being Afton's Pawn.
The bit where vanessa gives mike the tazers was interesting. She outright said that afton controls the animatronics when hes there and then later said she wouldn't be of any help if her father was there. Its heavily implying she too is a robot, probably closer to book Elizabeth than game Elizabeth where she is able to take on an extremely realistic human form. I dont know if its just a happy coincidence or they intentionally tried to find someone named Elizabeth to play Vanessa but the pieces are all there
I never actually played any of the games, I just got interested in the lore months ago and watched a lot of content about the story, yet I was SO hyped throughout the entire movie. Caught quite a few references, didn’t catch some of them, and I had a TON of fun. The fan service was done masterfully. I can only imagine how excited long-time fans must’ve felt, especially if they’ve loved the series ever since the first game. Blumhouse and Scott Cawthon did a fantastic job
When they started showing how wholesome the robots were I was mad but then after a bit I realize softened to it. As a kid I was traumatized. I liked other kids and only certain adults. I forgot (and still forget) parts of my past and my trauma. Those were just kids. I like that they made them as kids.
There's a gap between a game built completely on jump scares and the lore where the things trying to kill you are, as scott put it, 'still just children who have forgotten what love is.' I'm excited to see the next one, the puppet is my favorite character and probably Mike's brother given the original lore's timeline. I finally got to see these dead kids be happy and play for a few minutes and then watch their murderer suffer which was neat.
Obviously growing up with fnaf from a young age by staying entwined with youtubers since I was like five and hearing about this movie when I was 6 a lot of expectations and doubts grew over the years. Now whether im a real fan or not since I havent touched any of the games, I say thqt the movie is what 6 year old me prolly expected. Not that im saying the movie was tailored to specifically children, but that the fnaf franchise and fandom at that time would have loved the fnaf movie we got. So it was nice to see that deep down the fandom hasnt shifted, but grown because of the overwhelming praise for the movie makes me very happy.
Holy cow!! This movie was so good! It's like M3GAN, Black Phone, and Willy's Wonderland all beautifully mixed together. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE a sequel! New elements and all, they did a terrific job adapting the story and the games! Thank you so much for covering the film🙏
I took my twin 10yr olds to see this long sob, thought no way they can sit through this....they last about 15 mins on any movie. They were absolutely glued to the screen every second, and I without knowledge of fnaf because I'm old, didnt think this movie was bad at all....for kids mostly, but lots better than i thought would be. Matthew Lillard did a great job 👍🏻 I would like to see a part 2 fr!!
The Balloon Boy is tiny as a reference to one of the Fazbear Frights stories called "Lucky Boy." In case you are unaware, the Fazbear Frights books are a series of 12 books each containing 3 Goosebumps-esk stories. But they can be pretty gory, so I advise caution. In "Lucky Boy," Balloon Boy is a tiny figurine holding a sign that says "I'm a lucky boy!" Throughout the story, a man listens to it for advice, telling him to buy a winning lottery ticket that ends up being a winner, leave his hopeless job, leave his girlfriend that he hates, and invest in starting his own business. However, at the end, Lucky Boy encourages him to essentially mutilate himself to make himself "look better" for his high school reunion.
"I don't know, he looks familiar... Some guy that makes a weird comment about something just being a theory, I don't know." Haha made me chuckle, go MatPat! And go FoundFlix!
It was a 7/10 for me. too much of mike sleeping and not enough time developing the rest of the story. Vanessa just doing a 180° in her mood (which made me think they were going for Vanny) the timeline being blended like a smoothie to make separate lore for the movie universe. It was good in its own right but I was hoping for more
@@AbdefFable1I agree and i wish the movie was more mature and took itself seriously at times it felt like they wrote the stript specifically for little childrens with goofy lines and the fort scene
I wonder if the tiny balloon boy is a new take on the Fredbear camera from the 4th and 5th game, like maybe that little guy is a camera so William can watch him, and would explain how he moves around
I’ll be honest, the FNAF movie has its minor flaws. Like the fort scene felt unnecessary, the lack of screen time for Mathew Lillard, and the movie could have been more scary. Overall, I was blown away with the dedication and work put into this movie. It’s not a masterpiece, but nothing “went wrong” with the movie. It’s Fnaf’s first time on the big screen, so I imagine the second will be better. Solid 8.5/10 As of writing this, the movie is very close to making 300 million dollars, and it’s budget was 25 million. I’m glad it was successful, and I wish Blumhouse luck for the next installment. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait as long.
I'm convinced that Officer Vanessa is a reference to Vanessa from Security Breach Blonde woman named Vanessa in a position of authority(cop/security guard) with seemingly ulterior motives but is ultimately innocent in everything
"We don't even know what 'present day' is." The movie takes place in the year 2000. It was shown on the security camera after Mike's incident at the mall.
It's a movie made for the fans of the games. Also, I feel like the biggest plot hole is the fact that the police did the search for the missing kids but didn't check the insides of the animatronics. I feel like that's one of the first places the police would check if this was in the real world.
I disagree, it was made for children, who know of the game…that’s it. Bc those who grew up playing the games and reading the books, and theorizing with their fav youtubers are bout grown now 😂
Interestingly enough, by doing this, Mike unwittingly gives enough energy for the spirits to feed on to properly communicate with him to indicate the place is haunted and the tape recorder becomes a bit of a device commonly used by ghost hunters to communicate with the dead. This is one aspect that's pulled from the lore of the games than directly from the games themselves.
For reference, the movie takes place in the year 2000. It's confirmed in the security camera watching Mike when he's waiting to meet his career counselor.
Also the fact that they're in a orange bottle means they are prescribed by a doctor, DO NOT STOP TAKING MEDICINE PRESCRIBED BY A DOCTOR WITHOUT TELLING THEM FIRST PLEASE GUYS 😭

We’ve had Horror History and now Ending Explained of FNAF. Now we just need the Dead Meat Kill Count to complete the trifecta. Always love your videos my dude.
Garret is Golden Freddy imo. There was even the classic "It's me" message on the mirror in the movie. You even see the golden Freddy suit where all the dead people got deposited.
I deeply loved this movie, and so did my friends who were not super into the lore as I was. I really loved that it wasn't jumpsacre filled as to me it forced them to focus more on the story and implications of the crimes to push the fear. Also I still am not sure if it was intentional, but I noticed in many of the places where lore was changed that it ended up pulling from old fan theories for the games themselves, which I thought was a very clever touch if on purpose. Lillard fucking killed it. He was perfect casting.
So, one thing I wanted to point out about the "Come find me" is that, while it is in the same voice as the death minigames from FNaF 2, it mirrors a line from a later FNaF game. There's an ending cutscene from FNaF: Sister Location where Michael Afton is heard speaking to his father- not directly like in person but the same way you might see a movie character speak to their dead mom when they're in a tough spot in their life- explaining that he did what his father told him to do, that he should be dead but isn't, and there's only one thing left for him to do. He says, "I'm going to come find you," several times before Springtrap falls over into the scene. So, to me, this is likely hinting at the possibility or likelihood of a FNaF 2 movie WHILE ALSO possibly hinting at the plot. Maybe a family member does go to come find him.
It's the fact that you're half correct that really makes me not like the movie You can make a FNAF movie scary and for the fans It just feels like they threw a script together and then fluffed it up for kids for the extra buck (that they really didn't need I mean this franchise is a cashcow) Literally all of the top comments I see on vides reviewing the movie are all about Jim hensen studios work which I agree wss good But we're supposed to be talking about the story not the puppetry The fact that the first positive thing people about this movie isn't the story p Kills me

If Garrett was the first victim that would put his death in the early 80s, since the Pizzeria closed in the 80s after the 5 Muders this could set the events of the film in the mid to late 90s. This could explain the lack of cell phones as they weren't as prevalent or affordable then.
Right?!?! I was truly surprised by his performance! At first I was like "oh another Hollywood pretty boy trying to make a paycheck, he won't give a shit" but I'm glad I was so so wrong. Him and Mathew Lillard killed their roles. Abby and Vanessa did great too.

I saw it on opening night with a group of friends (all long-time fans) and when we were in the cinema walking to the theater, we got stopped because some people who were in cosplay had ‘too much' face paint on. The manager got called and like 4 different employees showed up to check but they let us in. But before that, one of them said "you guys like balloon boy?" And we just.. stood there. Before collectively being like uh sure..? And he just.. ominously said "He's there." and left ????? And yeah he was right but I'm still puzzled over that whole interaction

Nope the critics know what they're talking about, the movie was shit and the fans don't wanna admit it just because they're fans of the franchise, the movie barely stays true to the best parts of the video game, like I really thought they would at least utilise the security cameras more, it hardly makes sense and it was really boring, like I at least thought it would be fun and have some decent scares but no the whole thing felt forced and most of the plot points made no sense
This attempt was painful to watch, to think this film started in 2015 and then so many rewrites and director changes. This film was always up against it, they finished filming in April 2023 and then rushed to get it in cinemas 6 months later. Jim Henson work as always was outstanding though
There were so many things in the movie that retconned the games. Like the realistic state the animatronics should be in (not smelling good), the weird creation of a Vanessa/Elizabeth Afton blend, and the habits of the animatronics to put victims into saw-like traps instead of habitually trying to put people into the suits. Hilariously enough I do find this in the spirit of the fnaf franchises confusing storyline. Although I do wish they could have kept Vanessa and Elizabeth seperate because it means Help wanted, Sister Location and Security Breach's stories and lore will be extremely difficult to put into the movie sequels if there is one.
My 7 year old loved the movie and is obsessed with FNAF. Meanwhile at that age I had a different type of Freddy who was a kid murderer and I was not hopping up and down happy to watch the movie lol

Upon a second watching its interesting to watch Mike's first day with the dream in mind. We see the guard in the first night instead of Mike's dream so we just see Mike going about his day before we know about the dream.
I don't think the dream world could actually affect the real world, I think real-life Foxy just injured Mike in his sleep simultaneously with his dream child version.
My family loved this movie! It was so well done! And I learned an interesting fact about Chica; she had three hands. Two of them were empty, but the third one had Cupcake on it, so whenever they shot a scene with Chica and Cupcake, they would just removed her right hand and pop in the other one.
My husband and i have been following the games since they first came out. We had so much fun watching the movie. It wasn't some amazing, cinematic masterpiece, but it was fun, and the references were fun to look for and pick out

oh yeah the kids who were brutally murdered just wanna have funn!! honestly I think the main horror aspect of FnaF was gutted to sell to kids, which I cant blame Scott for. Bro is raking in millions with this watered down version. The og fnaf was shrouded in mystery and the atmosphere really put it all together. Now you got fucking vannesa somehow knowing micheal and being the daughter of william afton. Like seriously what a let down :/

Coming from a non-FNAF fan and big horror geek, this was so enjoyable to watch. I can't even explain why.
It reminds me Goosebumps and other youth-horror like productions. Quite chill and fun. FNAF movie was quite a pleasant surprise for me cause I expected much worse.

100%. As a person who grew up watching horror this was a fun and pretty spooky watch for me.
I think its the unsettling feeling u get , the vibes, the tracks. And Chica looks terrifying. No blood or gore needed for pyschological effects
You're just a little super sleuth aren't you
@tntboomy Not in the slightest. A lot of game theory on FNAF, and a little of my own conclusions after things were pointed out to me.
Never thought I’d see the day Foundflix covers FNAF
You serious?
Really? This channel covers pretty much any major horror movie, plus a few niche ones. FNAF was always gonna be on this channel.
Willys wonderland is waaay better than this movie
They teased the puppet in a couple scenes. "Blink and you'll miss it" kind of thing. Its hiding in the shadows behind the stage at one point, and in another spot you can see it peering from the kitchen.
that is not the puppet. it seems the crew hid an endo skeleton in the background of a lot of scenes and even if it is not the puppet it is really fun to see
@@emmanuelfuentes3650 the one behind the stage I can believe. But the kitchen one literally shows the crying puppet mask lol
@@originalgaige5619 I've been looking at that. There is only one post about that scene on Reddit and everyone in the comments of that archived post say it's most likely not a real image. In fact atticpartiers went back to check and it is not there. as a long fan of you and a longer fan of fnaf, this is really nice to see. not only did you do great research but you did a way better job on actually getting the facts right. if it weren't for you saying you weren't that into the lore i would've thought you atleast dabled in it a bit. so great job and this was really nice to see coming from you especially
Also I don't think getting hurt in the dream world, is what hurt him. Pretty sure the boys ghost used the foxy robot to cut him then it took off
William Afton had a motive for kidnapping Garrett across state lines, it was personal.
That's quite a theory that!
Would love to see that confirmed someday, maybe if this sequel comes about?

The place crumbles because the fifth kid, the blonde one, is like a poltergeist. He’s the one randomly opening and locking doors, for example.
Tyher'e
@@kaneclerk6530 Honestly BOTH are horrifying fates, it's just depending if you fear the more personal Fate of Being Freddy's power, or the More Depressing fate of being Afton's Pawn.

The bit where vanessa gives mike the tazers was interesting. She outright said that afton controls the animatronics when hes there and then later said she wouldn't be of any help if her father was there. Its heavily implying she too is a robot, probably closer to book Elizabeth than game Elizabeth where she is able to take on an extremely realistic human form.
I dont know if its just a happy coincidence or they intentionally tried to find someone named Elizabeth to play Vanessa but the pieces are all there
For most of the movie I thought Vanessa secretly was the spirit in the Marionette, since for a while Mike was the only person who saw or spoke to her.
Injuries don't come from the dreams, comes from the animatronics fucking with him while he's asleep
Holy cow!! This movie was so good! It's like M3GAN, Black Phone, and Willy's Wonderland all beautifully mixed together. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE a sequel! New elements and all, they did a terrific job adapting the story and the games! Thank you so much for covering the film🙏
When the kids attacked in the dreams only for it to become real I was like "Did these kids take a lesson or two from Kruger or something?"
Well if you think about it A Nightmare on Elm Street did come out in the 80’s so it’s a big possibility.
This movie gave Saw, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Black Phone and Scream vibes all in one!

In "Lucky Boy," Balloon Boy is a tiny figurine holding a sign that says "I'm a lucky boy!"
Throughout the story, a man listens to it for advice, telling him to buy a winning lottery ticket that ends up being a winner, leave his hopeless job, leave his girlfriend that he hates, and invest in starting his own business. However, at the end, Lucky Boy encourages him to essentially mutilate himself to make himself "look better" for his high school reunion.
"I don't know, he looks familiar... Some guy that makes a weird comment about something just being a theory, I don't know."
Haha made me chuckle, go MatPat! And go FoundFlix!
I still can't believe this happened,10 years in the making, this movie did not disappoint, that's for sure,as a Fnaf fan myself, this movie is 8/10
Ehhhhh
It was a 7/10 for me. too much of mike sleeping and not enough time developing the rest of the story. Vanessa just doing a 180° in her mood (which made me think they were going for Vanny) the timeline being blended like a smoothie to make separate lore for the movie universe. It was good in its own right but I was hoping for more

@@hayleycakes3435Scott said himself he would if the first movie was a success, and Matthew liard signed a 3 picture deal.
Solid 8.5/10
As of writing this, the movie is very close to making 300 million dollars, and it’s budget was 25 million. I’m glad it was successful, and I wish Blumhouse luck for the next installment. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait as long.
Would LOVE!!! A deeper dive into the Easter Eggs in the movie and if they end up changing your idea of where the series goes!
I'm convinced that Officer Vanessa is a reference to Vanessa from Security Breach
Blonde woman named Vanessa in a position of authority(cop/security guard) with seemingly ulterior motives but is ultimately innocent in everything
"We don't even know what 'present day' is."
The movie takes place in the year 2000.
It's never explained in the games why they didn't check the suits as well so it's true to the lore at least
In the games, the police did get the go to search the restaurant but not the animatronics for some safety reasons (don't quite remember it)
in the games fazbear entertainment covered up and swept A LOT of dark stuff under the rug.
@@SnuSnuDungeonit's explained why. They were off limits
I disagree, it was made for children, who know of the game…that’s it. Bc those who grew up playing the games and reading the books, and theorizing with their fav youtubers are bout grown now 😂
I think the "come find me" is Garret speaking to Mike. Not the other way around.

I loved this movie so much but I laughed so hard during the scene where Abby introduces the animatronics to Mike due to them giving him the stink eye
Maybe garret wrote the “it’s me” message on the mirror too
"Ten years since the series began"
Anyone else completely forget the series was that old?
If you go in expecting a horror movie, you will be disappointed... But if you are expecting a FNAF movie you'll probably like it!
This definitely wasn’t a fnaf movie 😂
I expected a fnaf movie to be serious, eerie and creepy tho just like the first game dark and grimy the movie wasn't like that
It's the fact that you're half correct that really makes me not like the movie
You can make a FNAF movie scary and for the fans
It just feels like they threw a script together and then fluffed it up for kids for the extra buck (that they really didn't need I mean this franchise is a cashcow)
Literally all of the top comments I see on vides reviewing the movie are all about Jim hensen studios work which I agree wss good

Wait, i dont follow that plan. They want to get Mike fired by trashing the place...so they do it during the day? When he isnt on shift and thus, not in any way at fault? How would that get hom fired?
Negligence while locking up. He "left a door open" or so they could blame him for that, and that's how the vagrants got in. Yeah, it's a stretch but I've honestly fired ppl for less.
@@hayleycakes3435They broke in thru a bay door. He always used the front door which has a gate, chain, and lock attached to it. If Garrett was the first victim that would put his death in the early 80s, since the Pizzeria closed in the 80s after the 5 Muders this could set the events of the film in the mid to late 90s. This could explain the lack of cell phones as they weren't as prevalent or affordable then.

Oh boy, can't wait for the crossover episode with MatPat
I saw it on opening night with a group of friends (all long-time fans) and when we were in the cinema walking to the theater, we got stopped because some people who were in cosplay had ‘too much' face paint on. The manager got called and like 4 different employees showed up to check but they let us in. But before that, one of them said "you guys like balloon boy?" And we just.. stood there. Before collectively being like uh sure..? And he just.. ominously said "He's there." and left ????? And yeah he was right but I'm still puzzled over that whole interaction
This film highlights the disparity between what critics enjoy and viewers enjoy. Not everything has to be an exploratory avant garde drama.

Great fnaf movie but a bad movie on its own. Kinda like the Mario and sonic movies then
@@dean_l33 I turned it off, it kinda is bad ngl and I had no experience with FNAF. So an outsider view (most critics have no idea it was even based off a game) adds up that is kinda meh. If you want a better version, just watch the Nic Cage version.
Everyone knows why the """professional""" critics rated it that way. Not hard to read the room.
Your hair is looking great my dude! Back to the long hair days from when I first started watching foundflix
Doug, the frumpy, spineless lawyer, was amazing.
